I found an ad from Robert Babut on Craigslist.I dropped off my Taxes (2012-2014) around April 1,…read more2015.I asked him to just tweak my State 2012,first.It was already completed.I made my first call to Robert on May 17, 2015, a 10:02 p.m., asking him if he was done with the 2012. He never answered I called him additional times (July 14, 29).I then called his Partner(at another number) asking him to tell Robert to please call me (July 14,29). I left the following text message: "I have been trying 2 get my taxes either started, completed or just pick them up done or not.Would U PLEASE let Robert know.I REALLY NEED MY TAXES! HE HAS HAD THEM SINCE APRIL.THANK U SO MUCH! PLEASE,PLEASE." This was at 9:25a.m. His Partner called me back and Robert did call me (I believe) giving me all kinds of excuses, but said he was working on them. After many, many other calls (asking him if he knew how to do MY taxes, did he lose my taxes, what's going on) and attempts( could I be of some assistance, when can we meet, etc., I have all of the text messages I sent to Robert in August, etc. (it is NOW September), I demanded that Robert just give me my taxes--COMPLETED OR NOT! Robert kept saying HOW BAD HE FELT (tons of excuses concerning his health (his feet or legs) or else he had to WORK his OTHER job, or else he was going out of town.I don't remember exactly what happened, but Robert FINALLY ADMITTED THAT HE HAD LOST MY TAX FILES and finally found them (around Sept 2-I have a text from him). He did say he would do them, for less than $200.00 (because he felt so bad about the length of time), but I TOLD ROBERT that I just wanted them in MY possession BEFORE he went out of town (again, this is around Sept. 10). I could always come back AND WE, HE AND I WOULD JUST SIT DOWN And at least complete the 2012, in 2-6 hours. He said to call him after he came back from his trip to visit his elderly aunt. Well, because of my financial situation, I did call Robert back on Thurs.,Oct.15 12:52pm: "Hi Robert, I am finishing my classes in about 8 days. Would U B interested N trying taxes again? Not offended if answer is no. Let me know asap.", I texted him again on Thur.,Nov 5, 8:14 a.m., Sorry to not have heard back from you Robert.I did hear from the IRS and told them what happened.They are sending me papers to file a complaint if I wanted. Just wanted you to know." Robert agreed to still do them (He sent me the following text on Nov. 5, 9:02 a.m., "Hi jo,when I got your first text I was on the road and forgot to respond. If you want to get together and look everything over let me know.". I texted him back the same day asking him if Tuesday, next week was ok. I texted him again on Wed, Nov 11 at 9:50 about getting them done before Jan. 15, 2016 and before the upcoming Holidays(remember, he was never available or had excuses why we couldn't meet).Robert, texted me on Wed.Nov 11, at 9:52 a.m., "I will check my schedule.Next week should be ok. I will be going away thanksgiving week." I texted him back on Wed., Nov. 11 at 11:41 a.m., "I kinda thought that Robert. So let' do this! PLEASE. I will have my brother drop me off. Please have the dogs (somewhere else)".On Nov.12 at 8:15 a.m. Robert texted me saying, "How about next Thursday in the afternoon?" On Nov.12,at 8:17 a.m, I texted the following, "Yes, but I would like to complete everything at 1 siting". On Monday, Nov.16, at 2:12 p.m., Robert Babut texted me the following, Jo, I hate to be the bearer of bad new, but I am flying out to Seattle on Wednesday night for a hopefully lucrative job interview.This just came in this morning." I texted Robert the same day at 2:25 p.m., the following, "WOW! REALLY?THIS IS HOW U R GOING TO TREAT ME? Robert U either can't or don't know how to do my particuliar taxes. OR U just don't want to. U'd think I would get the "hint" by now, but I am a Business person also and I HAVE NEVER TREATED ANY1 EVEN PEOPLE WHO HATE ME OR MY RACE THIS WAY. i just wished U would have told me in April. Why can't U do them when U come back? All of this drama and waiting. This has been horrible? Well, it is what it is, Isn't it?" This is Robert Babut's Response Text, "Jo, I would have gladly met with you when I returned. You were the one who wanted them done this week. I did not plan on flying out to the west coast this week. Plus, next week I am going to New York to spend the holidays with my 88 year aunt. I am offended that you mentioned race. One thing for certain is that I am NOT a racist.At this point in time I think it is best that we both move on.Good luck."I texted him back, but he blocked me.I took my taxes to be completed by Robert Babut and the above was my experience with him. I met him in April of 2015 and it is now November 17, 2015. He knew my funds were limited and thus THAT IS THE ONLY REASON I PUT UP WITH HIM. Although, I didn't spend any money, I lost so much more. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED AND I HAVE ALL OF THE TEXTS TO PROVE THE ABOVE STATEMENTS. JoAnn Davis

Even after I called twice, and two different people got my information into the system, I never received an email confirmation. When I called for the third time, I was told just to call in at the time of my appointment that someone would be ready to help even if I didn't receive the email confirmation. Of course, that was the wrong information. I called at my confirmed time and got a "let me see if someone is available". I moved meetings around to be available for this call and I was baffled by the lack of respect.
