I had a Living Social coupon but when I called to schedule the class (TWO WEEKS before it expired!) The owner said all the classes were full and I would have to pay an additional $60.00 per person to take the class. WHAT????? That to me is bad business. I am a business owner myself and I would honor the coupon and schedule more classes but he said that was not an option! Well Get someone in and pay them to teach the class! Hello???? I'm sure that there a ton of retired cops or military personnel that would love some extra cash! I have heard and seen on yelp that this business has scheduling issues and doesn't hold enough classes to fulfill their obligation to its Living Social clients. I'm sure it is a fantastic class but I'll never know because I will not deal with an unreasonable person and I'm going to try and get my money back. read more

I'm not sure what the negative reviews are about, I also had a living social coupon, and had no problem getting into one of his concealed carry classes. The class was great. He did a good job of covering the every aspect of carrying: mental preparedness, gun safety, legal and moral implications of carrying, etc. I grew up with guns, but if I hadn't, I probably would have taken his practical shooting class. While my last review about the class was spot on, I left out a piece of negative info, giving them the benefit of the doubt. Since my recent expense l experience, I can now say for certain the way they operate is horrid. When signing up for the class, was a little nervous because there was little info and they were unresponsive to questions. We did make it to the class, however it was pertty sketch that it was advertised as a gun safety class, but ended up being all day ccw. Bonus for me, too bad for the wife. After moving, I attempted to contact them for duplicates of certificate because I couldn't find them anywhere. My first email and phone message was inquiring only if this was possible. After no response, I emailed that I'd even pay a fee, which seems reasonable. Well after a month I heard nothing. Luckily ... I finally found the certs. I took a class from Paul and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Both of the instructors were very knowledgeable and active LE officers as well. Just make sure to schedule as early as possible as their classes do fill up. They offer several different classes including classroom and others at the range. If I decide to take another class, I'll definitely consider PG. read more

I thought the training was great for my CCW. My only complaints are: I don't need to hear your political dissertation. I'm there for a purpose. Oh and yes, I'm a liberal with a gun. Don't make me an outcast. Also, too much time was spent on everyones special story about why they are getting the permit. We all have our reasons. read more

I too purchases a groupon deal for a class and never attended, but not because I didn't try. I tried to book a class shortly (within 3 wks of making purchase) and all classes were booked out until the expiration of the groupon. I emailed Paul and told him the problem and asked what we should do. He told me to look at other dates (which would be beyond the expiration date). The website wasn't working so I emailed him again and nothing was ever resolved. I have tried to book this class again since then and just get the run around with him. He wont answer if we can or can't book the class using the groupon. He is argumentative about previous emails, what was said, etc. Just a yes or no will do please. In the meantime I am trying to get my groupon money back. Why WOULD I want to take a class from this tool at this point anyway? Horrible business owner in my opinion based on my experience. I see I'm not the only one that has problems either. With the fear of gun laws changing there are more and more people wanting to take classes and make gun purchases. I will be sure to tell everyone I come across my experience with Paul AND tell them to read it for themselves on yelp. read more

We thought it was great. He moves along very quickly with his information in the concealed handgun permit class, but allows adequate time for questions. The information he provides in this course is valuable, and we will be going to his basic and advanced handgun courses. read more

It doesn't appear that this place still operates regular classes, but I wanted to provide a long-overdue review. I took the course to see what it was like and gain a bit more knowledge (I'm a sucker for learning anything). I was the only female in class that wasn't with a husband/boyfriend and I was the only young female; which shouldn't be a big deal in and of itself. It should go without saying, but I was a normal attendee with some experience and an interest, wasn't talkative or anything weird. However, the teacher took every opportunity he could to mock me. He would be covering content in the class and then out of nowhere - "and of course blondie will want a pink gun, they have those just so you know.. hahahaha" or "she'll probably need to have multiple guns to match each outfit/purse" and "I'm sure she'll need to bedazzle her gun." These comments occurred over 10 times throughout the short course, and his only snide comments were directed at me - completely appalling. I was 23 at the time and a bit more timid and taken aback, but if I had it to do over I would have recorded him and completely put him on blast. His behavior was repulsive and looking back I'm a little annoyed that no one else in class stood up for me. For what it's worth, for the "test" at the end (which a 5 year old could pass) I was the first to finish and got everything correct, got my card, and left without saying a word. read more

Horrible customer service. Left a vm earlier today with specific questions about a CC license. A guy called me back same day- so far so good- then asked me what I wanted. I referred back to the very detailed message with questions in it I had left earlier. He said he just got the name and number and called me back. I left my number at the very end, so this jackass listened to the whole damn thing then is wasting my time having to repeat a very detailed set of questions in regards to the license . After stating my frustration, I was about to get back into the scenario and questions and he flat out hung up the line. They have a groupon going right now- so CUSTOMER BEWARE. read more

I participated in the CCW class via the living social coupon that was offered. The class itself was extremely informative. The teacher used an appropriate blend of humor and seriousness/candor to make the class informative without being dull (as state law tends to be). Adding in his personal experiences as well as a plethora of scenario reviews (as thought up by the participants) allowed for us to understand most situations that could arise, and the appropriate response (or non-response). The class covered everything that could be without being at a range, and the level of understand that I took away from the class relating to rights and law was very high. The instructor/owner was also very flexible with my business schedule, allowing for me to change the class time I signed up for to accomodate unexpected business travel. I am looking forward to participating in the advanced courses in the future. read more

The website for this company & Paul Grossman's LinkedIn page state that he hold many certificates & has extensive police & military experience. I have asked for proof of his past experience & he refuses to produce it. I am not willing to take a firearms class from someone without firearms experience & I highly recommend to anyone looking that you find some one that can produce their credentials. read more

Bought the groupon- took the class, got my CCW. Paul grossman was awesome and helped me move from an AM to PM class on the day before the class due to an emergency I had. no fees or penalties, I set up my class 2 days after getting my groupon cause I looked and SAW they were really booked up! If you purchase living social or groupon, be a smart consumer and dont expect someone else to bend over for your lack of attention! Now, I did find that Paul was struggling a little after doing a class that same morning, but honestly he pushed through and got everyone the information they needed. This is a class setting where a person is talking back and forth with a class- do opinions come out... sure.... I think some of the reviews are ridiculous - The guy has a good sense of humor/answered all questions/helped with personal questions people had, and delivered all the material he needed to in the time allotted. I bought the Groupon for the conceal carry permit class and then attended the basic pistol course. I never had a problem getting into either class and Paul was very accomidating with me rescheduling the pistol course. Both classes were very informative and everyone was given the attention they needed regarding questions, concerns etc. I am planning on taking a more advanced course from him as well. I see a lot of nasty comments on here. I have been an advocate gun owner and hunter for years now and I finally decided to get my ccw because, well, look outside! My initial thought of going to a class without shooting was concerning, but then I thought: "If anyone thinks 45 minutes of training with your new teeny CCW is going to prepare you for the real thing then whoever else feels that way should not have one anyway." It is your responsibility to get familiar with your firearm, not the instructors. CCW requires to teach you the law and do's and do not's of CCW Licensing. In my class I learned waaaaaaaay more than any other information I had found elsewhere. Now, the owner is a personal friend and I can contest to his knowledge, credibility, and profession which many of you are questioning. Take a class, look him up, do some research before spouting your mouths off. It looks tacky. And whiners do not need CCW's in the first place... Nor, do people who allow all their feelers to get in the way (w"aaaaah he only called me back but not with a list of answers because I am more important than everyone!"), ("waaaaaaah I want proof of his background", call the police station, he is not required to show you jack! here is an idea, do not like it, then do not take it...) ("Waaaaaaah I cannot get scheduled because he is too full" it was a groupon bright one! what did ou think was going to happen?????) take it somewhere else people! Attitudes like this is why emotions get so high and people start to freak out in the first place. There is no more room for all these feelings in the world, buck up buttercup! I am a very active Yelp reader but do not often write reviews. My boyfriend and I attended the CCW and Firearm Safety class on 6/7/14. I read the reviews before we went and didn't have high expectations but was pleasantly surprised. Paul's class was very informative and we both feel confident in the laws and safety concerns. We didn't experience any of the issues that many of the reviews have shared. I was able to get into the class only a few weeks before my groupon expired and there was no political agenda shared. I would not hesitate recommending PG classes to anyone who has a gun, wants a gun or just wants to learn more about the laws and safety. We will be signing up for his Basic gun class next. read more

We took a home invasion course from Paul at PG Firearms Training and it was a lot of fun and very educational. By "a lot of fun" I mean that roller coaster rides and horror movies are a walk in the park compared to facing down a man running at you with a fire ax in a darkened hallway. I was shaking like a leaf after every scenario! You can sit in a classroom and discuss tactics but PG Firearms puts a simunition gun in your hand and puts you in a crisis situation. The education was just as important as the scenarios. After each scenario we discussed what went right, what went wrong, and how to handle it better in real life. Paul and the other instructor, Will, were friendly and competent and experienced. They gave our group great information on home defense. The chances I'm ever in that situation are rare, but I wanted to know what to do if the worst happens. Our group left that day with a better understanding of how to handle a home invasion. PG Firearms gave us a great experience, and I highly recommend them. read more
