Sharing my recent experience with Pettis Plumbing in the hopes of bringing attention to unethical billing practices. I was charged a service fee despite no service being provided. At no point was I informed of this policy beforehand, nor is it mentioned on their website. Transparency in pricing and fair business practices matter. If I had seen the online reviews of Pettis Plumbing before trusting they were a reputable business, I could have avoided being swindled. the plumber was nice and did a good job, the invoice was insane, they over charged on labour and materials. They will tear out things that work fine to replace them with a much more expensive version of the same thing and don't expect credit for anything. They won't adjust an invoice and will charge you insane compound interest if you don't pay in time then send you to collections. think the courts will help, think again because they just lie in court. this company is corrupt and unfortunately it reflects on some very nice plumbers. save yourselves thousands and go to anyone else. if money is not a concern and you don't care about getting gouged and upsold they might be a good choice. read more

I would like to start off by thanking this incredible, proficient, young, upbeat PER FRIENDLY team for the quick and professional turnaround they have provided! As a new resident to Nova Scotia and in dyer need of water, due to a broken well pump, the most exceptional receptionist (Charly) has proven to be patient, let me speak and really took the time to LISTEN to my concerns, she additionally factored in the time of year (weather) and took team members into consideration, wasted no time and shifted the schedule around to accommodate all parties. Kindly note that there are limited plumbing services in the area I have chosen to relocate, not to mention , I have called over 9 different places for emergency plumbing and the ONLY company who has taken the time to really listen to the fine detail of this time sensitive emergency was PETTIS! I had a visit the very next day ! Competitors could only tentatively "book me in" 2 months down the road (leaving my family and I without water services over the Christmas holiday). I found the pricing to be steep, however , acceptable and very much justified considering the magnitude of the issue , my location and the emergency label . A full and honest, entire home walk through and inspection was completed after water restoration which included viable recommendations in maintaining the water system to prevent further up and coming issues they were missed during the initial home inspection performed at the time of home buying. I would also like to mention that a follow up call and visit have been placed FREE OF CHARGE by the owner himself A week later . This is a team with heart and feelings . I give them 10Star + rating and look forward to continued business in the very near future ! read more

Wanted $590 to unclog a drain in my kitchen +$48 assessment fee. Called a reputable plumber instead after I asked the tech they sent to leave. Issue was resolved by the reputable plumber within 20 minutes. I still paid the $48 for the outrageous quote and assessment. read more

Pettis plumbing is not a professional company . because only one think they want is money , money and money, because have some case if they have not enough experience to fix they should tell the customer but they don't. Just keep sending worker to you house and charge you even can't fix . i with this company 6 years ...very very disappointed , on beginning they are ok ...price is reasonable but after they will try to charge you more and more ...i will like to share my experience to every one , I don't want other people get that kind the scam. #1 ..one day my toilet it's leaking I call them ...when they come just take a look and they tell me they have to move my toilet and put it back ..that will be cost me $500 if they find the problem after they have to be fix that will charge me extra ..i say wow ...you never know what's wrong and asking so much money ..then i let him go and after I call someone else come take a look , only take 10 min the guy told me because the toilet stink on behind have a crack that why leaking so he need to change the toilet for me ...and he change for me with a new toilet is only $200 After that I don't want to use Pettis plumbing any more but after they send me a small knife to apologize , ok I have a soft heart I give them try again ...but I make a wrong decision #2...i have very bad smell in my toilet , Pettis plumbing come 3 times to try fix it but end up problem never solve , and the guy say I need to change something on my stink , if I don't charge they can't fix the smell I say ok that I have no choice....and before he go I asking how much ? And he say he dont know the office will send me the bill ..well I am confused because every time they coming they will let me know how much and give me the paper to signature but not this time . Few weeks later I received the bill to asking me to pay over $1200 ....i told them I'm not going to pay because the smell still there but they don't care ..they just asking me how much I can pay I say I only can pay the last day they come and she say ok after my credit I still need to pay $487 ...i only have 1 issue but they never can fix and I'm going to find someone else to take a look ... and i call other plumbing, When the new plumbing come to my house he not fix anything just take a look the whole system...and he find I have a bathroom in my basement I'm not use for few years ...because my house is old so all water go to the same pipe and the bathroom at the bottom is all try up so the air is no where to go ...thats why have bad smell ( I'm not sure I explain right )...anyway the lady from Pettis plumbing call me again asking me when I will pay , I say give me some time I have someone come to take a look ..but she dont care and after we find the problem i try to contact the owner from the Pettis plumbing I want to let him know what problem we find , but he not answer my phone and 2 days later they put me to collections...omg they are so sneaky and dirty ....well I'm very upset on beginning I'm strongly to say I'm not pay for ....i cant sleep all night , only $487 I'm a single mother I have a lot of pressure already....so I don't want to get more pressure from the Pettis plumbing..so today I decide to pay...i wish everyone have to be careful , if you use the Pettis plumbing , if they not tell you the price before they work you better say no ....i have back luck this time ...i lost $487 to stay away from them , well i will very careful on my future :( read more
