She was a replacement for our regular cat groomer, who consistently provided excellent service and never experienced any issues with my two cats. Jasmine stated that she would make a note that one of my cats does not tolerate the use of a blow dryer. However, during the appointment, she provided inconsistent and conflicting accounts regarding which cat had allegedly attacked her, ultimately changing which cat she claimed was responsible. When my cat was returned to me, the cat she identified as having attacked her had a leash tightened around her neck to such an extent that she was visibly struggling to breathe. This was extremely distressing and entirely unacceptable. Both my cats were soaking wet , nails not cut , and clearly not groomed for the money spent. WOW! What a wonderful shopping experience thanks to Angel. I walked in knowing I wanted to buy a hamster. I was browsing around looking at the different hamsters. While doing so, Angel (an employee) stopped me and asked if I needed help. He literally walked around the store with me showing me everything I needed for my new pet. i brought my cat here today for her first nail trim at the groomers. i have only had her since april 2024 and she is very young still but shes not letting my trim her front paws at home anymore. she lets me do her back feet and turns into a wiggly worm when i reach for her front paws. i originally came over the weekend, which i didnt know their cat groomers were off, so i came back today (tuesday), and they were able to take her in for a walk in trim within 20 minutes. since my cat has never been here, they just asked that i provided my cats rabies paperwork which was no biggie. i believe the women who helped was sandy (the cat groomer), and another groomer who i wasnt able to catch the name of (both of which were super nice). everyone was very sweet and she was the only pet in the grooming room during her trim so i feel that may have helped. although she does like dogs, i feel she wouldve been too excited lol. anyways it took less than 5 minutes and they said she was very good and sweet. apparently she went straight back into her carrier with no issue! only $15, plus a treat for being such a good kitty. i will 100% be bringing her back for future trims. read more

My groomer for them is Jasmine O, I started taking mason here when he was about 2 after having so many bad experiences at private groomers. Let me tell you she won't disappoint you and she is so loving and caring towards both my dogs. Kai she's still a puppy and had two haircuts . The first one she gave Jasmine such a hard time but she was able to give her an awesome first haircut. My mason loves her. I have all my family and friend going to Jasmine. I'm also a hairdresser so I referred my clients to her. I had to get Kai's nails cut in a spare of the moment when the salon was about to close and Sandy did them since Jasmine was off. My pet cat has recently made the transition over from "adult" cat to "senior" cat, and that necessitates me buying him Science Diet food, which is not something they carry at most stores like Target or Wal-Mart. I was referred to this Petsmart by my vet so I knew it was a safe bet to check out for my fuzzball's needs. Located in a shopping center with a humongous Shop Rite, storage facility, Chase bank and restaurant Petsmart is definitely located in an ideal spot. The store is *huge* and is not just a pet shop or pet food joint. Instead, it is more of an all-in-one pet center. In addition to carrying an amazing array of pet food and care products, Petsmart also boasts a veterinary service, an adoption center and a dog training area with certified dog trainers. I've witnessed these classes and they're usually group classes where everyone appears to be having a lot of fun. The prices at this location seem reasonable. I say "seem" since I've only ever bought one type of cat food here, but if you sign up for their Petsmart card you wind up paying .79 cents instead of .95 cents for a can of Science Diet senior food, not a bad discount! Among the animals the store sells are gerbils, birds, hamsters, lizards and fish. Cats and dogs are only available via adoption, which I was happy to see (there are tons of animals who need adoption, so why spend hundreds of dollars on one?). Service is great, with plenty of helpful sales people on the floor and fast check out. I've made Petsmart a regular stop on my shopping route, I'd suggest you do the same if you're a pet owner. read more

I've always had good experiences here. The employees are all trained and helpful if you are looking for a particular product for your pet. They have a large selection of cat and dog food: both low end and high end. And I've also found their generic food to be great. It's a one stop shop for all your pet needs. There's a large selection of fish and they have other pets available for sale. There are groomers available for dogs and there is a vet office on site. It's a very pet friendly store so feel free to bring your dog. Your cat might freak out a bit, though. They work with the local shelter for cat adoption so if you are interested, definitely stop by on the weekend. And they have cats available for adoption as well on site. I think every thing is reasonably priced and readily available. read more

To date I only give it 4 stars because the pandemic is beginning to show in their deliveries. I find I have to drive out of my area to get my pet needs completed. This PetSmart of Woodbridge (NJ) (in the large Shop-rite mall) They are becoming limited on things you could normally go right in and grab... anytime... what I do now is make sure I am there on delivery day! The managers are very very pleasant ,helpful and knowledgeable of what they have and sell, there is no up-sale when dealing with anyone in the store. At least not when I was being assisted., The place is hella clean, The cashier closest to the doors , greet everyone who come through , this is noticeable (Petco don't do it) . Prices are as expected. My biggest wish is that they check the pet owners who think their pets are trained but when they come in environments where there are other types of pets, they become loud and uncontrollable. I think their owners should be spoken too. I also think the Cat adoption area should have better hours! . I only gave this store 4 stars because supplies. They really upped the selection when it comes to the fish section. We bought four giant danios, a pleco and a rad tailed shark and all seem to be healthy. The lady who worked at the section was nice a pretty knowledgeable. Some fish seemed pretty shocked and a few were dead which concerns me when it comes to the wellbeing of the fish we bought, but other than that is was good. read more

I like going here for all my puppy needs. Recently it was my puppy's birthday so I was able to go online and navigate through their website for a grooming service. It allows you to book your schedule and choose your favorite groomer. Their hours are amazing and the groomers are so friendly! I love how they have windows looking into their grooming store and how the employees are great at explaining if you have any questions. After your session, the groomer gives you a "report card" highlighting the service. The store has a great variety of toys for not just big dogs but tiny ones too! The staff is very friendly, knowledgeable, and they're always happy to help or make recommendations (and very good ones at that). I couldn't get my kitten to eat anything at all, and a kind older woman that works there told me about a great food called Nutro. She told me to try and that if my cat didn't like it we could return the bag at full price. I took her advice and my cat loved the food and has been eating it for the past 8 years. Anytime I've came here looking for any guidance, I've always been led in the right direction by the staff. I've been to many pet stores in Edison and this one is by far the cleanest, most organized, and you can find everything you need for your pet. They even have a hospital inside the store and grooming services. The moment I went in, I was actually surprised that it has a pleasant smell unlike other pet stores I've been to, I just want to puke. I was shopping for guinea pig food and a sales person quickly asked me if i needed help. Then I went to the fish aisle to buy a fish tank and another sales person specializing on fish came to help us. Overall, they are very attentive and keep this place clean! read more

I visit this PetSmart just about every 1-2 weeks, to pick up food and/or treats for my dog. As far as just a store, its good - large selection of foods and items needed for any of your furry/feathered/scaled friends. So for that its completely fine. My issue is with the groomers. I have taken my dog there about 3 times just to get her nails clipped and filed. I can't do it myself because she doesn't hold still for me. Usually its no problem getting it done there, other than as a walk in, it can be really inconvenient making me wait with a dog who is hyper and knows what she's in for. The last 2 times there has been a girl there who has taken care of my pup - I don't know names but she's a blonde girl with a very friendly disposition. Now as I said, my dog doesn't hold still for me, and it usually takes 2 of them - one to hold her and the other to clip. However, the last time she was taken in (by my boyfriend), he complained to me that whoever cut her nails last (not the cheery blonde) was really really rough with my dog, yanking on her paws and really manhandling her. Again, I know my dog is not the easiest to work with but I would have rather she tell my boyfriend either a) she can't or b) come back when she has help. This isn't the first time I've seen them manhandle dogs. Sometimes while waiting for my dog, I watch the groomers yank and pull at the grooms. In particular one Schnauzer was in for a clip and I guess was moving a little too much and I stood there and watch the groomer grab him by his fur below his beard and yank him hard. So with what my own dog has experienced and what I've seen on my own, I won't be going back to get her taken care of there. read more

This Petsmart is A-OK. This is the most convenient pet store now in the area since Animals and Things closed. But the place is always a mess. The racks are all cluttered. Like a clothing store with all the clothes unfolded and thrown everywhere. And all the things I come in to buy always seemed out of stock on the shelf. They have to get it from the back. Being a big fish guy, the aquarium area is a disappointment. It reminds me of the one that Walmart has. And I believe they believe in a 1 cashier policy. The line can get long and slow. They need a better way of scanning someone who buys 15 dog food cans. The only upside is the employees are nice. When the see me shake my head at a messy isle, they apologize. When the dog treats is out of stock, they say sorry and hurry to the back to get it for me. I am in a rush to get in and out, but sometimes the long wait times dont matter when you see people bring there pets in. read more

Do not bring your dog to PetSmart Woodbridge, NJ. I figured I'd try it because it's out in the open so my dogs couldn't be mistreated. I was so wrong. I dropped off my bichon mix and labradoodle and got a call within half an hour that the Bichon was too aggressive (she's 5 years old, ten pounds and has never bitten anyone.) So they wouldn't be able to "finish" her. When I went to pick her up, her body was shaved and her head was untouched, but most importantly, her tail had a completely bald spot which is clearly painful to her now. The labradoodle beautiful coat was also completely shaved, and both his ears are seeping blood. Obviously I am caring for them and will likely have to take them to the vet,but they are both traumatized and of course look (and smell) way worse than they did when I brought them. I'm sad and angry and never write bad reviews but I want to keep others from making the mistake I made. By the way, the "service" exactly twice what I've paid at another local groomer. read more

I came here to get my dog groomed and got horrible results. I asked the groomers to trim my dogs hair (morkie) a bit shorter but still keep him fluffy because I didn't want him too short short. So, they told me that because he had a knot behind his ear and one by his butt. And that those areas they would go short but on the rest it would be fuller.... so I told them okay, but not bald. When I arrived to pick him up, he was BALD. Looked like a rat!! Also, I understand theres packages to grind nails, ear cleaning and anal gland checked however, their grinding of the nails was horrible, he scratches! Then his penis was hurt and I had to take him to the vet the next day to get it checked out. I am SOOO upset. I will NEVER take my dog there or any other petsmart place for that matter. It is my THIRD time having bad experiences with them. All three different locations ... I thought maybe a different place would be better but nope, all three places were the same thing. They have NO KNOWLEDGE on dog breeds and their hair/fur type. Every dog is different. Not to mention I paid $51 plus another amount at the vet because G-d knows what these people did to his private area. HORRIBLE ! And I will not spend a DIME at petsmarts ever! read more

I really love PetSmart because they have everything I need for my dog, hamsters, bettas, guppies and hermit crabs. When you have a lot of pets like I do, you have to be able to get their stuff in one place and have options to pick the best food for your pets. I believe PetSmart offers that to me and that's why I continue to go. To address the one review that said they do not accept bully dogs, I honestly have never seen there be a problem with bully breeds being turned away. I'd strikes me as odd that they would turn you and your dog away, but if they did, I'd really like to know what the reason was because they should not make blanket statements like that without a good reason. I have never owned a bully breed, but I've met many who are the calmest and loving dogs in the world. Hopefully, you resolved the issue and/or found a place to go that accepts your dogs. As for the prices, yeah they can be high, but if you know what you are looking for, you can sleep sound at night knowing that you're giving your pets good food. I don't think many people like big corporations, but the fact is, for me anyway, that PetSmart has everything for my pets in one place at a price that I believe is fair. With those two points out of the way, the store is clean and the staff is friendly and helpful. They all know where items are and are more than willing to help show you what you are looking for or explain the differences between the large selection of food and treats. Overall, I like shopping at PetSmart and will continue to do so because I believe it offers the best selection for my pets. Your experience may differ and you may find that PetSmart isn't the place for you and your pets, so take my review with a grain of salt, but for me, this is the place I will continue to shop at. read more

This is my local PetSmart. It's pretty decent. They have a huge variety of dog food and dog beds. They also have massive aquariums and fish accessories. Their section for cats is a little smaller. They have a Bansfield Vet office which is always packed. They also have their adoption section which isn't that big. Not many animals there. When you walk in, they have the grooming area, decent size. There are always dogs getting groomed there. Some people bring their pets to walk around the store while they shop, mostly puppies. I like that they have a training center. This PetSmart has almost everything you would need when getting a dog. The staff is pretty friendly. For the holidays they hired a bunch of young teens who don't know much but try to help the customers. I'm not happy with the lack of selection in vitamins and doggie diapers. I had to go elsewhere for those. Oh well, can't have it all. Highly recommend. read more

bought a Syrian hamster there Dec 15th that died on Jan 2nd. "sorry, nothing we can do for you... it is past the 14 days." 18 days was all he lived! we cleaned his cage and water, fed him daily, took him out for play time in his ball...My kids were horrified, it was their first pet ever. the food I was told to give him was too big as I found out from another store, the cage was also too small for the Syrian as well. My 75-year-old mother purchased a dog door for my daughter. She lives in South Jersey; as I tried to return it without a receipt (granted, Christmas receipts are scattered) he said "I have the right to deny the return." He looked my name up and saw that we recently opened a frequent buyer account (3 weeks ago). Since opening our account, I've made over 600 dollars in purchased from petsmart. This is like a supermarket, I will always have to purchase goods however, I don't have to use Petsmart. I will choose to Petco going forward. I brought my dog to this location for his first grooming. He is a rescue and needed alot of attention. The technician working on him was Casey. She was amazing. She assured me he would be well taken care of and asked specific questions as to how I wanted his haircut and would contact me when she was done. I was so happy when I picked him up. His haircut was perfect and he looked so white and fluffy. So it was time once again to bring him in. Unfortunately Casey was not available so another tech, I will not mention her name but what a huge disappointment. His haircut was horrible. Uneven, choppy and very unprofessional. She clipped a mole that he had behind his ear and caused it to bleed and of course a trip to the vet. The vet examining him looked in his ears were never cleaned either. As I waited to pay and pic up my dog I was watching a technician who was working on a very nervous and scared small dog. I did not see her try to calm him down or show him any care. I called and spoke with a manager who was very apologetic and wanted to make it right, however I will not be going back to this place. read more

I have been going to PetSmart Grooming at St George Rd, Woodbridge ,NJ for years. WELL I WILL NEVER RETURN THERE. The way I was treated was unacceptable. I asked for a specific groomer all the time . My dog has medical conditions that is why i asked for experienced groomer. I scheduled an appointment with Katy well I was lied to. They scheduled me with someone else. This person handles Other pets not very nicely. They also told me this person has groomed my pet 2 times in past. I was never told that ever. When I further questioned why I wad lied to. They turned around and said what's the big deal. IT IS A BIG DEAl. That is the last person I would have left my dog with. Did she even know about the medical issues? This store has a prejudice against Bully Breed Dogs. Soon as I realized that, I stopped going there and won't be going back for any reason. They're completely fine if you spend $100 a bag on food for your Bully breed, but try to bring him/her to a class or a puppy socialization and they will ask you to leave. I told the manager that and he said, "Well if you like you can tell us which brand of food you normally purchase and someone will bring it up to the register while you keep your dog outside." I already own a lil chihuahua baby, but now that I'm getting into the fishkeeping hobby, I've been frequenting this PetSmart quite often. They have a very nice selection of fish food, medicine, tank chemicals, and most are always on sale if you're a PetPerks member. I bought my two fishy friends yesterday (2 jullii corydoras catfish), and they were not only affordable, but super active and cute too! I would recommend taking a good look in the tanks here, and anywhere really. Try not to get fish from a tank with dead ones in it, just to avoid bringing in disease. I only saw one tank with a dead fish in it, so I'm sure they're on top of scooping them out usually, this one may have just been missed. The fish girls were very informative, I overheard them going down the list of compatible tank mates, what kind of substrate to get, water quality etc. I definitely feel so excited when I come here, I haven't wanted to go to any other pet store for my aquatic desires. read more

This store is my neighborhood go-to pet store. They have a large selection of products and are usually fully stocked. Be vigilant about prices as you check out, since they are often not the prices listed on the shelf. Usually it's not a problem and they always honor the lower price but it involves getting the manager, going to the shelf to make sure, etc so it takes longer and you may irritate people that are waiting behind you. I don't buy dog food because they don't carry Evo or Taste of the Wild. But another pet store, also in the same shopping plaza does. I would love to give Petsmart more business if they carried a different selection of dog food. We also signed up our puppy for training and Annette was our wonderful instructor (not sure if she still works there now). read more
