I have been going to Sterlin for a couple of years now and he is hands down the best massage therapist I have ever had. And, I am an experienced massage therapy client. Sterlin always makes you feel comfortable and talks with you in the beginning of the session to see if there is any part of the body that is sore or needs attention. His deep tissue work is phenomenal as he is strong and firm in his technique. He also does a two handed massage that feels as if there are two therapists working on you. Not sure how he does it, but it is awesome. He is also very affordable, especially considering the level of service you get. I have been seeing Sterlin for a couple of months now and am very pleased to be able to write this review. I needed a new bodyworker when my previous provider moved his office and after some risky behavior involving a sledge hammer and a ladder had me contemplating doctors and MRIs, etc. Sterlin was pretty confident that the pain I was experiencing had to do with how the muscles in my arm and shoulder had essentially seized up, and after four sessions the pain has receded to a dim echo of what it had been. What I appreciated about Sterlin was that even though he treats the whole body, and, of course, understands that the whole body needs attention even if one area is a particular problem, he did devote real attention to where I was most in need. One of the best massages I have ever had. The stress melt combined with the double-handed therapy; I fell asleep within 15 minutes! The calming music and ambiance makes it so easy to relax. I am definitely coming back to see Sterlin again. It's really affordable too. The $90/month unlimited massage membership is really what I need for all the chronic pain/stress I hold in my neck and shoulders. Getting an appointment is a lot easier too than those other massage chains and the best part is you know your therapist will be there and not just up and leave like my last one. Looking for a great massage therapist? FOUND ONE FOR YOU! You have to check out Sterlin. I've gone to him for the last several months and I am so grateful. He is just amazing and I can't recommend him enough. I have a pinched nerve in my foot and some back issues. He listened to my issues and he then made some recommendations. I'm so glad I listened to him and I feel so much better. Before my pinched nerve I would walk about 5 miles a day on average, and when this happened I had issues walking across the street. Sterlin truly has magic hands. I have chronic pain in my lower back and after I get a massage it is gone. I am able to work out with range of motion I never normally have, sleep better and run longer. You can tell he has extensive training in how to really get into the muscles and releasing them. It is a true sports massage that has the peacefulness and relaxation of a sweedish massage.The technique he uses coming into muscle allows for very deep pressure without any pain or soreness afterward. I just had my first, and certainly not my last, massage by Sterlin at Petaluma Getaway. He has a great background and years of massage experience and it shows. I primarily get massages for relaxation though I am also very athletic and could use more deep tissue work from time to time. I won a massage in a drawing at work. I had one massage and was sold! You fill out a form with questions that include what kind of pressure you'd like. He did a great job blocking out all light from the outside. The ambience is awesome! The music! The aroma! The warm comfy blanket! I cannot recommend Sterlin at Petaluma Getaway enough. I am seeing him 2 to 3 times a week for some sports related massage therapy. He has helped relieve numerous injuries and aching muscles.
