My kids love going to look at all the animals, and usually take a bit of bribery to get them out of the shop. I recently discovered the adoption centre at the very back of the store, will probably have to keep the kids away from that bit or will end up coming home with a few!! Good selection of cold and exotic fish, and all the ones I had from here have had long lives!!

The shop is well stocked and features a wide selection of Royal Canin and Hills Science Diet varieties. Annoyingly, there is a slight charge for card payments and every time I try to beat the system, by buying an extra sachet of food, or packet of cat treats, I end up spending more than intended. On several occasions I have used coupons sent to me by cat food companies against products and the staff have been gracious in accepting them, which doesn't always happen in shops!

They have a very good and extensive range of dog and cat foods to cater for even the fussiest of eaters. Their own brand cat and dog foods are very good value and are of good quality. They sell an amazing range of pets beds, toys and extras such as brushes, shampoos, flea treatments, vitamins - you name it and Pets at Home sell it! You normally end up buying something you did not realise you needed! My dog when I take him there heads for the section with the dog treats - I think he wishes he could be a taste tester for them! They do sell some live animals such as rabbits, guinea pigs, mice etc which I don't really like but on the whole they seem to keep them in reasonably good conditions. The trouble is they do not vet the people who buy them.

They always offer to carry heavy items, food, cat litter or whatever you have - when does that happen these days?! The shop is tucked away at Spindle Way, (drive in on the right) but parking is so easy, right outside the door and the store so warm, personal and friendly. I cannot recommend them enough to buy any pet food or accessories, or just to visit and have a look!

Besides the cute rodents downstairs there were some beautiful fish upstairs. With the fast food options nearby being Mcdonalds and Nandos, this is probably amusingly the only place you could get a healthy bite to eat in the immediate vicinity (I am more than just a human, I am an Iams human).
