I am not really the type of girl that goes clubbing but I can imagine someone who does would like the the clothes sold here. Hope and Havannah sell some unique looking party dresses at pretty cheap prices. Mind you, the quality does not look so great but if you are looking for a party dress you probably will only wear a few times, this shop has a lot of those. Amongst the party-gear is some cute casual wear. Again, these are the the greatest quality but the prices reflect that. Hope and Havannah is not a bad boutique and for a store that small, they have managed to cram a nice selection of affordable wear.

They should really change the name of this place to Homebodies…read more Formally known as Copperart, The copper and brass products slowly left the shelves and were replaced with everyday, contemporary and fun household items....And voila! Homeart was born. Located in the distinctly suburban Aspley, this place is a hit with mums (and that rare man who digs homewares.) Crammed on every shelf the products range from cookware, manchester and outdoor leisure gear to fitness products, bathmats, toys and electric salt and pepper mills. I've grown up around this store, but when I came back to it recently I was surprised at how small it was. (Or maybe I've had a freakish growth spurt without realizing?) In anycase, if you are around the hypermarket area this little shop is well worth a pop-in.

There's the Suitcase Rummage and Finders Keepers Market but the Young Designer Markets at Southbank remains my favourite. I once applied for a stall here when I was a second year QCA student and got turned down. A few weeks later, I actually walked down to the markets, saw the quality of work on display and nearly died of mortification for thinking I was in the same league. This market will bring out the bowerbird in anyone with their shiny buttons, badges, feathers and beads. There are also other original fashion designers (some fantastic dresses and funny t-shirts), homewares (keep an eye out for the funky lampshades with bird prints) and girlish hair accessories that will tempt even boys. So mark it down on your iphone and androids - first Sunday of the month. See you there.

Of course there are the regular stall holders but even some of these have different one-off items each time. A pair of ballet jiffies for your beloved small person is going to cost you around about $60. There's quite a large variety, from your heavily glittered rubber sandles (circa 1990), to almost corporate looking flatties. There are cutesy summer dresses for girls, and very conservative 'I'm pretending to be dad on his way to work' clothes for boys. The accessories are cute. I even found myself posing in front of a mirror holding a suitcase that was painted and shaped like a watermelon. They had some pretty sweet toys too, like a movable wooden dinosaur for example. They had all the kind of cool, hip kids toys that you want to buy for yourself. Honestly, I'm the kind of person who believes that kids are best dressed in rags, in pillowcases, or potato sacks, even cardboard boxes, as long as they're having fun. The freedom to do that lessens the older you get. The best thing about the cardboard box? It's free. If you do find anything in here you like, expect to pay through the nose for it.

Sometimes a designer brand may sneak into their wardrobe as a gift from a well meaning family friend but when it comes to their clothes, like most kids, they don't care what they wear. Seed is filled with lovely, matching, well tailored clothes for kids without any practical application. Kids below five spit up. They spill things. They roll around in mud. Unless the fabric is completely stain free, it doesn't matter how well tailored the outfit is. Added to this, kids grow at an exponential rate making the price of a shirt or a pair of shorts from Seeds ridiculously expensive as they'll outgrow it within a few months. Seed is the sort of shop I would visit to buy a special gift for a family friend's daughter or son but my own niece and nephew will be stuck in their uncool K-mart clothes for a few more years to come.

Stock availability is very good and sales associates are helpful when asked (special shoutout goes to Bosco who's an absolute rockstar!!!). The selection of trench coats is quite good and the store stocks a good range of heritage and seasonal coats. If you live in Brisbane it's worth a visit at least once.

In addition to the classic supermarket, pharmacy, bottle shop and cafés, there's important services like a post office, cheapie shop, doctor's surgery and a computer repair shop. But the things I REALLY love about this place are the things you don't find at every (especially small!) shopping centre: the library, op shop and fruit shop. I would like my local to be a little bigger - one glaring omission is a shoe repair place (I would patronage the heck out of that!) but it's pretty great and never crowded!

Not bad - there is the bus stop right out front, a post office that is open Saturdays, a $2 shop,…read moremassage, sports store, travel, real estate, Coles, cafes, bakery, Lifeline (op shop), fashion stores and knick knack stores. The clothing is very girly and the shop reflects this feminine style with frilled adornments and sweet lighting that throws an easy ambiance into the place. When you amble down Elizabeth Arcade and want to stroll into the many fashion shops on offer there, just make sure you make Rosebullet one of your destinations.
