Hello Petrocks, if you send a confirmation email that an online order is ready for pickup, and then cancel the order due to an algorithm that thinks it's fraud, I suggest you follow up with a second email to the customer so that they do not waste their time driving out to pick it up. Not faulting your efforts to avoid fraud, just know that at least one hit from your algorithm 'caught' a legit order for a long-time customer. Still a customer, just a suggestion. read more

I have been a loyal customer for over 15 years and was very disappointed during one of my recent visits. I asked Maria while in the wine aisle where I could find a bottle of 1924 Cabernet and she told me that she had no idea then walked away from me. I was appalled at the reaction that I got. I always have great customer service from the two gentlemen that normally are working in the evenings in the wine section offering me suggestions and are always being sure to find out if there was anything else they could help me with. I hope that she understands that customer service is why people shop at your store rather than going across the street. read more

My boyfriend was unsure of an ipa and the owner was unhelpful... he told him to get out the store he followed him around the store as if he was doing something wrong the was not helping in assisting him with an ipa... we went to Bottle King across the street... they were really helpful read more

Great whiskey and scotch selection... actually... great selection in general! The staff is always polite and friendly and ready to help if you're looking for something. While they can't always beat the prices of Bottle King, they absolutely dominate the selection of hard liquors and whiskies. read more

Good selection of beers and wines. I stopped in one night before a BYOB dinner. Walked into the store and was greeted right away by an amazing array of wine and beer. They had a great selection of NJ breweries as well as other domestics that aren't very easy to find. Would stop back in, if in the area. I live literally 1 minute away from a different liquor store in town (the one by the old Cost Cutters where the staff give you suspicious and unfriendly looks) but drive the few extra minutes down traffic-muddled 206 just to go to Petrocks. I love this liquor store. I'm a fan of all kinds of beer... everything from 40oz malt liquor to craft beer, and this place has a good selection of it all. Very helpful and friendly staff too. They also host craft beer & wine/cheese tastings which is pretty awesome. Great selection of wine as well. If you live in Hillsborough, Petrocks should be your go-to liquor store. Support the smaller guy! Their beer selection blows "Bottle King" out of the water anyway and they have more than enough wine to choose from if that's what you're looking for! read more

I live in Los Angeles and was searching for a shop that delivers Gasolina Rum Punch to the West Coast. After initially purchasing from another shop, my order was cancelled because the item was not in stock. I found Petrock's, who happened to be a lot cheaper and I received my order yesterday. You can find beers not usually available at other "discount or warehouse" type liquor stores. The ambiance is nice as well (unlike a warehouse). Staff is very helpful and friendly - most of the time, they'll offer to find something for you if they see that you're trying to search for something specific. If not, just ask! Great wine selection and everything is nicely organized, and they do have great deals on beers and wines as well. Free wine tastings on fri eve & beer tastings sat afternoons. You cannot beat the service at this liquor store. They are much smaller than the other local liquor stores but seem to have more variety. If there is anything that you want they will have it and have it on the shelf for you if you're a regular customer. If there's anything you don't see just ask. Suffice to say that I pass 2 liquor stores coming from home to Petrock's. They have an enormous selection of craft beer in sixes and singles. In addition to posting the standard beer ratings that most liquor stores have, they post staff recommendations and have staff dedicated to keeping craft brews stocked from far and wide. If there is something you want they can almost always order it for you. Highly recommended. read more
