I will never bring my fur babies here EVER again. As many times as I've used their services for boarding while I'm on vacation, this was the last time. I always book in advance, and yet there was still miscommunication. No one mentioned that they only allow pick-ups on Sundays,not drop-offs. Had I not called a few days before my trip, I would've had to cancel everything because of their lack of communication. I was told by a young lady it was their fault for not informing me about the Sunday policy, and that one day of my pet's stay would be covered. But when I called to check how much I owe, I was shocked to hear it was almost $600--even though I was told it would be $504. This whole experience has been completely unacceptable. I'd rather spend my money elsewhere where my pets and time are respected. read more

Petz Plaza and Animal Health Clinic adjacent provide excellent services. The care that they provide to our fur babies is very loving. I never have to worry about daycare or boarding when I am leaving my baby Rowdy. He is a 10 year old Yorkie. Rowdy has never been injured or left there ill due to uncleanliness. They love, care and nourish him, and he is always excited to go there to be with all of his friends. This place went from great to garbage. Not only does the website not work properly, but they got our reservation wrong even after making it directly with them over the phone. When we got our dog back after a long weekend, she'd lost a lot of weight, showed signs of distress, and smelled terribly even though we'd also payed for baths and extra play time with her. Their excuse was that we showed up too early to pick her up, even though we got her at the end of the day, but from reading the other reviews it seems like that's their default answer. The manager went MIA when asked to speak with her on site, so we requested for her to call us-- but of course she never did. Not sure what happened with this place because it used to be amazing, but we can no longer recommend them in good faith to any of our friends. read more

I had my dog come in for grooming. Yes, she had some mats on her. I knew she would have to be cut short. However, she shaved her to her skin. The tips of her ears were bleeding so she tried to wrap her ears to prevent hematoma. The poor thing was struggling to breath. She then proceeded to give me a huge shopping bag full of my precious dogs fur. I ended up taking her to the vet bc she was so uncomfortable. They told me the groomer should NOT have done this! They had just seen her and her mats, and believed they could have been brushed out or just cut shorter, but not to the skin. They cut her private part, so now she is on antibiotics for her skin. Now she may have skin issues since it's so short. She is also on steroids for inflammation. $130 vet bill!!!! Beware and go somewhere else!!! I'm traumatized. read more

BEWARE- If I could give 0 stars, I would. We have boarded our dog there numerous times before. This time was the final straw. We set our pickup time through the Yourgi app for 6:30 on Sunday. We called multiple times as we were driving into town to make sure this was the case, all confirmed that this was okay. We get a call at 4:45 on Sunday afternoon saying pickup ends at 5:00 and that our dog has to stay another night. We call everyone in our family and someone goes to pick her up at 5:07. We are on the phone with them willing to pay with the card on file, they said they wouldn't do that because they "wanted to go home at 5:00". Our pick up person got there and stated there were people inside and a woman said no to him picking her up... at 5:07. I will never have my dog stay here again with the rudest people who obviously do not care for the well being of my dog. -Side note: How safe is it to have all of these animals with nobody staying overnight with them. *Update: We paid for her to be groomed with her nails trimmed. Her nails were not trimmed at all. She did seem to be groomed: but we noticed her elbows were completely raw and she had dry blood on her ear. She also came home with over half her food still in the tub. I had called multiple times to make sure she was eating and was okay, there was never any mention of this. We will never use them again! I have been in a total of two times, although I pass it daily. Each time the staff I interacted with was friendly; unfortunately both times my dog has left absolutely traumatized (and he loves daycare at other places). I really wanted to like it. My first experience was about a year and a half ago. My dog was 8 months old and maybe 11lbs. He went in for his evaluation to board and play. I watched on the cameras in the lobby in complete horror as he went into the room and was backed into the corner by three full grown labs, cowering. The staff inside the playroom did nothing to help my baby. My mom and I were in tears begging them to pull my puppy out of the evaluation. Why was a tiny puppy in the room with full grown labs? No other place in BR does that... even their Jefferson location separated by size. I swore I would never go back. Skip to yesterday. I had to last minute cancel his grooming appointment 3 weeks ago and his groomer couldn't get him in for weeks. So I called around looking for a sooner time. Petz Plaza was a little over a week out so I took the appointment fully thinking I was calling the Jefferson location (which I just found out is permanently closed) I even told the woman on the phone while booking how I had such a horrible experience at the Perkins location but wanted to try at the other location. She said nothing to indicate that this was indeed the Perkins location. She even commented that's crazy they didn't split up the dogs (perhaps things have changed since October 2019?) I realized the day before his appointment the Jefferson location had closed and called to confirm I had made the appointment at Perkins. I was sick and wanted to cancel but thought he wasn't playing today just getting a haircut it will be fine. Well first of all his haircut is awful. He had done knots on his trunk because he has cowlicks that want to turn into dreadlocks and has been swimming a lot and running when I try brush him. I told them they could shave his body bc I know it's a pain when he has knots, but I would prefer more fluffy. I asked for him to keep his beard- trimmed obviously but to keep the beard- and to not keep the top of his head teased and long because it grows really fast and gets in his eyes. Maybe there was some miscommunication like a game of telephone when I told the lady at the front desk and she wrote what I said on a post it note for the groomer or some sort of miscommunication happened because this was not exactly what happened. Honestly I was shocked when I picked him up. He's still adorable, but he looks like a different dog. My cats hissed at him when he came back and did not recognize him. The most concerning thing was his temperament when he got home. My boyfriend who is his absolute favorite person in the world was home for lunch and my dog didn't care. He ran straight for water and drank the entire bowl and then some for at least 5 min. The rest of the day he didn't want to be touched. He would not come near us. He had actual tears rolling form his face- not like drips around his eyes like actual tears. (Perhaps he's getting stuff in his eyes because he has no eyebrows to protect him I'm not sure what's up with that). He shook and just wanted to be left alone. He refused treats snd his favorite toys. I know some dogs freak out after going yo the groomers, but mine never has he always comes back playful and happy and super affectionate to the groomer who brings him out. Yesterday he could not have ran away fast enough. I have no idea what happened to my baby, but he will never be back. I feel horrible for not canceling this appointment and knowing better. I know a lot of people like this place, but I personally cannot recommend it at all. Which stinks because like I said it's on my way to school and work, and he would have loved to play there, and instead, he only gets once a week at camp bow wow because it's out of the way. read more

We took our pup here for day care, then one night of boarding. The staff is super friendly! We loved having the assurance of their live cam feed to know our pup was having fun while we were away. Our pup seemed to enjoy his time and this is the closest dog care facility to my house and job. My reason for taking away stars is their odd weekend hours (Saturday only open from 8-2, Sunday open from 3-5), and no one ever stated that there was an additional $10 fee to pick up to our pet on Sunday. It's not listed on any of their paperwork either. Also, due to their odd hours (which is when I would assume most people would be out of town and looking to board their pet), paying the extra $15 for all day play is only about 1/2 of one day they stay.. All in all, I would love to use petzplaza as a day care facility. But will be looking elsewhere for boarding. read more

We use Petz Plaza for boarding and day care. We have used the basic boarding and the suits. We lately started using the day care and LOVE it! We looked at other doggy daycare options in town and had some terrible experiences. We have a 1.5 year old Golden Retriever that weighs 80lbs. She has a lot of energy but is well trained and loves other dogs. One place told us she was too "anxious" and didn't pass their "interview". The employees at Petz Plaza were much more warm and loving toward our dog from the second we brought Pearl. Much different than the interaction we had at other places! Doggy day care at Petz Plaza has been great for her to get energy out when we have long work days. The staff loves all the puppies, the facility is well kept and clean, and our pup is thrilled when we pull up to drop her off! read more

I have a 13 pound dog that I asked to have his hair cut to half length and to focus on a couple of areas a certain way. I dropped him off at 8am. I called at about 3 to see if they had finished cutting his hair. They were finished but hadn't called. When I got him they had buzz cut him and completely ignored what i asked them to do. Didn't cut his tail at all. It looked like they ran the trimmers over him for a quick 5 minute cut and charged me $65. This was my first visit here and my last. read more

I've brought my dog to boarding here 3 times. The first time, awesome. I paid the extra $5 to have her picture sent to me (ALL 3 TIMES) just for peace of mind. Well the second time I brought her, they never sent me pictures of her. When I brought it up they were apologetic and refunded the money. This last time, I received pictures of her only one of the days she was there. I picked her up two hours early (12:30pm) because they sent me a text at 9:15am saying she was ready to be picked up. Upon arrival I mention to the ladies at the front that I only got her picture for one of the days she was there. She then proceeded to argue with me that I didn't get her picture today because I picked her up early. Well if her pick up is at 2pm, and you send a text at 9:15am, you would think they would make sure to send her picture early. Nope! I told the lady, I paid for pictures of my dog and didn't receive them, AGAIN. She went back and forth with me for a moment before realizing I was going to make a big deal of it. All she would offer is store credit. Nope, no thank you! Had she been apologetic like last time I would not be writing this review and would probably have swept it under the rug. My dog loves coming here. He has separation anxiety and can't be left at home all day while I'm at work. I got him from the shelter and his records show that he'd been brought back to the shelter multiple times before I adopted him. Seeing how excited he gets when we pull into the parking lot let's me know how well taken care of and loved he is while he's there and it really puts my mind at ease while I'm at work. When I first adopted him, he was already an adult and I didn't know him or his needs well. The staff is very communicative and always sensitive to his needs, quick to let me know if he doesn't seem to be feeling well, and always lets me know how he's doing socially. They made several errors regarding my dogs' grooming appointment, but they were unwilling to correct them. My dogs had an appointment with Bryan, but they mistakenly put them with Jess. Also, they claim dogs are groomed on a first come/first served basis, so I made sure I was first with my new puppy. Several dogs went before her, and she was traumatized after spending four hours there. Hopefully, this won't cause anxiety with grooming in the future. It was a big disappointment. read more

Took my dog there for the first time last week. Dog came home sick and out of sorts. Gunk was all over her eyes and face. Barely ate and had diarrhea. Haven't gotten into the vet yet, possible kennel cough or some sickness to cause this much stress. No report cards or tasks were filled out. I called multiple times one day with no response. I just felt the dog did not get the attention she needed for her first stay that made me or her comfortable. I wish they could've called to say she was having a rough time and suggest more tlc or playtime, would've been happy to pay for whatever she needed. I take my wire fox terrier here to be groomed and have for a year since I moved from VA. We always have Ana do the grooming and she's great. The first few times she groomed Bailey, she was cut a little too short. However i think it was more that I didn't communicate what I wanted. The last few cuts have been fantastic. I brought my 1 year old corgi and my daughter's 1 year old lab mix for their first ever doggie daycare experience. We talked to the staff several times to make sure we knew what to expect and give them backgrounds on our dogs. We were given the address to the web cams and were excited to watch them during their day. First of all, Griffin, our Corgi was put in the wrong area and wasn't even in the group for the first hour. I called to check on him and the employee was confused, hung up on me and never got back to me. He was then taken to the correct area and I could see him on the camera. Among my daughter, her husband, my son and myself we probably watched about 75% of their day. We were so excited to see them playing and having fun. They were never reprimanded or squirted with water the entire time we watched. They played happily with the other dogs. Griffin is more reserved and didn't interact as much as Sadie did but he did walk around and enjoyed sitting in the 'tunnels' of the play area. We couldn't wait to pick them up and hear about their days. My daughter was shocked when she arrived and was told that they didn't have a successful day and she was asked to take her business elsewhere because they weren't wanted back. When asked for an explanation - she was told that Sadie was anxious the whole day. She tried to explain that her behavior on the video showed the opposite, and that she and her husband could tell that she was very happy and playful. She asked that she could try another visit because this was all new to her and she was told that she could not and they did not want her back. She was told that Griffin was aggressive and growled several times. Never on the video was anything remotely like that seen. I would ask that the manager please view the tape and watch our dogs to see what they did wrong because we definitely didn't see what was told to us. Also, she was told that our dogs 'didn't fit in with the group'. What group is this?? It's a doggie daycare for all types of dogs - we never knew they had to 'fit in'. They were well behaved and I thought this was the point of the temperament check. We took our business to PetSuites and are much happier. It was a very disappointing experience and I hope that this review is useful in helping Petz Plaza to improve its experience for pets and their owners. read more

Don't know how they are with short haired dogs, but if you have a dog that has a lot of hair..I wouldn't advise this place. Honestly, Petsmart did a better job. Told them I had my black pomeranian shaved before, and it grew back fuzzy and grey. So, I said to just trim him, so it wouldn't further damage his hair. They said they would keep his hair at 1.5". Then they proceeded to chop him to less than a half inch. They also did a really awkward job on trimming his head. It looks kind of triangular. Wont be going back. read more
