My dog was seriously injured during his grooming appointment the groomer Mariah cut his chest open with her shears, and they tried to downplay it as a "surface-level cut." It was not surface level my dog had to be rushed to the vet, where he ended up with two staples and surgical tape. What's even worse is how the situation was handled afterward. They drove my dog to the vet without my knowledge or consent and only called me after they were already there. The manager Chris refused to provide me with the waiver I signed, an incident report, or any explanation of what steps they're taking to prevent something like this from happening again. They even sent the same untrained groomer with my injured dog instead of a manager or someone qualified. It's been days and they still won't return my calls. The lack of professionalism, accountability, and basic compassion is unbelievable. Do not book here. Your pet's safety is not worth the risk. read more

I went in to make a return and the older blond cashier lady was very pushy as to why I was returning the items. I answered her the first time saying I changed my mind and didn't need them after all. She kept insisting why ? Why I was returning the stuff? So I answered explaining my life story about why I was making the return. After I had made the return she went off saying she should call the cops. Like WTF! Making me feel like I'm a criminal all because I was legally making a return and the color of my skin. I'm disabled with a recently adopted rescue dog that has undisclosed allergies. I've been at Petsmart many times but most recently for otc medication recommended by my vet. This last time a very questionable looking (dirty, booty shorts, sores on the legs, dirty coat and dirty hair) person was in the same aisle as me and was shoveling things into a satchel. I just needed the one item so beat them to the front of the store so I pointed the person out as they were parading out of the store but was told there was nothing they could do????!! Do you know how angry that make honest people feel? Very Angry! When I left I saw them standing on the street corner lighting a cigarette... seems crime at Petsmart DOES pay. read more

And there are plenty of places to take fur babies, but I drive from Petaluma to Rohnert Park just for her services, she exude confidence when I hand the reins to her. They do the whole grooming package and offer specials, so seek those out, and most importantly don't forget to tip your groomer. read more

I've always liked this Petsmart when comparing to other Petsmarts or even some pet stores. We like their grooming service. Misty has been our dog's (Oaky) groomer multiple times and she's great. Unfortunately we found out she will be moving away! But they always do a good job. Oaky's favorite toys always end up being from this Petsmart for some reason, even if it's just a simple squeaky toy ball. They're always greeting you when you walk in. The store is clean and stays organized. Always have treats for your dog at the counter. We have also gotten pet fish and a cat (now named Kiwi) from here. read more

He just put them on the counter behind him. My cans started to fall all over the floor. I had to ask him to please hand a can to me since it was under his feet. I was in today Saturday April 19th at 3pm to exchange dog food my dog didn't like. Was 1st dealing with extremely nice young man who was very helpful. Told me to go get new food for exchange but when I got back the gut was gone. An older gentleman claiming to be the boss of the boss was the rudest man I ever met. Told me no exchange and the other guy was wrong. I was so upset after his rudness and back n forth bickering, gat I finally paid for new bag and told him to keep the other bag. Man was horrible. Gosh......this PetSmart is full of goodies and necessities, for all of your pets crawling, prancing, swimming, barking and purring. They have a vet, who helped me with a prescription cat food for my picky eater kitty. The receptionist was awesome. She was kind, helpful and fun to chat with. She loves animals for sure. As I said, picky eater kitty needed some food. After trying the prescription food, I did some reading online about other picky eater kitties. I went down to the very clearly marked cat food aisles and found what I was look for right away. My cat is happy and so are we. This place is huge. They have kitty adoptions, Guinea pigs, fish, birds and more. They also have toys, food and treats for all of them. I discovered they reward you for shopping there with' 'Treats Points.' And, they often have specials ie: buy 10 get 2. Our kitty eats only 1 or, 2 varieties of food right now. So, this helps with the cost. This pet smart is ginormous. It's a huge warehouse. They really do have everything The staff is super nice, too. Again, most everyone loves animals. Also, they take back food the kitty doesn't like, and credit my card or give me cash right away. The only criticism is, I sometimes have trouble finding team members for help on the floor. And, it takes 'some' members a long time to ask for assistance up front when it is busy. I have had trouble with other locations. So, I was originally not happy this was the closest pet business but, this location changed my opinion. I recommend you try them out. read more

Just left 35 min ago notice my 40$ dog harness is missing so I went all the way back with my receipt and they tell me they don't see it! No one found it in a cart, they tell me it wasn't left on the counter, although the clerk packed everything into my new dog toy basket!! So sorry your out 40 bucks!! This review is specifically related to their SERVICE. I was on vacation and ran into an issue (ant infestation!) with my dog's specialized food. I went to the store and frantically searched the shelves for what I needed. After trying to find what I needed, I found an associate on the floor and asked for assistance. I feel terrible that I don't remember his name, but he stopped what he was doing and immediately stepped in to help! He went and spoke to a manager and they searched their computer to find me exactly what I needed! What a tremendous relief! My dog is a senior, and I just couldn't risk giving her food that could potentially make her sick. They understood the situation and went the extra mile to ensure that my "pup" had what she needed. We ordered an urgent same-day delivery for a dog crate via DoorDash. The DD driver arrived with a bag of dog food for "Natashia". Delivery person said "Well someone else must have taken delivery of your order." We had to drive to the store to pick up the crate in person. DON'T use the delivery service. Which is where you stand in liiiiine. Thank you sweet genius. One time we visited I got a few chews on a fish skin twisty thing. Last time I got to bin surf and lick goodies at the cash wrap while Auntie was paying. Please don't redecorate. Auntie hates your product placement but I love it! It wouldn't matter where you place inventory anyways because she can't even grab her items correctly. Another win for me when she buys a conditioner instead of shampoo by mistake. This is a pretty typical PetSmart, located conveniently off Hwy 101 in Rohnert Park. They had a decent selection of beta fish and I only found one dead one and one empty cup (the dead one looked like it had been there a while and regarding the empty cup the employee I notified said "I don't know who would steal a fish!?") This store has a variety of live pets for sale including freshwater fish, turtles (one of which looked VERY sad), small birds, small rodents/mammals and small amphibians and reptiles and large insects/bugs. All of the animals looked relatively well cared for and generally happy, though I HATE seeing birds housed at ground level - it is very stressful for most birds - they need to be up higher, and as I said one turtle looked in poor health. Good selection of dog and cat food, small animal supplies and accessories and some good dog puzzle toys. It's a big store, it's a chain store and they sell live animals. It is what it is. read more

I've been sitting on this since it happened and honestly I feel it would be an injustice to my puppy if I didn't warn others. Saturday 4/7 I took my dog to get groomed and he normally comes here religiously every three weeks with the same person. I won't be saying names as I hope she can take this a learning lesson. We were loyal to her and I'm still shocked this happened. We had an appointment booked at 10 AM. My girlfriend brought him in and she just asked that our groomer cut a little bit shorter on his legs because a lot of little things get stuck in them. Our groomer agreed that she wouldn't go shorter than a level 4 because there's no need for it. Keep in mind we only mentioned his legs. He's there for three hours and when he's ready to get picked up, she calls me and tells me he was matted, but she'll talk to me when I get there. I wouldn't ever imagine what the outcome really was. My girlfriend picks him up and our groomer explains herself for why she had to go basically to the bone bald which is claiming he was matted and then decided to bring him out after which felt like she was hiding him. My dog is like my child he gets brushed daily. The only areas he was matted honestly was under his armpits, which I usually handle at home, but I haven't had the time to cut myself. For him to be practically bald is insane, considering we go every 3 weeks that would be impossible for him to get that severely "matted" for this haircut to be necessary. Better yet I had brushed through his entire hair the night before so I definitely would have known. I would've appreciated honesty rather than an awful excuse. So in my eyes, three things could've happened. 1, he moved so she had to go bald. 2, she messed up so she had to go bald or 3, some random person who I didn't book with, cut him and they don't know what they're doing. To say it was because he was matted is so far from the truth and obviously not the case. For the future I hope they can have the most bare minimum decency to call the owner before making such a rash decision. That should've been up to me to decide. If you can't take on the job you could've called me. If you're on a time crunch, let's reschedule. Anything but making him bald would've been better. It's only day 1 and he's wearing sweaters in 70 degree weather because he's shaky from being cold and people are asking if I just got him from the shelter. His hair gave him personality, it made him, him. It'll grow back but it is the principle of it all. He's only 6 months and it's safe to say he'll be traumatized for a while. I'm so disappointed and I should've left a long time ago. To support a chain like this, they will eventually stop caring. Spend the extra money to get it done locally with someone who actually cares about your pet. There's plenty of places and I wish I left before this happened. read more

I needed to get my special needs cat her Hill's Prescription Diet cat food. The only location that had it in stock was the Rohnert Park location and it was limited stock on hand. I called to talk to the Banfield pharmacy since I knew I would need a Rx for it, only to find out that they were closed today. I talked to Chris who explained the procedure to me. I had my Doctor's Rx but needed to bring it into Banfield to get their Rx. Since they were closed he explained they could still fill it but that I would need the Banfield Rx next time. Since I was worried they may run out of her food, I opted not to wait and ran right over for it. I was lucky enough not only to get her food, but to talk to Chris and thank him for his help. He was polite, courteous, and knowledgeable. He even answered other questions I had. Thank you PetSmart for loving our babies as much as we do! read more

AVOID THE GROOMING!!! I've been going to their groomers for 8 years but never again! They only have 1 girl left, Dejane, and she is absolutely awful. Last year I made an appointment with her and she butchered my dog. I let it go at the time because it was only hair and I was able to fix it when we got home. This time I went to make an appointment and she was the only person showing as available for the next 2 months. I went against my gut and booked the appointment anyway thinking maybe she was inexperienced last year and now she's had a chance to improve...NOPE. She destroyed his hair, missed 3 finger nails (when I paid for the grind), didn't do anything with his head or tail (specifically asked to cut the tail) and my poor guy was traumatized when I picked him up after they had him for THREE HOURS! Thank goodness for Miranda, the manager she's amazing and instantly offered my money back and recommended the Santa Rosa store instead. She explained Dejane is their only groomer now. Save yourself the stress, time and money. Not sure how this girl has been there for a year, they're better off closing the grooming salon. read more

Kids love coming in and seeing the pets they have in the cages. Making our way past the crickets the two male employees joked with the kids about having a cricket for a snack. The larger ones are crunchy like chips. They talked to us a little bit about the snake they had in an enclosure on the cart to put him in a different one. Friendly staff here who have helped me get my aquarium together, and have provided healthy fish for it, to boot. I've had some previous issues with fish from another local pet store dying relatively soon, but all of my PetSmart fish are still alive and kicking - and have been fairly healthy from the start! I've found that the variety of fish and aquatic plants they have is fairly diverse, and a diverse supply of products allows people the chance to shop around for the items they need in a variety of sizes or amounts. The only issue I've experienced here is that the store can seemed understaffed, at times. It's a fairly large store, and definitely needs more than two people scheduled, if not just for the sheer size of space to cover. It's not any fault of the employees, and maybe not even the fault of management if it's more of a corporate issue, but getting some additional staff wouldn't be a bad idea! read more

This place has gone to hell in the last few months. I can't believe it!! My favorite employee left - I don't blame her, she was always running around trying to do 10 things at once. She was so full of info though, that's what made her great. Now there's no one that has that level knowledge about the animals! Last time I went in there one of the tortoises had gotten itself super wedged and had tried to dig its way out and filled its water bowl with the dirt which had been there so long it had already started to dry out and that takes over 24 hours to happen, so I can see how the care of the animals has changed since even one person I like has left but I've also noticed a couple more people are gone too and I'm really bummed out because they're all people I liked. And this new manager that started a few months ago I guess or like last fall or whatever, it's kind of an asshat I'm not a fan. He's annoying and doesn't seem to help his people. But all in all the store could so be cleaner I understand that supplies suck, hence so many empty shelves, but if the knowledgeable people are going to get fed up and leave at least try to replace them with people that have decent knowledge.... Petsmart has come along way since I worked there briefly as a teenager, 15 years ago. They are moving in the right direction. Petsmart has a huge variety of supplies for dogs, cats, fish, reptiles and other small and furry creatures of the earth. Like any other retail store, prices can be high to cover cost of running a business. I mainly come into these big box pet store to cruise for discounts and deals. Today, I was able to pick up a pack of 240 poop bags for $6.27 NOW THAT'S A DEAL!!!!!! I also scored a #10 & #40 size clipper blade for only $13.47 and $13.57 each. Now thats cheaper than what I buy them for as wholesale through Ryan's Pet Supplies out of Arizona. I do like how Petsmart allows Rescue agency to come set up to adopt out homeless animals. That is a super plus to me. However, I had asked a sales associate about Betta fish and she corrected me and replied "Ohhhh.....YOU MEAN, Siamese Fighting Fish". Then carried on about how they "Fight". That that might give someone the wrong idea. Or might give someone a bad idea. Just my two cents. read more

I took my dog to get groomed. The employee doing my grooming was eager to start her break when I got there, although I had booked my appointment with her nearly a week in advance. She didn't inform me when my dog was ready to get picked up, but I saw her leave the building so I went in to get my dog. I paid $40 and nothing appears to have been done. Her nails were still very long, her hair was extremely uneven and long. It also didn't look like they cleaned her face. Will not be coming here again. read more
