It's a sad occasion when you have to say a final goodbye to a furry loved one and the staff here are very kind and understanding. This cremation facility takes in all small animals including pet snakes. They have a central facility in Charlotte where they can take in large animals such as horses. You can request a viewing where they bring out your pet on a presentation table for your final goodbyes before the cremation. I elected to watch the cremation itself along w the viewing. The ovens are huge and it takes some time beforehand to get them started and producing the correct temperature. They have an automatic procedure that once the animal is placed on the moving platform it opens the oven doors and the animal goes in and doors close behind. But you don't have to watch that, you can stay in the office until the process is complete. In the meantime you can pick out an urn or keepsake box out of the many choices. Once you choose, you decide what the epitaph will be and while you wait they are able to engrave or otherwise personalize your choice. I chose a stone jar. This facility is a one stop facility from guiding you through the process, picking an urn or wooden box, to cremation and presenting your loved one in a beautiful urn or whatever container you choose, with engraving at the end of the process so you are able to take home your pets remains the same day. You can expect to spend 1-2 hrs when it is all said and done. It's a loving send off for a special friend.

While I hate that I am writing this review I am very pleased with them. They had Betty back to me in a few days. I went with the basic plan and the box is absolutely beautiful. They have her name, birthday and day she died underneath and it came with a very pretty plaque with her name that I can place on the box if I wish. They really did handle everything and I am so grateful for that. My only complaint was that they had her for four days before they cremated her and it was written down on a card they gave us. I would rather not know and it seems like a long time to wait when on the phone the lady said they would be doing it shortly after I paid.

I rushed her to the emergency vet, and they got her right in. They took her to the back and examined her. They came back with the news that they believed she had had a stroke. They told me they could do some extensive testing just to be sure, or we could do the humane thing and let her go. They left me in an exam room to think things over. After calling my mom to talk things through, I decided what was best was to let my dear cat go. They brought her into the exam room and brought her out of the sedation they had needed to give her in order to examine her, giving me some last moments alone with my beloved fur baby. When I told them I was ready, they gave her the injection. They asked me if I was going to cremate her or bury her, I told them I planned on burying her in my yard. They said to pull my car up to the door, and they would be out with her shortly. A few minutes later they came out with my cat in a nice cardboard casket, taped shut. I took her home and buried her. About a week later, I got a card in the mail from this practice. It was a sympathy card, signed by all the staff, and included several copies of my cat's pawprint.

But I was able to find Pet Pilgrimage. From the moment I called to speak with Becky my heart was a bit lighter that he was going to be taken care of the way would have. Our Buddy declined quickly and we had to make the difficult decision to have put to sleep on the Friday after Thanksgiving, 2022. Our appointment at the vet was not until 4:30pm but the folks at Pet Pilgrimage were so accommodating. Our vet had put Buddy in a box for us which we hand delivered to Pet Pilgrimage. I wanted to make sure Buddy was wrapped in his favorite blanket he had since he was a puppy, his favorite toy nestled in his arms and pictures of our family with him. When we dropped him off Lisa told us to take our time saying good bye. We spent some final moments with our little guy. I was able to cover him up, give him his Lamby, and kiss his sweet face. Lisa set our expectations to say I would receive a call first thing Monday morning to pick him up. With it being holiday I completely understood that it would take longer than the estimated 48 hours. Due to my own impatience of wanting Buddy home I called around 9:45am on Monday. Becky said I was going to be her first call at 10 - because she wanted me to have time to wake up before getting the news Buddy was ready and not open up a raw nerve. Thoughtful beyond words! I loved how she referred to him as my baby - because he is my baby... When we picked him up we were given a beautiful bag - and the living tree urn with Buddy's remains. The paw prints were perfect. What I realize now and I didn't at the time - was how anxious I was to get Buddy home. The folks at Pet Pilgrimage understood that for me. This was well worth the money we spent - it was the perfect was to honor Buddy and we are so blessed to found these folks - they truly are doing a wonderful act for people. Thank you all!

When this happens at home it's so sad, hard to think, your emotional and sad it's hard to make arrangements on weekends. We had to come share our experience with cremation it was beyond professional, compassionate, they treated us and our beautiful baby like we were the most important people in the world. We found Pet Pilgrimage located in Mooresville. It is located behind Cavin-Cook Funeral home building they have Pet Pilgrimage onsite. They are located in the far rear left of the parking lot behind the funeral home. This was by far one of the best decisions we've ever made. We did not want to use a commercial "pet crematory". We wanted a use a locally owned, compassionate company and wanted to support local business. Cavin-Cook.com was incredible. The prices that are posted are exactly what you will pay. Unless you add on other items. They are no pressure upsellers!!!!! We officially love these people, we were so grateful for them being open on a Sunday. Our baby is now back home in less than 24 hours after she was taken out of our arms. 5 all the way Top notch compassion and very comforting! Beautiful private rooms to stay with your baby as long as you need. They do not rush you at all. They are very patient, informative, and caring. We asked for a heart to be cut from her blanket they did it without a problem. Her remains and presentation returned to us was the most beautiful thing I've seen. https://petpilgrimage.com/ We chose the Remembrance Cremation Collection $240 PRIVATE CREMATION INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING: *A wood or biodegradable urn *24 Hour personal assistance *A comforting environment for final goodbyes and memorial services *Imprint of your pet's paw set in ceramic clay *Keepsake fur clipping *Remembrance wildflower seeds *Rainbow Bridge bookmark *Digital images of your pet's nose and paw print archived at Pet Pilgrimage for memorial keepsake items *Online pet memorial *Cremation certificate *Your pet is returned to you within 48 hours Whatever you do don't use GPS for pet pilgrimage use GPS address for Cavin-Cook Funeral home. Drive straight back behind all the buildings it's in the back left corner.
