The high ceilings and ornate decor makes the branch seem a bit posher than other Pizza Expresses across the city and the riverside location gives it a hint of al fresco romance. Be warned however, the world and his wife might have the same idea as you - so if you're planning to eat here before a show, call ahead and book a table. Make sure you leave yourselves plenty of time to park, eat and pick up your tickets from the box office too. The pizza here is damn delicious but it tastes much better savoured than eaten in five minutes flat! N.B. I'd given Pizza Express 4 stars for food and 3 stars for service. During busy times, the staff are rushed off their feet and it seems to take forever to order courses and pay.

That's worth a look in itself, believe me. Its unfathomably high ceilings with their ornate decorations make for an interesting experience. A word of warning, however... office lunchtimes, yes, those dreaded things, can get a little crazy here. While working at Salford Quays I joined some colleagues on a little trip out there, and we were informed by our waiter that there was a twenty minute wait once the food had been ordered. This is something that is difficult to understand when the restaurant doesn't seem to be particularly packed, but we trusted him. We did get our food when we were told, although some seemed to think it was a bit later... I didn't feel like I was waiting too long. In fact I thought twenty minutes was normal in a restaurant. Oh well, shows what I know. This doesn't bother me in the slightest, but I do understand the impatience of others, so use with caution, just like Diesel's Fuel for Life fragrances. I'm not exactly sure why that is. Other unique selling points include the nearby Lowry Outlet car park, the mall, if that's what you're into, the river views and of course attractions like the museum and theatre. Definitely a good option for lunch or dinner if you happen to find yourself Quayside.

Service was acceptable although I would not say speedy but where it does get four stars is consistency of quality. I love PH deep pans, they are the nicest pizzas that I have tasted and best of all, I have never had a bad one from Pizza Hut. Their garlic bread with cheese on is also divine and more favourable to anywhere else. Where I do feel some negativity is the recent decision to change the menus so I can no longer have my favourite spicy hot one, and the sizing is a little daft as well now. 9" regular (small) was £8 and 13" Large was £14. I mean that (the large) is Dominos level of rip off which I simply thought no chance. So they no longer have the size range they used to, and today I asked for extra onions and peppers and was told it would be £1.10 extra so I said fair enough. However on the bill it was £1.10 PER topping. I nearly had a heart attack and I don't mean from the cholesterol. I thought blooming good job I didn't ask for a large as the extras on a large are now £1.50 each!!! One pound fifty each I tell you, on top of the £14 for a large pizza. I think I'd have called the ambulance myself prior to the heart attack from bill shock, and possibly the police too for daylight robbery. However perhaps I protest too much as I did not venture that way today, I had starters, my regular pizza (which is basically the old small size) and shared an ice cream factory so all in all plus the other persons food it was £30 with refillable drinks so not too much to moan at. So if it wasn't for the reducing of size options and the ridiculous pricing for extras it would have been 5 stars, alas Pizza Hut will have four stars and be glad of it.

Don't bother. Food full of oil and designed to make you fat.read more

Having been impressed by their Prestwich branch, where I most recently awarded it a three-star rating (previously a four!), I decided to try this out after stumbling across Croma on UberEATS. Originally the app didn't allow me to specify gluten free - this is something which needs addressing however after a quick call with the store, the manager seemed friendly to assist and make sure my order was gluten-free and I could still get my food. The restaurant its self is an impressive old building, it is up a couple of steps to get in - which could be a problem for some. I ordered a Gluten Free Americana pizza, the pizza its-self was quite good quality, the passata was a little runny at times but overall the pizza was a decent pizza, especially for gluten-free, much beating most other takeaways I could have had including Domino. The overall prize was good too for delivery, my pizza came delivered the short half a mile journey to the Hilton Manchester Deansgate for £11, the delivery free was set by UberEATS and cost around £2.50 in that total. The pricing for eating in, however, is pretty much average, with it being a small restaurant they lack the offers which bigger chains do, meaning it could work out slightly more expensive than rivals, including (but not limited to) Bella, Pizza Express and Zizzi. The menu selection is pretty good too, if you like pizzas but maybe not so much for everything else. is this somewhere I'd order from or visit again? Yes, and it does definitely warrant a solid three-star rating, issues with pricing when dining inside, selection other than pizza including starters and sides, and the access issues mean I sadly don't feel I can go any higher than a score which would match Croma's other branch I've visited in Pretswich, of three-stars.
