This is a great short hike about 45 mins per the park ranger but without stopping you probably can finish around 30-40 minutes just strolling. You can climb up the hill for a better view though the climb down is a bit steep and rocky, not recommended for toddlers. There is also a beach that is full of tree trunks for a nice break. Go breathe the fresh air and get away from the city.

Even if you're wiped from your earlier trek, I promise you'll make it there. This place is fantastic. Split by Route 9D, it offers two distinct experiences: on one side, a Hudson River beach where people swim and relax; on the other, a hiking trail that winds through the intriguing ruins of an old estate. This was easily one of the most captivating spots we explored.

It was only my third time hiking, and that's when I realized how much I love hiking. I definitely plan to hike more often. The Blue Trail is considered beginner-friendly, I found parts of it a bit challenging because of the incline. Still, the effort was worth it, the view of South Beacon Mountain was absolutely beautiful. The hike itself was a great experience, especially with friends. Near the train station, there are small shops where you can grab food, drinks, or any last-minute supplies. There are also restrooms by the station and portable toilet near the trail areas. I would definitely come back to hike there again, maybe do the red trail.

If you go in the winter, take caution with the ice when climbing to the top. After about an hour into the trail, you will see a sign to continue on the Full Loop or the Short Loop. When we reached that point, we switched to the Bull Hill Short Loop. It took around 3 hours to complete. The trails have beautiful views! You will see other hikers, but everyone keeps a safe distance. Take time to stop and enjoy the surrounding. There are portable toilets at the beginning of the trail with hand sanitizers if you need to use a bathroom.

You can smell the salt in the Hudson River and get some great views across the water. An eight day trip for me peaked on a conveniently located rock there: unforgettable. It's just a great place to sit and soak it all in, relax under the sun, forget about everything and just absorb the moment...I'll be sure to stop in again the next time I'm in town.

Infested. Algonquin Park itself has a bunch of nice trails and it's so peaceful out there when the wind is blowing and you have a slice of pizza and some drinks from the place across the street. It's very family friendly and well kept. Don't remember any Canadian geese being out there actually, which was quite a surprise. Happy that the parks department for the town Newburgh takes care of this place.

This is a huge sprawling neoghbourhood park that has all the things we typically expect and want in…read moresuch a park - a variety of trails, a year-round stream, a bridge, remnants of historical structures, shaded pocnic spots, restrooms, a (very large) children's playground, and ample free parking. The water levels for the stream apparently can vary quiet a bit, as we've seen them swell up to a river early spring versus the typical babbling brook. I hope efforts continue to maintain and preserve this natural space for all to enjoy.

Although I use this park for flying my drone and scenic photography, this park has it all. It's a…read morequiet park on the shore of the Hudson River overlooking Bannerman's Island, Breakneck Ridge, and the Newburgh-Beacon Bridge. This is a very safe park which is frequently patrolled by the village police. As far as droning, this is one of the best spots I've ever flown out of. It's legal per the village codes, so long as you're not flying in a manner that would alarm other park-goers. Fly respectfully. With high-end drones, you can fly over Bannerman's and Breakneck to achieve great pictures. Dogs often bring their owners here for a walk or run in the large, open field bordering the river. Some dogs even bring their owners in for a swim in the shallow water. I believe there is a leash law, but not really enforced if you're playing a harmless game of fetch together. The park features a large, white gazebo, which lights up at nighttime and is frequently used for weddings. There are plenty of charcoal grills and picnic tables. All summer long, couples or families can be seen here picnicking or BBQing. Many people tend to lay out in the sun and sunbathe, while others relax in the shade under the large trees. The people who use this park are very friendly. People will almost definitely approach you and strike up a conversation (as with any park, some of the people are lonely and they can try keeping you talking for hours), but they're often respectful of your space and you can sit quietly by yourself. There is also a boat dock, which requires a permit from Village Hall. The boat ramp is a cement slab with a small dock (staging area only). There is no room to dock here to enjoy the park or to stay overnight. This is only for use with the ramp. The ramp isn't in the greatest of conditions - oddly, poverty-stricken Newburgh's ramp is much better than Donahue Park's. There are only a few parking spots in the back end of the park for vehicles with boat trailers. Vehicle parking is aplenty, but beware -- this is paid parking. Either you must have a parking permit (from Village Hall), or you can use a cell phone app called ParkMobile to pay $5.45 for the day. This is all electronic - once you pay, your vehicle info shows on the police car computers and they know not to write you a parking ticket. There is also a porta-potty located at the far end of the park, which is removed during the winter months. Beware of the Cornwall Yacht Club located behind the village porta-potty. The snooty members drive like maniacs through the park, tending to blow their horns at people who are walking or moving too slow within the park. Unfortunately, the park is their only access to their little clubhouse. Their rowdy behavior sometimes takes away from the peacefulness of the park, but fortunately, it's only for 4 or 5 months out of the year.

Carnwath Farms Park was a huge discovery, and boy, it's a beautiful treat to stop at. The trail…read morethat runs through this park is called the Wappinger Greenway Trail with so many surroundings to explore, and also views to observe across the Hudson River, specifically, to the south and west, Newburgh, West Point, and The Hudson Highlands State Park, to the north, Mid Hudson Bridge, and east, a bit of Fishkill with not a whole lot of viewing. The trail starts as you enter the park, beginning on the right side before the parking lot. There are a couple of spots to park right at the trailhead. It mainly parallels the Hudson River in the woods with a couple of fields until finally reaching more fields. Following the signs, it will end toward Wheeler Hill Road with a downhill with woods. This may go down as my favorite park in the Hudson Valley. The judging belongs to you.
