Located in an old storefront on a sidestreet, I would have never found this place if my brother in law hadn't recommended it. A very pleasant surprise. Older place but clean, we ordered two whole-belly clamboats, they were happy to substitute cole slaw for fries, and a small order of fried scallops. All came out perfect, hot and fresh. Friendly people, delicious food, and while there is inside seating, there is nice outdoor patio where we sat since it was such a beautiful day. Highly recommend! read more

Great place for seafood, especially if you're traveling up and down the Interstate or just visiting like I was. Service was fine, quick food prep with a lot of options. The price was very fair considering some New England restaurants gouge their customer's for seafood. I had a scallop boat with fries and lobster roll. It was very good! They also have beer and soft drink options as well, not a bar but definitely a place to grab a cold one when you're thirsty. Plenty of seating with tables inside and out. Pete's Fish Market: A Hidden Gem I stopped by Pete's Fish Market on Friday, September 6, 2025, planning to pick up some lobster meat to upgrade a store-bought bisque. When I mentioned this to the owner, Pete, he suggested I try his lobster bisque instead. I'm glad I listened--what a pleasant surprise! Pete's bisque is flavorful without being overly salty, and it's packed with lobster. Every spoonful had shredded pieces, making it hearty and satisfying. While I wouldn't have minded a few bigger chunks, the bisque was absolutely delicious as is. When Pete asked why I hadn't visited before, I admitted I assumed fresher seafood meant driving to the shore. Turns out, I was wrong--Pete's has the freshness and quality right here. This was my first time here and it's very casual with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Easy parking and friendly staff. We had chowder, a seafood platter and a clam strip plate with an order of onion rings. Everything seemed fresh and cooked to perfection. It was delicious. I was pleasantly surprised. I was craving some fish and chips and I knew they have been there a while so I thought I'd try out their food. The counter guy was very friendly and accommodating and told me about the special that evening which was haddock pieces and fries for 7$ I think. And a bowl of NE clam chowda. The total was 13$ and it was delicious. Ok one thing. I'm 60 and the dining area was like a scene out of a nursing home/retirement facility. Where did all the old folks come from? LOL. I used to like the all you can eat clams and fries, but since Peter Ruggeri, sold it, they only allow you to get one extra helping. I used to go up 3-4 times for the clam strips, as when you went back for more your boat would be smaller, and I'd tell them clams only, no fries, and it was very nice to eat all you want but now, I hear it's a one refill only. I have lived in S Deerfield for 5 years and I never heard of this place. I got the shrimp boat (fried shrimp with fries). The food arrived hot and the shrimp were extremely fresh. Well worth the $10. I decided to drop $20 on a below-market-priced lobster roll. That was fantastic and loaded with fresh lobster. I am in love. The staff was very sweet and helpful because I use a walking stick. One of these days I'll actually get to eat there as opposed to order to go all the time. I like this place. Pete's is a great little gem of a local seafood house in Greenfield. VERY casual atmosphere with inside dining at small tables and picnic tables, as well as seasonal outside dining at picnic tables. There is no table service here. You simply walk up to the counter and place your order, and they call your name when it's ready. They have daily specials to look for and a regular menu. We love eating here! The food is always excellent and the prices are unbeatable. The dining area is so clean and always well stocked. I think this is one of the best places to eat in Greenfield. The indoor dining looks like an outdoor patio that they turned into a shelter, seemingly for the homeless.. people got a hot dog or just a soda and sat there for hours. Didn't really seem to bother the working here. No lobster even though the menu said it was available seasonally, I guess we are out of season... not really clear that wouldn't be an option. Don't be put off by the digs and calling this a restaurant is a stretch. The real deal in fried seafood. We had the fried clams excellent. The scallops were the same. I had the haddock while not good English fish and chip shop fare definitely good and a far cry from the Mrs.Paul's served in many places. If you can figure out what Pete's building was on in it's former life please let me know. The food was five star the service method crude. I randomly stumbled upon this place and I'm so glad I did. This place has a private parking lot also plenty of street parking available with a sidewalk. As soon as you walk in the establishment you feel the loving energy the customer service is really amazing and very helpful as I was trying to make my decision of what to eat. This my first time here so the waiter help me out with suggestions I ordered the fish scallops and shrimp and fries. What's the full came out it was so much food on the plate I was shocked you get a lot of portions for your moneys worth then I end up being the owner Pete and had a great conversation with them about the start of the business.
