I wish there was negative ZERO stars to rate this location. RUN FAR and FAST! Absolutely horrible store location! I am incredibly disappointed, to say the least at the negative customer service I experienced today at store #2296 grooming salon today. I am a disabled veteran who has been having my dog groomed at this store location for over a year with no issues. My 13-year-old senior dog Kanye's scheduled appointment time was at 6 pm. We arrived on time and had to wait 15 minutes before even being acknowledged. Once Ms. Celeste finally acknowledged us and begin her routine inspection of our dog, I explained to her that the scheduling system would not let me input the normal notes I leave for each reservation stating Kanye's health condition and request for express service due to his age and that the system instructed me to let an associate know what my notes are upon arrival. At this time I was told by Ms. Celeste that she was aware of the issue and that she would also recommend express service but she did not have time to provide that service for Kanye. She also stated that she does not offer express service for her 6 pm appointments. She ultimately refused to service my dog at our scheduled time, while offering for us to try to schedule again next week. When I expressed my concern about the lack of communication on the store's part, she called her manager, Ms. Julia to handle the complaint. When I relayed my concerns to the manager, Ms. Julia she confirmed that the store would not honor the scheduled appointment time and that I could schedule some other time. She then hurriedly said the next available times and when I asked her to repeat them she stood still and stared at me for about 2 minutes, then stormed out of the grooming salon. I asked another employee if they could help us schedule a new appointment time (grooming barber) and she radioed back to Ms. Julia to see if she was returning to finish assisting us. At this time Ms. Julia came back into the grooming salon and stated that she would not repeat the next available appointment times and asked me to leave. I asked on what grounds and she said because she can't help me and will not repeat the next available times for us to return. I reminded Ms. Julia that the only reason I am having to reschedule is because of the store's lack of communication she decided to get an appointment card and write the available dates and times down on it. A simple phone call letting me know about the express service in advance and a genuine apology for the inconvenience would have been the professional way to handle the scheduling issue. My complaint was handled unsatisfactorily by the manager and Ms. Julia's threatening and hostile tone and handling of the situation in front of my special needs 11-year-old son is truly distressing and goes against PetSmart's code of ethics. read more

** PLEASE READ!!*** PETSMART GONZALES LA. My Dog has been going there for a few years, there was a great groomer that left 3 years ago (Elise) They wouldn't tell me where she went, the groomer Jodi, was really good for a few times I brought my dog, the last 3 times (which is 3 months apart, each time I bring him) got worse there. It used to be 3 hours minimum is the longest time frame (which is a long time) The last 2 times I brought my dog (the time frame was 3/4 hours, "they said") TODAY again was 5 hours and I HAD TO CALL AGAIN and the groomer, Jodi, left without letting me know my pet was done, had someone else tell me ONLY bc I CALLED! Then they told me he peed in the tub, well YEAH if he sitting in a small kennel when his apmt is at 12:30pm and doesn't get seen for hours yeah, he is gonna pee. The person that answered the phone when I called to check on my dog had the audacity to tell me I need to ask JodI next time if he can be seen by her again because he peed in the bathing tub. For one, if my dogs apmt is at 12:30pm then GROOM my dog at 12:30! DONT OVERBOOK & put him in a kennel For 3/4/hours, then groom him the 5th hour, then complain bc he peed in The bathing tub! It's gotten worse and worse the last few times I brought my dog! Jodi does a good job BUT the overbooking and leaving your pets in kennels for 5 hours isn't ok!!!! Plus they charge $89 for that! If anyone thinks of their pets as family then don't bring them there. read more

Well I guess I could go 5 stars but it's tough for me to throw one out cause all I'll ever use this place for is if I don't want to go to WallyWorld to pick up a bag of chow for my bloodhound... I mean if I used their grooming facilities or other services maybe this would be more than a solid to high 4 at which I rate it... This location is brand new to Gonzales and opened no more than 2 months ago...if you got a pet then this place is for you...from a fish, to a cat, to a dog or even an alternative pet (lizard, turtle etc...) this place has what you need to look after your 'little buddy'... Stopped in for some chow and they carry numerous brands for dogs and cats...from wet food to dry food...numerous choices in toys, leashes, collars, training aids, bedding, travel cages etc... Like stated above if you got a pet need this place can most likely fill it...Stop in and see for yourself!! read more

If I could give it zero stars I would. We brought my golden doodle to be groomed and while she is anxious around people she is not familiar with we have never had an issue before. To my surprise when 3 hours later we get a phone call saying she needs sedation and they finished shaving her but weren't able to do the finishing touches. We pick her up and at this point I wished I stopped to say something then but my poor dog was about ready to run out the door. She is patchy and shaved in places almost to the skin as if they didn't use any type of guard her paws are bright red and irritated. We got home my cuddly dog wouldn't even let us touch her she slept all day and cleaned herself. I'm highly disappointed as to why they tried to even touch her instead of calling us apologizing saying they couldn't do the haircut she is too anxious. Now my dog is traumatized. Oh and they made us pay for it. read more

Great Service and very friendly staff. They always have a smile on their face and never hesitate to help with any questions you may have. My 13 yr old dachshund has always been aggressive with getting her nails clipped, but NEVER at Pets Mart. They are so gentle and make her feel safe and comfortable. I have also brought my Weimaraners to get their nails filed down and same wonderful service for them as well. Today, I brought a foster dog in to be trimmed, bathed, the works..... She is a Great Pyrenees and again another happy pup and I could not have been more pleased. Excellent Service and she looks beautiful. Needless to say, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND bringing your four-legged baby to the Pets Mart Groomers. read more

Until now I always liked Pet Smart! I won't shop there again. Although the store in Gonzales, LA had just closed for the evening, the doors were still open and my husband went in. We were in desperate need of a bottle or some type of product/feeding tool to feed two very young starving kittens. They were found alone without their mother. We are big hearted people and thought that we would definitely get what we needed to help the kittens but because of some corporation rule regarding closed registers for the evening the two associates working would not help us. I understand policies but this company is in the animal business. We offered to pay with cash and keep the change and asked them to just ring it up the next day. But that seemed to be too much to ask for. No help what so ever. What a shame! Where is the compassion in this world and what about customer service! We were not just stopping in late to shop but just trying to help two helpless baby kittens. read more

Smaller store but staff is very friendly. We usually get our German shepherd groomed here. Once when it was pouring rain they just had me pull my car up to the door and brought my dog out so she wouldn't get wet and smelly after just getting a fresh bath! Thought that was awesome of them! read more
