The burial plot with headstone and border for the cremains of 12 of my dogs.

I do dog rescue and over 38 years had to have some of my own adopted dogs and some fosters cremated. They do allow you time to say goodbye in a little room. Since I had so many dogs cremated, I invested in a burial plot for all of them numbering about 12 with a headstone and border and keep it clean and decorated.

I had the pleasure of utilizing Pet Haven's services four months ago when my 18-year-old cat, Minka, passed away. Just a few hours after her passing, I was navigating the challenges of pet loss and aftercare for the first time while not even yet processing her taking her last breathes in my arms that very morning. The team at Pet Haven was not only professional but also genuinely empathetic. They were patient as I made decisions and carefully held Minka's body during the days I arranged a memorial with my family. I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to Pearla, Jose, and the owner, Mike for explaining each step of the process, being patient with my schedule, and helping me manage the logistics during such an emotional time. Their kindness and understanding meant a great deal, and it truly made a very difficult situation feel supported. I would recommend Pet Haven, and I hope that others experience the same professionalism combined with compassion that my family and I received during such emotional times. If you feel at any point that empathy seems lacking when discussing logistics, hold on to your own compassion and advocate for it--it will be received in return. Know that your heart is being cared for, and your beloved pet is resting in a better place. I also suggest reading the prayers available at the front desk; they can be comforting during this difficult process. I leave you with a Scripture verse I was led to on this morning, and I had the opportunity to also share to another kind person that day. "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds; He determines the number of the stars and calls them each by name." Psalm 137:34 God extended His grace and mercy to me that morning when I needed it most. I hope you feel peace in your hearts while holding on to the memories of your beloved loved ones.

My sweet senior kitty Mama Girl's clay pawprints and little cedar box that has her ashes inside of it.

I have used Pet Haven a few times before to have my cats who passed away cremated here. My sweet senior female kitty Mama Girl passed away on Friday, March 13th. She was 19 years old and very special to me. I loved her so much! It was kinda expensive, but I decided to pay extra to witness the cremation just for peace of mind. Perla, the girl at the front desk told me which days/mornings were available, so I reserved Fri., 3/20 and she told me to be there at 8:00AM. On that morning, my son and I arrived around 8:00AM and went to the front office. Perla was on the phone when we walked in and she pointed for us to go to the viewing room to the right. My beautiful Mama Girl was laying on the little cushioned pet bed and we were able to visit with her for a little while before they started the cremation process. Jose, the kind cremation man came into the room after awhile and asked me if I wanted to carry my sweet girl to the crematory which I of course did. There was a round steel pan he told me to place her in. After I did that, he put the round steel pan with my sweet Mama Girl in it in the little crematory oven and closed the steel door. He said the temperature inside there would be 1500 degrees and that I could come back around 10:40AM to view the bone fragments and decide if I wanted the bones grinded or wanted to just take Mama Girl's bone fragments just the way they were. I came back at 10:40AM and the round steel pan with her bones were already outside cooling. It was so heartbreaking to see that she was now really gone forever and only her bone fragments remained. I decided to have the bone fragments grinded and was able to take Mama Girl's ashes home that same day. It was definitely a heartbreaking experience, but I am glad I did it for my own peace of mind.

I'm here today because my precious cockatiel Laylah Rose crossed the rainbow. ' ; (. She was 21 years old. I have been acquainted with Pet Haven since I was a teenager the grounds are not as lush and green as they were in earlier years and that's something they need to address asap to get the grounds lush and green again currently they are kept up well just need some work. It's up the street from my family home i'm from Carson this location is off 190th in Gardena located on a busy street with a large parking lot. The office is located in a trailer on the premises it's neat and clean staffed with a helpful young lady a welcoming place to bring your fur babies when they cross the rainbow. They have interesting urns containers plaques necklaces etc to memoralize your beloved pet. The prices are fair and they offer cremation and burial just call and let them know what you need done. I chose cremation and a small wooden urn with an engraved place card for my sweet girl - they also have a room on the side to say your last goodbyes in private it was ready after two and a half weeks and I able to pick up her ashes. Laylah Rose Was a sweet sweet girl very gentle and born at my home she now joins her parents Mama and Popi she also joins my sweet girl Tupac aka NuNu and Molly aka Boots my cockatiels they were all cremated as well. As you can see I have entrusted all my beloved cockatiels with Pet Haven my birds were my babies - I have one bird left Laylah's brother Lucky he was very sad when she died he's alone now with me and my princess Dylan Monroe. If you're in need of services I highly recommend this establishment Pet Haven will pick up your pet or you can bring them over just like I did. Thank you for everything Pet Haven I appreciate you for all that you did over the years for my feathered babies and it gives me great comfort. I took off one star until you get that grass green and those grounds lush again.

Came here to say that Pet Haven was absolutely wonderful. I only had one tiff and that will be at the end of this post. Pet Haven had the most affordable service available for cremation. Unfortunately I did not ask about burial. We already had it set that we wanted our fur baby to be home with us. They were very accommodating. It was a very easy process. They allowed us time to be with our fur baby before they took her to the freezer. They explained the process and let us know that we will have her back in 14 days. Anything after that, after they call you to pick up, they will need to make other arrangements if you do not pick up your fur baby. The burial areas were very neat and clean. I made a point to say hello to all of the heavenly fur babies that were buried there. The employees were nice. We did not buy an urn there. We did buy a paw print for $20. The cremation was $145. Our baby was gently put in a white sturdy box. I have referred this place to many people already who faced the same fate as we did with our old fur family member. We called the same day and we were able to bring her in. 14 days later, Bunnie was ready for us to pick her up. Thank you Pet Haven for keeping prices affordable during this hard time. Thank you thank you thank you TIP: Workers, please be gentle when placing our sleeping fur family from the car to a cart. My daughter was upset and traumatized with how our baby was placed. I took time to explain to her to just let it go but she was highly upset.

There is a waiting time of 7-10 days and the price is $140. I was worried that my dog would be mixed with other dogs and wanted to see him with my own eyes. I made a reservation and paid an additional $250 to see him go in and out of the crematorium on the same day. I was there 8am in the morning and I said good buy to my little boy. They told me to come back at 10 am and they wouldn't take him out of the crematorium before we come back, but they had already taken him out. I assumed it was a my dog bone, but I was disappointed that they didn't keep their promise. Still, they were very kind. I took my keychain and asked him to fill it with bones, and he readily obliged. Thank you.

A little area to set up a pillow and say goodbye to my BFF.

It's been 1 month since the passing of my beloved Juju and I'm still having trouble writing this because of all the tears... but I wanted to remember to thank Pet Haven for taking care of the goodbye. Pet Haven is a low key plot of land in the middle of pretty busy area, with pet cemetery, crematory, and a simple trailer turned office space. It's somehow right there but so easy to not see it unless you are looking for it. The location is super convenient, right next to the freeways, and has everything I needed. There is 1 staff member answering phone calls, checking in the bodies, etc, but they have been friendly and I did not wait much at any point. I've unfortunately had to say bye to my 15.5 yr dog last month, as well as my 30 yr old turtle last year, and both were cremated with reasonable price, turned around within promised time, and promptly notified with their ready to pick up ash call. Even though it's a small space, they have a little table in a little room, where you can lay down your pet and say good bye, in a pretty and peaceful set up, which I really really appreciated. Not much in the "amenities", but there was a box of tissues, and the cutest little poem from pet to owner printed for your comfort. What else can I ask for? Another staff came in with a cart to pick him up and I sent him in wrapped in our blanket. Thank you guys so much.

What they claim to offer on their website
    Jenny D.

The pictures they have on their website do NOT reflect the truth. See photos taken just yesterday. I was appalled by the state of this cemetery. It is not kept up, except a tiny strip of grass that you can tell was mowed over. But the thing is, that's where pets are buried. They mow over the graves. No concern about being respectful of the deceased OR the hundreds/thousands people have paid for the plot and headstones. We went to ACCESS South Bay to put our cat to sleep and were told they offered at-sea burials via Hearts & Halos. Except I called H&H and were told they haven't done that since 2020. Found out this place had my cat's ashes. I wanted to intercept them. It was too late, they dumped his ashes in a "communal garden". We went to look around at the garden and when I called this morning to ask where it was bc I didn't see one, I was told it's "not actually a garden, it's some hedges".

Not many crematoriums are open on Sundays. I called a number in Van Nuys that I found on Yelp, but the man referred me to Furrever Friends. I'm so glad he did. Heather at Furrever Friends was so kind on the phone and in person. She made the entire process very smooth and easy. She discussed everything with me - their strict cremation process, what to expect with the final package, etc. Honestly, I didn't ask; she just told me. I wasn't functioning very well that day. I picked up Franklin today after only a 4-day wait. At the shop, Heather surprised me with Frank's paw and nose prints on wood and paper! What a thoughtful idea! (I'm sure she told me about it on Sunday, but I really wasn't present.) I almost broke down in front of her when I saw his nose. We used to "boop" that thing! Frank himself is resting in a beautiful wooden box. He's coming home now. Heather, thank you so much for the amazing love and care you showed us! I won't forget you.

Last week on the 23rd right before christmas, my dog of 14 years passed away at home. I remembered my bsf used FF and I reached out to get their info. I contacted them immediately and was assisted by Heather. She was very kind and helpful over the phone, gave me all the info about the various packages they offer. They offer 3 different cremations packages (private, witness, and communal). I chose to go with private bc witness was more than double the price of private. However, don't be nervous about going with private bc they have numerous ways to ensure that you will be obtaining your pet's remains back even if you aren't able to witness the full process. The private package included a simple urn (a box), paw/nose impression, and fur clipping. In their viewing room, they have numerous urns to choose from and upgrade from the package. Although it was so close to the holidays, I was able to pick up my baby girl the day after christmas. They were kind enough to gift us with a bamboo impression of her nose and paw as an ornament as well. The whole service and communication was truly great. I had no doubt in trusting Heather and her family with taking care of my pet. You can feel how much they care about animals and their passion in helping families get closure and having a beautiful send off for their pets. I will definitely recommend Furrever Friends to all pet owners when it's time to say goodbyes to our fur babies.

We had the pleasure of Dr. Susan Chao come out to our home on Friday, March 20. We had a 9 am appointment (the first one of the day) and she arrived a little before. She had called me about 15 minutes prior to let me know that she would be arriving within 15 minutes. When she arrived, my husband and I greeted her and had her walk to our backyard, as this was the place I had wanted for our little girl because she loved being in the backyard to sunbathe. Dr. Chao was wonderful at guiding us through the process, explaining every step of the way and allowing us to take our time to say goodbye to Muffin. She also allowed us to give Muffin treats during the process (Muffin's last meal was a chicken nugget from Burger King and pureed chicken that Dr. Chao brought, which Muffin really did enjoy eating). Dr. Chao also did cut a piece of Muffin's fur for us to keep and placed it in a small plastic box, which she put in a small mesh bag and gave it to us as a keepsake. Muffin passed away on March 20, 9:31 am. Dr. Chao gave us some time to spend with Muffin right after and just walked towards the side of the house so that we could have privacy. Afterwards, she placed Muffin in a basket and then we walked with her towards the front of the home so that she could take Muffin with her to eventually be cremated. About two weeks later, I contacted Hearts and Halos to ask if Muffin's ashes were ready for us to pick up (please note that the company can also mail your pet's ashes to you, but we just preferred to pick it up in person). I had a hard time getting ahold of them via telephone, so I emailed the company and was able to arrange for a pickup time. I was told via email that someone was supposed to contact us that day that I had emailed them about Muffin's ashes though... This past Thursday, my husband and I went to Gardena to pick up Muffin's ashes (please note that Hearts and Halos office is now in transition to moving to Hungtinton Beach). When we arrived, an employee came out and gave us a small gift bag, that held her ashes, seeds to plant in her memory and also a small brochure regarding aftercare and additional resources for the grieving process. I do like the box that her ashes came in and also I love the small wooden heart with her name engraved on it and a small halo right above her name. The total cost for these services is $840 (you can pay via check, cash or credit card). You can also have additional items, such as an urn (which cost $60) or your pet's paw print, that will cost extra. If you do not wish to have your pet's ashes back, the cost would go down to $675, in which your pet will be part of a communal process to preserve their ashes and then will be scattered in the company's memory garden. Just as a price comparison, when we had to put down our other 2 dogs at the vet (both of our other dogs were of an emergent case and so we would not have been able to plan for their euthanasian earlier and so we would not have been able to utilize these home euthanasia services even if we had known about them at the time), at minimum, it would have cost $455 if we had made an appointment and had this service done during the day. However, both times we had to rush our dogs to the vet were during after hours and without an appointment, so the cost was around $560, which also did include their ashes. So, these home pet euthanasia services can cost an additional $100- $300 more but we felt it was worth the cost. We did not have to rush and deal with the stress and anxiety of the car ride from our home to the vet and also sit in the waiting room while they prep our dog and then say goodbye to them in the vet's office (where both of our dogs really hated going to the vet). The ability to allow Muffin to be in the comfort of her own home and to have foods that she enjoyed during the process was worth it for us. I highly recommend home pet euthanasia at home if you can afford it. I like to think that this was the much better choice for Muffin and hope that she was happy with her chicken treats right before she left us, keeping her in good spirits than to be stressed and anxious if we had chosen to bring her to the veterinarian instead. Thank you Hearts and Halos for helping us during this process.

Fortunately, we called a friend who works at Orange County Animal Hospital and immediately transferred our dog there. The difference was unbelievable. Their staff was compassionate, moved much faster, and took a thoughtful, measured approach that balanced what our dog actually needed with the financial reality every pet owner faces. Our dog was successfully treated overnight, and the total bill was about $1,400. We were also told the same diagnostic workup would have cost around $500 there instead of the $1,300 we had already paid. That experience made it impossible not to wonder whether ACCESS's recommendations were driven by what was best for our dog--or by what would generate the biggest bill. As a pet owner, you are at your most vulnerable during an emergency. You'll do almost anything to save your animal. In my opinion, ACCESS takes advantage of that desperation with staggering prices and an aggressive approach to treatment that can leave families feeling like they have no choice but to spend thousands of dollars on the spot. To make matters worse, with the exception of a couple of employees, we found the staff to be cold and unfriendly. The veterinarian we dealt with showed very little empathy during one of the most stressful nights we've ever had with our dog. I understand that emergency veterinary medicine is expensive. I expected to pay a premium. What I did not expect was to feel pressured into a treatment plan costing over $6,000, only to discover another emergency hospital treated the exact same condition successfully for a fraction of the cost. If you love your pet--and of course you do--please know that you have options. Call another emergency hospital. Get a second opinion if your pet is stable enough to do so. It could save you thousands of dollars without compromising your pet's care. I will never return to ACCESS Animal Hospital, and I cannot recommend it to anyone. Based on my experience, I would only go here if there were truly no other emergency veterinary hospitals available.

I ended up communicating with Amber through email and text, and she was honestly so kind and supportive the entire time. They respected my request to avoid phone calls, which I really appreciated because I just was not in the headspace for that. Amber was also incredibly responsive to every update I sent, whether it was texts, photos, or even videos of TamTam. I even shared photos of him when he was younger and of the rest of our pack, and she was so warm and engaging about all of it. It never felt transactional at all, which meant a lot during such a heavy time. We didn't end up needing their services since TamTam passed peacefully at home with us by his side, but talking to Amber genuinely helped me through the process. They also offer ScratchPay, which is helpful for those concerned about cost. I will always appreciate the empathy Amber showed us during such a difficult moment.

They brought her out and she seemed fine. They explained to me they were able to retrieve one raisin. I was relieved because I thought she swallowed more. Now when it came to cost, I know these things can be costly. The Dr assistant did want me to pay between 3,500-4,500 for my fur baby to stay there for two nights to check her levels. When I informed the Dr assistant I did not have that sort of money. The Dr assistant demeanor seemed to have changed, but she followed up with me after and asked how Prada was holding up. The doctor on the other hand was very nice and accommodating. Luckily my fur baby Prada is very much alive. If my fur baby has another medical emergency I would come back here. Especially since this is the only emergency vet open 24/7.

Earlier that day, he had already been seen by my regular veterinarian, where bloodwork was done. Since they couldn't determine the cause of his illness, they recommended I take him to an urgent care facility. The only reason they referred me was because they did not have the equipment to perform X-rays or an ultrasound. They had already done everything they could at their clinic and wanted my dog to receive the advanced imaging he needed. When I arrived around 12:00 PM, the receptionist told me the wait would be about two hours. I completely understood because it's an urgent care, and I appreciated that they took my dog into the treatment area. I assumed he would at least receive IV fluids to keep him hydrated while we waited, especially because I specifically told the receptionist he wasn't eating, was weak, and needed an IV. I was willing to pay for whatever treatment he needed. As the hours passed, I repeatedly asked for updates. Around 3:00 PM, then again at 5:00 PM, I was told my dog was doing fine and that I would be seen soon. Finally, at about 7:00 PM, we were taken into an exam room. The veterinarian came in and immediately asked what was wrong with my dog. I was surprised because it seemed she hadn't been briefed on why we were there. I had to explain everything from the beginning while feeling overwhelmed after waiting seven hours. When I asked if my dog had been receiving IV fluids during that time, I was shocked to learn that he had not received any IV treatment at all. That was extremely upsetting because I believed he was at least being kept hydrated while waiting. After briefly reviewing the bloodwork from my regular veterinarian, the doctor told me my dog "might have leukemia (CANCER)" before performing any imaging, such as X-rays or an ultrasound. Hearing that was heartbreaking. She then recommended additional testing, including more bloodwork, X-rays, an ultrasound, and other diagnostics, with an estimated cost of around $12,000 just to determine what was wrong. I understand that diagnostics are important and that emergency veterinary medicine is expensive. However, after the lack of communication, the seven-hour wait without IV fluids, and hearing such a serious possibility mentioned before additional testing was done, I no longer felt confident continuing care there. I decided to take my dog home. Over the next two days, I focused on keeping him hydrated, monitored him closely, gently massaged his abdomen, and followed supportive care at home. Thankfully, he eventually passed a large mango pit in his stool. Once it came out, he quickly improved and made a full recovery. He did not have cancer. What scares me the most is thinking about how many pet owners may feel pressured into making heartbreaking decisions because of an initial possible diagnosis or because they simply can't afford the recommended costs. I kept thinking that could have been me. If I had accepted that my dog might have cancer without seeking another opinion or waiting for additional answers, I might have made a decision I would have regretted forever. Thankfully, in my dog's case, that wasn't what was wrong. Looking back, I understand that an X-ray may have helped identify the obstruction, and that is exactly why my regular veterinarian referred me there--they did not have the equipment to perform those tests. However, my experience left me feeling that communication was poor, my concerns were not taken seriously, and my dog waited far too long without the supportive care I believed he would receive. This was my personal experience, and unfortunately, I cannot recommend this facility based on how my dog and I were treated. I truly hope no other family has to go through what we experienced.
