Went to Petco to return an item that didn't fit my pet. As I was parking I got a notification of a discount. I needed an additional item so I thought "perfect". The cashier (didn't get her name) said no I can't do that! I asked to return the second item and she called the manager Bonnie. Bonnie took care of it and was super helpful. Edited to include that I called the number they gave and they didn't do anything, I wasn't even confident in their response that they would "train" their associates which should have been done in the first place. Review remains the same. Placed a pick up order for Advantix for my dogs. I ordered a 6 count. I should have checked the box, but when I got home (45 minutes away) I found it was a single count. Drove back to town, she then handed me a 21-55 pound box. I realized this and gave it back to her. She then handed me a 4 count box. So frustrating. Finally got the 6 count box of what I ordered after wasting 3 hours of my day to fix their mistake. Additionally, the fish tanks are gross, the store needs to be updated and it just feels dirty when you enter. read more

The store itself is a 5-star. They give military a discount and have a great selection. The groomer, specifically Brianna, failed to show to work for my scheduled appointment, resulting in the need to re-schedule during a far less convenient time. Unfortunately, this is Grand Forks, where these younger generations fail to come to work when scheduled. UPDATE - Cancellation? That implies you cancelled And NOTIFIED the customer. Brought our 18 month old Korgi in for a basic wash and dip for undercoat. It is an hour drive and I was not prepared for all of the construction in GF. I was 15 minutes late. I was told I should have called and she should not even take my dog. I was spoken to very rudely and loudly. I asked several times how long the appt would take. When she told me 4 hours, that was it. You don't treat customers that way. I finally told her I'd had enough of her rudeness and left. I will never return. I felt like a child getting repremended in front of others. Pet Parents Beware!! I am heartbroken and devastated!! I was out of the country during the month of April, 2024. I left my 4 year-old Shih Tzu with my family. In my absence, my dog's hair started matting. I suggested to my family to take the dog to the groomers while I was away. I have always groomed my fur baby by myself. She was taken to Petco in Grand Forks for grooming. Not only did Petco give her an awful and unprofessional haircut, but the "groomer" named Willie. was also negligent and butchered part of my dog's left ear off. I met with Andrea, the manager of Petco. I was told by the manager that my dog was groomed by a *PROFESSIONAL* groomer who has worked there for 7 years and also trains in new staff. I was referred to Petco's District General Manager, Angie in Minneapolis. She was of no help to resolve this matter. Petco only reimbursed the vet bill but refused any compensation for emotional and psychological suffering that my dog and I endured. My dog has suffered from physical trauma from this incident. Their reptiles are almost always kept in very poor conditions. their enclosures are filthy, humidity is typically inadequate for the species, the animals are cohabitated together, and their health is poor. last year there were five ball pythons in the same ten gal enclosure, they all had mites, were malnourished, and severely dehydrated. When I brought these concerns to an employee, he told me that "its fine" and not a problem. He then proceeded to pull out one of the emaciated and ill pythons and actually shoved it in my face saying "see?! its fine." I am consistently disappointed at best and horrified at worst with this location. I would never purchase any animal from this store. read more

Long story short-I made an apt at the wrong pet store for my lab, Elvis. Communicated the apt to my husband who took care of the logistics (Drop-off and pick-up). We always go to Petco, but for whatever reason, the appointment was made at pet smart. (Mom brain) They were so accommodating in the grooming dept and made space for my Elvis. While I acknowledge the error was totally my fault, they worked with us and still groomed Elvis that same day. We are very thankful!! read more

I understand the company having a no-return policy during virus terror. I bought an inflatable neck collar for our dog that had surgery. The original cone of shame didn't work. The collar I bought was defective. The plug to keep air in repeatedly came out. The collar could not be resold. Defective products should be able to be returned. $45 in the garbage. No more business from me! That's a substantial monthly loss, since we have a high demand dog. Bye! read more

Just moved to town and couldn't get a quick appt with a local groomer, so went to Petco. I asked for a certain length for my dog and groomer said it would look uneven bcuz of her coat (have done that length before with no problem). Went with the length suggested and it's too short. Asked groomer to keep ears, face and tail long, and my dog came out with a shaved face. If you've seen a poodle cut, that's what her face is like. Was not the cut I asked for nor was the cut she had. Would expect a pro groomer to know this, plus it's what I asked for. Was also charged an additional $12 fee for a reason I couldn't tell you. Shop was full of various dog hair everywhere. My dog's stomach also made crazy noises for awhile after we got home - not sure what kind of treats are used or if there is water available. Already have recommendations for a local in home groomer. read more

Meh, it's not a very nice Petco. Seems a little old & run down & not very organized. On the plus side they do have what I need to feed my fatties. Staff seem like they are they only to get deals for their own pets (weird, I can't explain it, that is just the vibe they give off. They aren't not nice, just seem like they would rather be elsewhere. Usually it seems like people that work at these go out of their way spreading the pet love. read more

Chewy always comes out looking for terrific. They let me know if they find any issues I might not notice and take care of all his grooming needs. Chewy likes the team takes care of him and that means alot. I have no complaints other than it takes too long but then again, you can't rush perfection. read more

Very disappointed with Petco and the trainer. They say they welcome all breeds but my 4 month old puppy was kicked out of puppy playtime within one minute of being there. (She's a mix but is 50% Staffordshire) Meanwhile, the trainer had to pick up another dog who was very aggressive multiple times and that dog wasn't kicked out. Very disappointed since it was such obvious breed discrimination. read more

Dirty store. Unhealthy fish. Sad looking cats. Inadequate reptile enclosures. More than disappointed. This stores has great stuff if they would actually keep up on making sure the shelves weren't bare bones. Multiple times now I've been in and they haven't had the food I buy for my dog almost all of those times. The female employee that I asked for help was very sweet and apologetic when she couldn't find the food I needed. The people are friendly and welcoming. Bonnie on the other hand has given me and my fiancé attitude plenty of times and has not been very helpful at all. Not sure if she's the main manager but this store needs help. read more

My little Yorkshire Terrier not only has black nails, but also fusses so violently when I try to trim them that I am just unable to. Hence my visit to the Groomer in Petco. Nice gal, but she was the only Groomer working, so she asked me to hold my dog while she trimmed his nails. Ummm, that kinda defeats the purpose of me bringing him to the groomer. If I could hold my dog still, I'd be trimming them myself! I said no and she got a store employee to help. She did an okay job at that point. But then when I went to pay, the price was higher than what I was quoted on the phone. Apparently I should have double checked the services I was getting. read more

I was pleased with the service I received at this location. Most of it had to do with the staff member we dealt with. She was very knowledgeable in the retile we were looking to buy for my son. She also recommended that I not buy rabbit bedding there so she was aware that some of their prices are too high. But over-all we had a great experience and would return here for all our retile needs! read more
