I purchased a used Play Station 2 from this business yesterday. I was given a receipt for my…read morepurchase and told that I had 30 days to return it for an exchange if there was a problem with it. I brought it home and my excited children hooked it up to play it. ( I am a single disabled parent living on a fixed income so things like video games are a luxury). After 10 mins or so, the sound stopped working and the system itself kept resetting. This morning, when the store opened at 11am, my children and I went to exchange the faulty game console. The man who owned the store took the faulty console and my reciept. He returned a minute later and told me the serial # on the reciept and the serial # on the unit did not match. I explained to him that he must have made a mistake when entering the serial number because I was just there the evening before and bought it. We have no other PS2 video game systems in the house for me to have grabbed the wrong console or anything. He openly accused me of being a theif and a liar right in front of my kids and other customers in the store. He did exchange the unit but refused to give me back my reciept and kicked me and my kids out the the store.The replacement unit he gave me DOES NOT WORK. I can't return it or get my money back. Not only did he keep my receipt, but told me he's charge me with trespassing if I ever came into his store again. Upon looking into his business, I have discovered from blogs and consumer review sites that this seems to be common practice for this particular store. The owner/manager purposely records the wrong serial numbers of the used products he sells and them refuses to exchange them. He seems to only do this with items he knows are defective. My character has been defamed as well as my credibility in front of my children. I am a very honest person who won't even consider trying to pull a stunt like what he accused me of....trying to return a system not sold by him. I have been accused of fraud, thievery, and being a liar openly and publically. This is dishonest business practices and horrible service.
