My family and I (including our children) have never had a cavity so we didn't think it was necessary to get x-rays every six months. When we brought this issue up and advised the receptionist that we weren't going to be getting the x-rays just the cleaning she made a huge deal over it and was extremely rude. She basically threatened me and even mentioned that kids must get it every six months or it's considered child abuse or some ridiculous statement along those lines. Keep in mind this was just the receptionist not the actual Dentist so why is she giving out medical advice? She's not qualified to recommend treatments for patients. Needless to say we have since switched to a new dental office, and when we brought up the issue, they assured me that they weren't even going to do x-rays every six months because they are not necessary. Maybe for some people they are, but if your oral hygiene is good, there is no need for it especially with kids. It's unfortunate because the actual Dentist and the hygienist were very sweet people and good at their jobs, but they really need to update their policy on doing x-rays every six months because it's not necessary. It seems like they are doing this just to be able to charge your insurance. And it seems like some training needs to also be done with their receptionist, especially when it comes to children. The parents have the right to refuse whatever they want to, if they feel like it is not medically necessary for their child. And in this case, it 100% was not necessary and we've been assured by our new Dentist that it was not.

The diagnosis didn't sit right, especially since her cleaning felt incomplete (only used the ultrasonic scaler) and no traditional dental instruments or flossing. Given how unusual this diagnosis sounded, she sought a second opinion and was told she in fact has no cavities at all- just staining on the sealants. Very concerning experience. I would be cautious before proceeding with any recommended dental work here from Dr. Alano.

But going to Dr. Lee's office make me feel like I'm part of their family. I feel welcomed and well treated. As you enter, you are welcomed warmly by a gorgeous receptionist Alexandra. Very knowledgeable and soft-spoken. So easy to book for an appointment with her, the system is so flexible. The lounge alone is so clean, tidy with a TV and you can tell that the entire office is that way. The rooms are very clean, updated with modern equipment, TV,they'll ask you what you want to watch from Netflix, and a window so you could see nature. No clutter at all, unlike other dental rooms, you're afraid you might knock down something or cut yourself with a dental tool sticking out of the tray. And the best thing is the comfortable dental chair. My feet do not over hang anymore or my arms do not dangle on the side, I'm a tall and big person so I need a great chair, lol! The feeling is "feeling at home" Tamara the dental assistant is so friendly, knowledgeable and she makes you comfortable without any anesthesia. She sets the dental tray completely, organized and well prepared. She is a very good assistant to Dr. Lee. She sucks good too! Oops, did I say that in a wrong way? You know what I meant! And Kathy, the Dental Hygienist is so awesome. She has the most steady, gentle and precise hands and did an awesome job on my teeth. Once she gets started, there's no stopping and and all their personalities are just great. There's also Chelsea but I only met her once. I'm pretty sure she's awesome too. And if you have a great group like this, you know you're in good hands and will be walking out with awesome set of teeth. And then we have the wonderful, handsome, gentle hands Dr. Lee! I guess he's the reason why his staff is all smiles. A real gentleman and professional. He will explain step by step before the procedure, starting from administering the lidocaine to rinsing your mouth, he explains step by step to keep you informed and to alleviate that fear. He'll talk to his assistant to the level you will understand. He's honest, thorough and will tell you what his plan is for you. I know it's so hard to find a good Dentist and I've been through so many starting from London, England, the military, different dentists at LA, and if you compare all the dentists with Dr. Lee, well I'll be truthful and honest to you all, Dr. Lee is the "Outstanding" one and I Highly Recommend him and his staff to be your new Dentist. Just read the other reviews and you'll find out why! If your appointment is 10am, you will be seated 10am. That's how good they are, so you have to be punctual. I don't complain if they're running a little late coz their service is phenomenal! I trust Dr. Lee and his staff a lot.
