The class was fun & she was a really great teacher. Since the class was small, there was more personalized attention. The only thing I don't like was the switching partners. I don't feel at all comfortable dancing with any other person other than my boyfriend. Plus, there was this one guy who I danced with who talked about how he's been going for awhile & knows everything, but he wasn't doing some stuff correctly & he was very forceful which kinda scared me. I was so not wanting to dance with him when I had to dance with him during the several times of switching partners. :(

We first joined SFDS when my daughter was two years old because we lived in the neighborhood and she wanted to wear a tutu. Fast forward and she is a dedicated dancer with SFDS. Her love of dance and dedication to ballet is due to the dedication, passion and skill of the business owner, Laura and her team. My daughter has landed roles in city-wide dance performances with the education she has had at SFDS. At the end of every year, like most practices, SFDS puts on a performance. This performance is above and beyond anything you wold imagine. I am talking the real deal - the costumes, the props, the whole performance is next level. I also want to add that Ms. Laura (the business owner) is a gem. She is a true teacher in the sense that she is vested in all of the children who attend her program. Recently, SFDS was forced to pivot their approach from in-person sessions to telepractice (due to COVID-19). Almost immediately, classes continued online - they have been excellent and during this crazy time its been something stable in my daughter's life. Thank you SFDS for providing a caring, challenging and fun space for the dancers!

So far we've learned the basics of Swing, Bachata, and Night Club 2 Step. David Blood, the instructor is patient and excellent, and his volunteer helpers are fantastic (thanks!). We looked him up on ratemyprofessor and he gets the fire logo which means he's a "hot" professor :-). Congats, David, on being so smooth! The class size started out pretty full, but if you stick it out for a few weeks, it gets down to about 20 people. It is pretty even between men and women, and you dance with everyone. The only pain point is the slightly annoying process of having to fill out a college application to get in. But the price and instruction are awesome, so it is well worth it! Highly recommend.

Each student has a portable square platform to dance on. There were ~ 13 students so it's not crowded at all. I was able to see and hear her so clearly. She is experienced (to explain body mechanics in addition to technique), patient, and funny. I have a lot of fun. There won't be a class on 8/30/14 because of Labor Day. Last day to add full-term credit classes in-person & on WEB4 is 9/5/14. Next class is 9/6/14. We need more students in the class to keep the class. $46/1 unit class a semester is more affordable than studio at $15-$20/class. Students can take this for pass/not pass instead of a grade. Also, Kathe has a bag of pretty clean looking tap shoes from people who gave her, left unclaimed for students to use. She is as accomodating as a nice teacher can be. Remodel FOR THE WIN! I almost don't want to leave this review because people should experience the…read moresame awe and wonder I got to yesterday at the reopening, but this place deserves all the stars. I have been a member here for 8+ years. I check in between 4-5x / week. Not only is the place IMMACULATE from literally the freshly painted ceiling to the new floors but they now offer elite equipment and body building machines from brands like Skelecore and Nautilus. They also still have a good amount of the previous hoist machines. Even with all the new equipment the place somehow feels bigger. The spacing is very well done and the flow from entry to the floor is well organized. In addition to the absolutely beautiful cleaning and maintenance, ALL machines are now in working order. There are new hip thrust machines, really nice new machines for back and chest, and the stand out is the epic leg day palace. What was once the basketball court has been converted into a literally haven of RACKS! If you have ever hit this gym during rush hour on a Tuesday you know getting a rack was sometimes a 30-45 minute wait. No more my friends! Racks on racks on racks. They also got a couple new leg presses and tons of new accessory machines. This gym has everything I personally need to hit all body parts and cardio for my split. The weights are varied. There are squat racks and platforms for training Olympic lifts as well as racks with safety cages. There are dumbbells up to 125lbs, cables, treadmills, stair masters, ellipticals and bikes. The group X room is open except during classes. I've tried a few classes here my favorite is Zumba with Maritza. I usually just check the App for the schedule. The pool area is basic and pretty much still the same except a lot cleaner now. There's a sauna and a steam room and a two lane pool. The bathrooms are as clean as you would expect a busy gym bathroom to be. And ten times cleaner than before. A lot of the staff have been here for years and years which speaks volumes. Everyone I have spoken to is friendly and helpful. Shout out to Salde and Sandra who are the best. The manager Francisco has been here since I can remember, is always kind and is very friendly. A couple years ago a better deal than I had been paying for came up and Francisco suggested I let my current membership expire or however it works and I got the yearly for a better price. He is always looking out for members and does his best to hold the ones who don't pick up after themselves accountable. Now that this place is spotless, it will mean that people who workout here MUST take care of the space better! I totally think it's possible but I'm also prepared to be that girl asking you to put your weights back pls. PARKING is easy if you don't go during peak rush hours. Overall the remodel took this gym from a 2/10 to a 10/10 but don't let me convince you until you see for yourself.

I have heard of this theater, but never actually went inside of it until now. it's a nice cozy theater with a stage and two level seating the orchestra and the section behind it. Any seat you can have a pretty good view point. I came here for an artist talk called "Art at the Presidio Theatre: Andrew Pick & Ursula Xanthe Young". Andrew Pick, a pastel and oil painter based in San Francisco, trained at both the City College of San Francisco and The Art Students League of New York. His plein air paintings capture the city's streets, skies, and hidden corners with immediacy and intimacy. Ursula Xanthe Young brings her signature blend of intricate architectural motifs, feminine iconography, and dreamlike cityscapes to the space. Her work--well known throughout the Bay and beyond--draws inspiration from the urban world around her, reimagining San Francisco as both myth and Memories. This show was moderated by returning artist Rhonel Roberts, whose own work opened this series. This is a chance to hear the artists discuss their process, their paths, and the shared landscapes that inspire them. Yes, there is much going in this area with one Presidio Go Shuttle bus and one muni bus 43 Masonic that actually comes into this park. The 30 Stockton bus stops by the Sports Basement and it is also a 4 minute walk up the stairs to the Presidio tops park. I happened to follow Ursula Xanthe Young work and found she did a skateboard exhibit at the Minnna art gallery too, so obviously I am going to check it out and that is why both these reviews are now posted back to back

It's a small and intimate theatre especially before patrons are let into the theatre, everyone just hung around in the prefunction area. They have a small snack bar where you can get some drinks and snacks. No food and drinks allowed inside the theatre. Restrooms also downstairs. Not very big but sufficient for the small theatre. This was my first experience with Panto and it was amazing, so festive and entertaining. I love it so much this will be my new holiday tradition going to this show starting this year on! Our seats were excellent! I did an extensive research on what seats to pick. My normal go to seat for like the Orpheum theatre will be the balcony but for this smaller theatre and the theme of the show, I decided orchestra will be the best bet. Turned out I was right. Panto is an interactive, fun, playful, laugh out loud kind of show that fit for both adults and kids. Not to forget the amazing costumes and stage sets, yay for Panto!
