Made reservations and got seated right away on a Thursday night just before 8pm. It was quite dead in the restaurant, there were only about 2 tables in such a big space. My friend and I were a bit worried that the food might not be fresh or tasty. We checked our coats, and looked at the menu. We ordered 2 glasses of white wine and both were great. We were surprised when we received a free starter like an amuse bouche which was pretty tasty. Then we received the beautifully presented octopus dish. We took photos and split it. The kitchen or waiter noticed us splitting the first dish and brought out the pasta and fish dish already split in 2 which was very considerate of them! We enjoyed the delicious flavourful food. Everyone so far tasted great! We had a bit of pasta each left over. Our waiter came and packed them into containers but when he brought them back he did not know which container belonged to which person and both were placed in one paper bag which confused us. We both needed a bag each as we were going our separate ways after dinner. He later on apologized for the mistake. We did order dessert and that too was thoughtfully split in 2. The ice cream was amazing. I would go back just for the ice cream! Delicious strawberry sauce and crunchy bits of pistachio and some sort of praline it was a great end to the meal. Would I go back? Chef Tony, Jack, and Benjamin all worked hard to give us a great Winterlicious experience! The small section at front of the restaurant that's visible from the street doesn't do this place justice; while it has the generic ambiance of a hotel restaurant, the back of the restaurant is more romantic and date-worthy. The upstairs bar is pretty, too! We liked the Winterlicious meal a great deal; stand-outs were the chicken soup, calamari, sea bream, and the ek-mek. Excellent Greek experience There is a good menu with various seafood options and traditional Greek cuisine positions. Portions are very good size, you'll be also amazed of their taste! Everything is very tasty, all ingredients are fresh! Wife was dying for a good Greek restaurant and found this place. Went in a little scared but were very pleasantly surprised. All of us loved the food even the kids. They don't have a kids menu but the beef and chicken souvlaki were both amazing and the whole family devoured it before I could even take a picture of it. Honestly, the food here is spectacular. Came in with a large group. Was seated right away, and our bottles of wine came immediately. Service was spot on. Never felt ignored. We started with a number of appetizers. Because of our large group everything was served family style. The daily crudo was snapper. So fresh and tasty. The octopus with the grilled tomatoes was grilled to perfection. Saganaki did not come out flaming but it was so perfectly grilled with lemon, we couldn't complain. 6 of us shared the super tender black cod. Apparently all of the seafood is from Diana's in Scarborough. A few people had the moussaka and loved it. Made with short ribs instead of lamb or beef. Will definitely be back again. I was looking for a restaurant for my partner's birthday near the movie theatre and found Petros82. I was able to book a table on OpenTable easily. We were booked in for dinner at 5:45, which was a bit early and the place was quite empty which meant we had our choice of table. We opted for a window seat near the front. The hostess was friendly and nice. We were served by the bartender and she was really lovely. We wanted to try a few things so we ordered 4 dishes to share. We left feeling full but not too full that we couldn't manage a popcorn at the movie. Before eating we walked around the restaurant per the owner's recommendation and had the chance to speak with the chef about the day's fish selection. They have new fish coming in each morning so it's unbeatably fresh. The focaccia and pringles came first. Both were delicious! Really enjoyed them. The octopus came next. It was a bit of a smaller portion but so tasty, especially the tomatoes. Finally, the souvlaki was really nice. The sauce drizzled over the skewers was amazing and the tzatziki was very light. I wasn't drinking, so our server offered to make me a mocktail which was delicious. I absolutely loved it. It was strawberry lavender! Service was excellent. The owner popped by twice and made sure we were enjoying ourselves. I made a note in my reservation that it was for a birthday and they were so kind and brought out a dessert for us to share. A large 2-storey Greek restaurant located in the Entertainment District is nice and convenient for nearby theatre goers and business people! The décor is also very classy. Perfect for a date or night of celebration. Been here recently twice before shows at the Princess of Wales, which is in walking distance. It's a seafood restaurant offering all the usual Greek food and presented beautifully and with warm service. Staff are attentive throughout. The second floor is only accessible by stairs, however, and while there is a single washroom stall on the main floor - the rest are upstairs. The price is middle to high. But Mirvish theatre subscribers get 15% off with proof of membership!Expect market prices for fresh fish and seafood, which you can pick out with your server at a display by the kitchen. Be prepared for the chef and staff to ask you to KISS the fish for a shot! They definitely like a good laugh and party here. Food wise, it's good. Solid options from a twist on moussaka (super creamy and tasty, albeit a bit heavy) to whole fish grilled and served deboned for you! I highly recommend the grilled calamari as a starter. Had a great dining experience there during the Summerlicious. Food was amazing, great drinks and ambience, they had DJ during Greek dinner time, and the service was excellent. Ordered Seafood Tigania (fried seafood), Branzino (fish) and Chocolate Torta (Greek yogurt chocolate tart). The fried seafood consisting of calamari, fish and zucchini, was as good as what you could get at any other restaurant, not greasy. The fish was incredible - it was well separated so that you don't have to worry about the bones. Crispy top skin and juicy white meat on the bottom, stuffed with greens and pickled veggies including mushrooms. Drizzled with fresh lemon juice, tasted amazing. Dessert was great too. The Greek chocolateexcellent yogurt was actually rich, tasted like mousse, and the flavour just got elevated with the pistachio crust. Loved it. Drinks were great. I really liked the ambience here, nice DJ and the music wasn't too loud. The purple lights added some intimacy. Service was really good. We had an exceptional time dining at this restaurant. Our server Sheldon was very informative, and had such a good knowledge base of the menu, which of course is very refreshing. We started our meal with the glazed octopus, and this was cooked to perfection. The texture was slightly firm, not rubbery at all. The seasoning they used really come through for this flavourful dish. It was sitting on a bed of potatoes and roasted tomatoes with some microgreens for decorations. We then had awhile fish, the branzino, grilled and seasoned well sitting on a bed of greens. The flavour of the fish really can through, and the sliced lemon really put the dish over the top. The freshness of the fish was incredible! For our main we ordered the pasta with the lobster and brandy sauce. If I had to pick a last meal before leaving this planet, I would honestly pick this one. I have not been so impressed with a pasta dish ever. The texture of these noodles were firm but almost chewy. The sauce was out of this world, thick, stuck to and flavoured this pasta dish in addition to the delicious flavour provided by the pasta. From what I was told the pasta was home made. I would go back again for just this dish, even thought the rest of the meal was absolutely perfect. Out last course was a baklava cheese cake, which was beautifully decorated, and tasted good. But I didn't enjoy this as much as I did the rest because I was so full from everything else. I think this dish could have used more honey, or more nuts. It was wrapped in philopastry, and gave it that crunch, and did have a good amount of filling which was appreciated (as most places skip the filling and increase the dough). But I was really looking forward to the baklava like soaking in sweet honey and toasted walnuts. So this was the only thing I would like to see a little different. Maybe have the dessert sit in that honey sauce from the baklava when warming it, so the bottom can be like an actual baklava, with that ooowy gooey goodness and more nuts. We enjoyed our meals with red wine from Greece, and sampled some wine before choosing our glasses. read more

We went to Petros82 last night (two daughters in tow, 8,12) and it was amazing. The service was outstanding - loving the fact that the chef was out - making our kids feel so seen and cared for. We had the pringles, feta wrapped in philo, a beautiful sea bream (incredibly fresh) , the kale salad (!) and the tomato hummus beet salad. I was just walking by and deciding to stop in, turned out to be some of the best fish I ever had. I sat at in the bar area, and was encouraged to look at the fresh fish. While I am not a huge fish eater, I was aiming for something healthier so decided to go that route. I have mixed feelings with the fresh fish on ice "show", sometimes it actually isn't that fish and I am not educated enough to pick the right fish. The chef met me at the area and we agreed the Black Bass was probably the best choice for me, in part as I never had this fish before. Turned out to be some of the best fish I ever had. When it was served, the presentation was beautiful, while it was filleted (a big deal for me), it was still presented as a fresh, whole fish. Not sure if it was the way it was prepared or the fish, but it was also great. Meaty, flavourful, could not have asked for more. I also ordered the kale salad, which was good but huge (easily could have served two or three). Before the fish, I started with the eggplant and zucchini "Pringles" (thin sliced fried veg) and while it tasted good, probably not as healthy as the rest of the meal. Petros82 is the best Greek food we've had in Toronto. We ordered the "Main Attraction" which included a tour of all the seafood and meats offered displayed on ice. The chef described each of the choices and gave a recommendation based on what we liked. We ordered a huge red snapper and it was the best fish we've had in a while. The presentation was beautiful, it wasn't too salty or oily and what surprised us the most was there almost no bones at all. My boyfriend and I decided to try this place for Valentine's Day, and we were overall very happy with our experience! The service was great, along with the food and atmosphere. The restaurant looks very upscale, and is quite large from the inside. We walked in and were greeted with complimentary cocktails for Valentine's Day which was great! After we sat down, we were told there was an open seafood bar, where we could pick out our dinner and they would cook it up for us. The chef came out and helped choose oysters for us to start. We ordered a dozen oysters and they were delicious! For mains, we picked out the the whole branzino, which was served on a bed of greens and pickled hot peppers. The taste was great, very flavourful and fresh tasting. My only wish was that the fish was boneless, because I ended up chewing small pieces of bone a few times while I was eating. We also ordered the lamb chops for another main which were absolutely delicious!! They were cooked to a perfect medium, very tender and flavourful, and I could taste a lot of the Greek flavouring coming through. We also shared the fingerling potatoes which were crispy and yummy. To end the night, we decided to try the loukamades (Greek donuts) served with vanilla ice cream which we LOVED. A perfectly sweet way to finish the meal! Overall we had a fun night and really enjoyed our meal! I called to tell them we would be a bit late for our reservation- they were very understanding and then realized when we got there that they had a lot of room anyway. Overall great experience- the fresh fish market was a bit kitchy sitting off to the side of the dining area, but it was fun. We did order fish from this "market" which was very fresh and well done. Menu is a bit confusing as to which are individual vs sharing platters. Lots of seafood on the menu which was amazing for us. Fried seafood plate- the batter could've been done a bit better- just average. Customer service was excellent though- a lot of attention but not overwhelming. Petros82 is located at the lobby of Hotel X Toronto. This is my first time, but not the last time. I summed up with one word, Fantastic! From service to atmosphere to food, one word can describe everything. Our waiter is a nice gentleman and regularly checked back with smile to make sure we are happy on both food and service. For food, we had seared tuna and arugula salad for appetizer. The tuna seasoned very well with black pepper, salad has a nice mixture of pear, cheese, arugula and nuts, very complex favor yet taste very good. Main courses for us are lobster spaghetti and miso cod. Portion for main courses are large compare to other restaurants. Price point is reasonable given it is inside a relatively high end hotel. Taste 10/10 for lobster tomato spaghetti. A little spicy touch enrich the flavor of the spaghetti. Also there are a lot of lobster meat which is great, more meat than I expected. Miso cod is done perfectly with a touch of soy sauce. I didn't order any dessert for tonight, but I will try it next time. Phenomenal experience with delicious seafood! Was in Toronto for a meeting and came here for dinner. The seafood was outstanding and the environment was fun. Chef Tony was a total character entertaining us while holding fish. Mya the server was delightful and genuinely enthusiastic. We shared the Snapper and Arctic Char both of which were prepared perfectly. Oysters were fresh and tasty. We had scallops that were so good that one of our party that didn't like scallops changed her mind and became a fan. We are guests of the hotel and dined the first evening of our stay. The service was good because our waitress was very sweet to us and the food was very good...hence why why came back the second evening. We waited 30 minutes to be attended. We wanted bar seating but the bartender ignored us because he was fighting with another staff member. It also seemed all the staff was fighting with each other. We decided to grab a regular table to get quicker service but we felt invisible the first 10-15 minutes after we sat. Meanwhile the owner was paying attention to certain tables making sure they were getting everything they needed. He walked past us so many times. Our waitress apologetically came by to take our order. She seemed very frazzled the entire time, probably due to the lack of organization at the restaurant. And to make matters worse we didn't even get to eat the dish we had come back for...because it was SOLD OUT. What kind of upscale restaurant sells out of their best dish on a Friday evening? 2 stars because the food was great. But the service needs to improve and the owner needs to pay attention to everyone at his restaurant...little did he know how much we were willing to spend to dine there. read more
