The person up front was very friendly. They give each family member about 10-15 mins some "private" time to say goodbye to your fur baby. We were told it would take 2 weeks (this was during Memorial Day weekend). I got a call and was able to pick up the ashes. Mine was a guinea pig so it came in a small white plastic container. My kid (who is an adult) paid extra for the paw print (like the ones we do to our kids when they are babies). They have urns for sale there, but we ended up buying a box style urn later somewhere else. read more

My dog passed away last night. I received Pet Haven as a referral from the Vet. This morning I called to inquire about burial services for my little boy. Clearly feeling devastated I was beyond words to explain how rude the woman was I spoke to. From the moment she answered the phone, she sounded bothered and clearly she does NOT want to be there. I asked her if she could tell me about the services they provide and she said, WHAT SERVICE? I actually thought I had the wrong number and had to ask where am I calling? She angrily said this is a pet cemetery, what do you need? I asked her about cost and she said $2,000 ANYTHING ELSE??????? I'm so upset, I just hung up. I am extremely disappointed with the paw print memorial and cremation services provided through Pet Haven Cemetery & Crematory in Gardena. I euthanized my dog at VIP animal Hospital. I paid approximately $380 for my dog's ashes and $80 for the paw prints, and the quality I received was nowhere near what I expected. I have a paw print keepsake from my first dog that was done by a different business, and I assumed I would receive something similar. Instead, the paw prints I received look rushed, unfinished, and unprofessional. The clay impressions have what appear to be fingerprints and handling marks left in the clay, the lettering is uneven and poorly done, and my dog's paw print is barely visible. One of the prints is also dirty and has debris embedded in it. These are supposed to be cherished memorial keepsakes, but they look carelessly made. I was also disappointed with the presentation of my dog's ashes. The ashes were returned in a plain plastic container, with the cremains inside a zip lock plastic bag. For the amount charged, I expected a much more respectful and dignified presentation. I understand that VIP Animal Hospital may not be responsible for creating these items and that the work was performed by Pet Haven Cemetery & Crematory, but as a grieving pet owner, this experience has been heartbreaking. These memorials are irreplaceable, and there is no opportunity to redo them once they are made. I would strongly encourage the crematory to improve its quality control and pay greater attention to the care and craftsmanship of the memorial items it provides. I don't have any complaints but more curiosity, like why is there an extra fee to witness your pet go into the furnace and how come it takes 2 weeks for the ashes to be ready? I have used Pet Haven a few times before to have my cats who passed away cremated here. My sweet senior female kitty Mama Girl passed away on Friday, March 13th. She was 19 years old and very special to me. I loved her so much! It was kinda expensive, but I decided to pay extra to witness the cremation just for peace of mind. Perla, the girl at the front desk told me which days/mornings were available, so I reserved Fri., 3/20 and she told me to be there at 8:00AM. On that morning, my son and I arrived around 8:00AM and went to the front office. Perla was on the phone when we walked in and she pointed for us to go to the viewing room to the right. My beautiful Mama Girl was laying on the little cushioned pet bed and we were able to visit with her for a little while before they started the cremation process. Jose, the kind cremation man came into the room after awhile and asked me if I wanted to carry my sweet girl to the crematory which I of course did. There was a round steel pan he told me to place her in. After I did that, he put the round steel pan with my sweet Mama Girl in it in the little crematory oven and closed the steel door. He said the temperature inside there would be 1500 degrees and that I could come back around 10:40AM to view the bone fragments and decide if I wanted the bones grinded or wanted to just take Mama Girl's bone fragments just the way they were. I came back at 10:40AM and the round steel pan with her bones were already outside cooling. It was so heartbreaking to see that she was now really gone forever and only her bone fragments remained. I decided to have the bone fragments grinded and was able to take Mama Girl's ashes home that same day. The office is located in a trailer on the premises it's neat and clean staffed with a helpful young lady a welcoming place to bring your fur babies when they cross the rainbow. They have interesting urns containers plaques necklaces etc to memoralize your beloved pet. The prices are fair and they offer cremation and burial just call and let them know what you need done. I chose cremation and a small wooden urn with an engraved place card for my sweet girl - they also have a room on the side to say your last goodbyes in private it was ready after two and a half weeks and I able to pick up her ashes. Laylah Rose Was a sweet sweet girl very gentle and born at my home she now joins her parents Mama and Popi she also joins my sweet girl Tupac aka NuNu and Molly aka Boots my cockatiels they were all cremated as well. As you can see I have entrusted all my beloved cockatiels with Pet Haven my birds were my babies - I have one bird left Laylah's brother Lucky he was very sad when she died he's alone now with me and my princess Dylan Monroe. Let me start off with the facts: my family comes from poverty, we rent, and we're Mexican. When my first dog Poohbear died when I was 17 (he was 13), we didn't know what to do. As renters, the thought of burying him in our yard didn't sit well with us as Mexicans because we didn't know what would happen to his resting body in the future. As a family, we don't do well with the idea of cremation. My mom found Pet Haven by accident when looking for another family recommended pet cemetery. And since we found them, we've only ever buried our pets together at this same location. Everything I mentioned earlier tied into why this business has our utmost loyalty and gratitude. When I say our family was poor, it was tough. The year after Poohbear, we had 3 other beloved pets die. Candy was also 13. Silly was old for a rabbit, about 8 years old. Stitch was ran over. Pet Haven was so sympathetic to us as a family. They helped us work out payment plans because again, these are animals we had for nearly 10 years or at least would have made it an entire lifetime in our care. Losing 3 in one year, one the previous year, and us also needing to honor our culture remembering and appreciating our passed on loved ones, was a difficult period. Financially for my parents, while also watching their kid heart broken that her childhood friends had returned to heaven. Then that kid grew up, and could bury another elder dog she had adopted by paying in full. It's been 12 years since we first buried Poohbear, and we buried Pikachu last week. Pikachu was truly my most special friend. He lived to 17. His burial paid in full. We always wanted him to be buried with his best friend Stitch. There was confusion with the plot because of how backed the payments were 11 years ago- but Pet Haven helped us figure it out. We could never afford markers for the graves- just the plot. The compassion that this establishment always showed us warms our heart. Jose, the grounds keeper, remembered us and our pets buried. The secretary mentions that he remembers people from 20 years back. Pet Haven is truly a special place. It's small, it's a bit rugged as far as presentation, but you know for a fact that your pets are safe there. The people working the grounds truly care. For the pets, and for the families. Pet Haven, thank you. So much. You gave us so much grace and understanding when we showed up confused and struggling. If it ever crossed your minds that we were annoying- you certainly never showed it. And now the same struggling people who were paying off graves for years are better prepared and able to do it in a minute. It may not be conscious- but there's not a doubt that your kindness and compassion allowed us to grow as humans. To have so many pets buried together that now when we have a new loved one, we know how to honor their long lives. As an adult, I've had to think "I need to be on top of myself because in 10+ years, THIS will be the reality" I don't want to look at my dog's eyes and know that just like Pikachu, I'll have to say goodbye...but that's life. Saying goodbye is inevitable. Saying goodbye is hard. But you, Pet Haven? You make it possible to have a choice. And that choice began with burying Poohbear off the property we rented. Thank you. Came here to say that Pet Haven was absolutely wonderful. I only had one tiff and that will be at the end of this post. Pet Haven had the most affordable service available for cremation. Unfortunately I did not ask about burial. We already had it set that we wanted our fur baby to be home with us. They were very accommodating. It was a very easy process. They allowed us time to be with our fur baby before they took her to the freezer. They explained the process and let us know that we will have her back in 14 days. Anything after that, after they call you to pick up, they will need to make other arrangements if you do not pick up your fur baby. The burial areas were very neat and clean. I made a point to say hello to all of the heavenly fur babies that were buried there. The employees were nice. We did not buy an urn there. We did buy a paw print for $20. The cremation was $145. Our baby was gently put in a white sturdy box. I have referred this place to many people already who faced the same fate as we did with our old fur family member. We called the same day and we were able to bring her in. 14 days later, Bunnie was ready for us to pick her up. Thank you Pet Haven for keeping prices affordable during this hard time. Thank you thank you thank you TIP: Workers, please be gentle when placing our sleeping fur family from the car to a cart. My daughter was upset and traumatized with how our baby was placed. There is a waiting time of 7-10 days and the price is $140. I was worried that my dog would be mixed with other dogs and wanted to see him with my own eyes. I made a reservation and paid an additional $250 to see him go in and out of the crematorium on the same day. I was there 8am in the morning and I said good buy to my little boy. They told me to come back at 10 am and they wouldn't take him out of the crematorium before we come back, but they had already taken him out. I assumed it was a my dog bone, but I was disappointed that they didn't keep their promise. Still, they were very kind. I took my keychain and asked him to fill it with bones, and he readily obliged. It's been 1 month since the passing of my beloved Juju and I'm still having trouble writing this because of all the tears... but I wanted to remember to thank Pet Haven for taking care of the goodbye. Pet Haven is a low key plot of land in the middle of pretty busy area, with pet cemetery, crematory, and a simple trailer turned office space. It's somehow right there but so easy to not see it unless you are looking for it. The location is super convenient, right next to the freeways, and has everything I needed. There is 1 staff member answering phone calls, checking in the bodies, etc, but they have been friendly and I did not wait much at any point. I've unfortunately had to say bye to my 15.5 yr dog last month, as well as my 30 yr old turtle last year, and both were cremated with reasonable price, turned around within promised time, and promptly notified with their ready to pick up ash call. Even though it's a small space, they have a little table in a little room, where you can lay down your pet and say good bye, in a pretty and peaceful set up, which I really really appreciated. Not much in the "amenities", but there was a box of tissues, and the cutest little poem from pet to owner printed for your comfort. What else can I ask for? The pictures they have on their website do NOT reflect the truth. See photos taken just yesterday. I was appalled by the state of this cemetery. It is not kept up, except a tiny strip of grass that you can tell was mowed over. But the thing is, that's where pets are buried. They mow over the graves. No concern about being respectful of the deceased OR the hundreds/thousands people have paid for the plot and headstones. We went to ACCESS South Bay to put our cat to sleep and were told they offered at-sea burials via Hearts & Halos. Except I called H&H and were told they haven't done that since 2020. Found out this place had my cat's ashes. I wanted to intercept them. It was too late, they dumped his ashes in a "communal garden". We went to look around at the garden and when I called this morning to ask where it was bc I didn't see one, I was told it's "not actually a garden, it's some hedges". read more

We came here years ago when we lost our amazing furbaby. I didn't write a review at the time because we were grieving.I wanted to write one now because i have a new appreciation for the level of care and compassion we received from Pet Haven. We recently went through our second pet loss and the vet we have now typically sends deceased patients to another facility for cremation. That experience was cold, had no compassion, and was merely a transaction for the other place. We feel cheated out of saying a proper goodbye to our beloved family member for not coming to Pet Haven. Zero stars if I could. This place opened up a whole new wound for me and took something so precious from me. My vet office is amazing, and I have no regrets on using them for the euthanasia of my beloved, Minka. My vet office sent her here to be cremated and asked if I'd like the package where you get a keepsake paw print. Of course I said yes This was extremely traumatic reading all the reviews on here. Even someone else's dog (rest in peace) that was hit by a car and they didn't even wipe their dogs paws before making the keepsake so blood was baked into it?? Wow I picked up my dogs remains and when I looked at the paw print keepsake I burst into tears. She was an Italian greyhound (little shedding and tiny fur. The size of an eyelash) it was COVERED in what looked like a white German Shepard's fur and other dogs fur. They don't even have the respect or kindness to make sure the area is clean before performing this service. My dogs paw prints were completely botched. I can't even tell it's a paw print. It looks amazing though compared to other people's photos. This was supposed to be an amazing keepsake and reminder of her. I can't even redo it, my baby is GONE. I won't have a chance to get a redo. Nothing they can do in this world will bring my baby back to make a new paw print. If you provide this service, then do it right. I honestly rather of not even gotten this. Because it makes me wonder? If they can't even wipe down the area or make sure to get a good print, how else are they treating your dogs remains before cremation?? I understand my dog was passed away, but I don't want to picture them grabbing her body and butchering this paw print service and then tossing her body aside like trash. She was an indoor dog. Italian greyhounds are very sensitive to cold and she was even potty trained to go inside the house. Her paw print was covered in dirt. No idea why that would of even been on there. Again, this is my baby, I WILL NEVER get another chance at getting this paw print. I feel so sick to my stomach after receiving this. I called my vet office hysterical (acknowledging it wasn't their fault but told them about what happened and they should probably go with another cremation place) my vet was so upset this happened (again, it was not THEIR fault) My heart absolutely goes out to everyone who has received botched paw prints. It's beyond disrespectful, heartbreaking and just brought more pain. To those who received good ones. I am genuinely so happy for you and please cherish it and consider yourself lucky. I would do anything in order to get my dogs keepsake DONE CORRECTLY. I'm even writing this while bawling my eyes out. I trusted that this place would deliver a SIMPLE paw print of my beloved dog. I've called multiple locations for cremation services and trust me everyone but this location stated this over the top price of 250 or more no matter what your per weigh. Pet haven Cemetary was my last hope. I called on the phone and I was quoted $85.00 and a option to purchase the urn. What I like about this Pet Cemetery, they were not aggressive, you could take a tour of the grounds and nobody was on your neck trying to force or pressure you to make any drastic decisions. So I turned my bunny over to them and signed some paper work and decided to purchase my urn off Amazon myself. This was a very open and comfortable conversation and I truly do believe that this organization handled my baby with care. 2 weeks or later I recieved a phone call, my bunny was placed in her beautiful urn and my necklace. If you're reading this review because you're looking for somewhere to cremate or bury your recently passed pet, I'm so very sorry for your loss. I was once in your shoes, too. It sucks. 5 mins after my dog died from terminal nasal carcinoma, I was on the phone calling every nearbyish pet crematorium in Los Angeles trying to make arrangements for my recently deceased dog. It's ridiculous how some places try to take advantage of your grief and price gauge you when you're at your most vulnerable. But not this place. I literally called them crying 10 mins before they closed and they had someone wait there after hours on the day before Christmas Eve so that I wouldn't have to keep my dead dog's remains at home overnight on a holiday. I probably wasn't even speaking coherently when sorting out details with them on the phone, but they were patient with me and offered the most reasonable price of the 6 locations I called (the fee here is based on your dog's weight). I got there an hour before my mom (she was stuck in traffic with my dog's body trying to get from the valley to the cemetery) and the person helping us really tried to console me and keep me distracted while we waited. He told interesting stories of the different celebrities he had met while working there, and we went around putting decorations on the graves for the holidays. Losing a pet is a very traumatic experience regardless, but the people here made it a little less traumatic for me. I got my dog's ashes back after the new year and they called me shortly after he was cremated and ready for pickup. For those who don't have other pets at home, you have the option of donating your pets stuff to an animal shelter, which I think is sweet and thoughtful. I left my dog's (relatively new) blanket, which hopefully found its way to a new home. Basically, if you're looking for a reasonably priced place to lay your pet to rest or cremate themthis is your place. I can't say enough great things about this crematory. Still family owned and they don't gouge your wallet with high prices. If you want an intimate experience with your pets crematory process this is the place to go! All the employees were so sweet and super patient with the grieving process. I called all over Southern California to find a place that didn't break the bank for me to have a very intimate crematory process with my dog. Every place I called were charging +$450 for what I was able to do at Pet Haven. I was looking for a place that would allow me to deliver my pet personally and hold on to my dog every step until personally putting her into the crematory. I couldn't bare thinking of leaving my dog at the vet after being euthanized, stuck in a freezer with other pets, put in a random truck, taken to a crematory all alone, and mailed back to me in the post. I wanted to respect her body and be with it every step until cremation. I knew I was putting my dog down in the afternoon at the vet (it was the end to her battle with lymphoma) so I gave Pet Haven a call (after already speaking with them about their offered services a couple weeks before), told them I'd like to do their private cremation service, and I got an appointment at 8am the next morning super easy. When you're the first client in the morning you are able to walk your pet all the way into and put them in the cold crematory oven yourself. This makes the experience extremely intimate and personal; being able to say your goodbyes the entire process. They allow you to be apart of process as much as you'd like, even allowing you to come back to take a bone or two if you'd like before they grind the bones into ashes. This service was $190 and your given a non fancy plastic white box with the ashes. They have many upgrades you can choose in their office; like beautiful wooden boxes, picture frames, stuffed look alike dogs, jewelry, etc. I chose to stick with the small white plastic box that comes with the cremation as I'm going to find a special box somewhere else. I even brought my pet in frozen (as I stuck her in our deep freezer the evening before so she wouldn't smell) and when they went to do the paw print clay with me they apologized saying she couldn't be frozen to do the clay. They felt so bad that they wasted a wet clay round, showed me how her paws couldn't imprint really well in the wet clay, and didn't charge me the extra $20 for it. read more

It was one of the most difficult times of my life, bringing my fur baby, Flash here. I wasn't in the right frame of mind, so a family member (who has gone through the same loss of a beloved pet himself which is the reason for this place's recommendation) made the arrangements to have my baby brought here to be cremated. He also assured me not to fret about him being cremated with other dogs. (I have heard of those nightmare stories where some places claim they were done individually... and then LIES!) "He will be cremated by himself with himself and no one else. I'll make sure of it." For a fee, it could be done immediately and could bring his ashes home within a couple of hours. The staff were so patient and understanding. They told me to take our time with our final goodbyes. And they were true to their word. We were on our way home within a couple of hours. I ordered a customized box/urn for him which was promised me within 3-5 business days. They were true to their word on that as well. As I wasn't ready to see his ashes, they made a kind offer to transfer them for me instead.
