Unprofessional, unreliable, shady, and definitely not trustworthy…read more I really rarely ever write a bad review such as this and I've written many reviews but I absolutely do not recommend bringing your Toyota car here for any repairs and don't trust anyone in their service department. TL:DR SUV was recalled for paint, no technical/internal issues prior, after picking up it starts having issues. Then was told an option to replace the part with a used part onsite from another vehicle of the same model and year BUT was given a quote/estimate to have to PAY for the used part. Was then basically threatened to either pay half for the part or it'll be taken out and the old part be put back in and the issues would persist and be unfixed. This is very shady when no paperwork was provided beforehand of an estimate cost of this part replacement. You can't just assume someone will pay for the part when it was not provided in any paperwork or even an amount was told. Honestly disappointed that there are shady dealerships like this trying to scam innocent citizens.

The guys in the shop often come out to explain what is going on and give me options. They never do work without calling and asking for my approval, and if the work is going to take a few hours they're quick to offer the shuttle around town or a loaner car in some cases. I was also told that there was really no point in doing the oil change on the vehicle, as I may decide to purchase another vehicle instead. I then took my vehicle to a second qualified mechanic without informing him of the first assessment. He however, completed the oil change and did not see any of the first mechanic's findings. When I presented him with the information from Chrysler's mechanic, he told me that although my vehicle was demonstrating normal wear and tear for a van of its age, he did not feel that Chrysler's service information was accurate. I am extremely disappointed with the service I received at Peterborough Chrysler and am concerned that other patrons may be receiving the same misinformation.

I purchased a used 2011 Jeep GC Overland, and traveled from Alberta to pick it up purely because it was $4000 cheaper than any comparable in Calgary. The dealership obviously raved about it's impeccable condition and previous owner status. The catch was that this vehicle has a TIPM issue. It doesn't happen all the time, but ever couple of weeks and at an increasing rate the vehicle will crank but not start!! Yes a 2011 vehicle that doesn't start... FUN! This is a known issue with Mopar, and was likely plaguing the previous owner who traded the vehicle in. When reaching out to Kawartha, I got no response for 3 weeks. Then finally a response, now 7 weeks have passed and Kawartha has yet to contact me about this issue. I've been completely ignored.. you will too. The other catch.. when I arrived from my 4 hour flight and 2 hour drive, the headlights were filled with moisture. The salesmen said something ridiculous about how the vehicle had just been washed. Yes, these headlights are supposed to be SEALED so that moisture doesn't build up in them and wreck the ballasts. The tail light lens was cracked and the rear hatch release button didn't work. None of this was communicated to be prior to arrival. The tires on this vehicle just barely passed our Alberta inspection, you buy a $36000 vehicle, and they threw some crappy irregularly worn tires on it. I have photos... the side treads were all unevenly worn due to alignment problems. So now I have a Jeep that doesn't start all the time... what did Kawartha do about it... NOTHING! Avoid this place it's not worth it, even if the price is lower, you're getting what you paid for, it's not a deal!
