I came in one night approximately 10 minutes before closing to get my nails done. I got a gel french manicure. The staff were quite happy to accommodate, despite the time. Very friendly people. The lasted for over a week without chipping, which was amazing to me. My nails were not shaped to my liking but overall, given the circumstances, I was highly satisfied. My second visit, I got mink lash extensions. I promised I wouldn't write a review until I went the full month so I could give an honest review. I paid $100.00 for lash extensions done by a short woman with a bob.Cool. In the back room she began getting her supplies together. While I waited, I noticed the certificate by the front desk and in the back room were named for Justin. Despite being unaware of the woman's experience, I went ahead and took a chance. She did not clean my eyelashes prior to application. She did not isolate each hair while applying the lashes, which led to clumping. My bottom eyelashes were taped down over the waterline which dried my eyes out heavily. As soon as she was just about finished with the first eye, it became seriously irritated. The woman fanned my eye for a good 6 minutes until my eye stopped watering and moved onto the other eye... Same situation. What made it even worse was that it seemed as if she was rushing the second eye. What typically should take near two hours for a job well done, was done in about 40 minutes. When my eyes finally stopped watering and I was able to look in the mirror, they did look amazing! Up close, sadly, clumps of glue were visible. My eyes were irritated for the rest of the day after application and for the remainder of the next day. Throughout the month I had the lashes, I did receive compliments & enjoyed the way they looked. It wasn't until they began to fall out that I became quite unhappy with the job that was done. Instead of lashes being applied individually, they felt clumped together and I had a difficult time brushing a wand through them to keep them clean. The glue was heavy & it got to a point where I just decided to pull off the lashes because I couldn't bear it anymore. Overall, I would not come back for the eyelash services. My lashes were quite long to begin with, so it just seems like a waste of money for the work that was done. My suggestion is to schedule with Justin rather than simply walking in if you're seeking eyelash services. Based off my first experience for nails only, 5 stars.. Overall.. 3 stars. read more

Honestly I love this shop. i've just had a bad experience with one of the nail techs. His name is Denny and the few times he has done my acrylics, he has been so rude and rough and his paint work is very sloppy. I don't know if he just assumed I wouldn't tip so he didn't care about how he was treating me. I would see everyone else get offered wine and water and he never did that when I sat in his chair. He seems like he has a higher position but the way he acts, you would not be able to tell. I almost stopped coming here but the last time I came, they had someone different do my nails and I had such a good experience with her and her work so I decided to come again. Unfortunately the next time I came, I was sent to the same guy as before. He was still rude and when he got paint on my skin, he just roughly scratched it off. I'm a long-time client at this salon, and after the past 4 visits, I've decided to take my resources elsewhere. What used to be a pleasurable respite where I was guaranteed stellar customer service and professional nail grooming is now a place that rushes and half-does its services without regard to promptness or professionalism. From over-filing nails, to poor application of dip powder, and rushing correction of both of them, my favorite spot is no longer. The technician, started with pushing my cuticles, barely. Then "trimmed" the sides and cuticles. He then cut my cuticle to draw blood on my ring finger! He then cut my nails and his version of filing. The shape was horrible. I expressed how displeased I was and he filed a little more-but nope, no good at all. I washed my hands and he started painting my nails. No conditioner, lotion, oil or anything! I didn't get the gel bc I just don't opt for it. He got nail polish on my skin and the job just looked awful! I pointed them out and of course, he didn't do anything about it. The cashier had no clue what she was doing so I just left after paying $20. He should've paid me for wasting my time. But I am not that person to skimp on paying for services-bad or not. I went back a week later to have my regular technician, Jackie touch up 3 nails. He said it would be easier to just redo them all. He's usually very on point but was having a very off day, starting with spending the first few minutes of my appointment trying to figure out how to charge his phone to play/watch video games. In between each of his 5 smoke breaks, he was messy and careless. Each time I pointed out the error he got more and more irritated and finally after finishing me at 9 pm for a 3 pm appointment, said he does not want any more appointments with me. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! My nail tech seemed oblivious to nail shapes and designs. I had to walk her through the entire process to have my nails NOT turn out the way I wanted. They serve drinks (which is a plus), but my nail tech did NOT ask if I wanted anything to drink during my entire service. She dipped my jacket sleeve in wax. When I pointed it out, said nothing. I asked to speak to the manager after my service and stated my concerns, then proceeded to ask for discount since I was so displeased. He refused to offer anything off. I've had bad customer service many places i've been doing my nails for 11 years so that means i've been to multiple nail salons . Never in my 11 years have i had customer service this bad . I got to the salon at 3pm and was attended till 4:45 for a broken nail . Multiple nail techs were just on the pedicure chairs . No communication at all throughout the whole visit . I made an appointment for Saturday at 2 Thursday afternoon, plans changed so I needed to push my appointment to 4, I called right when they opened Saturday morning to reschedule, and come to find out the original appt wasn't even booked! Nonetheless the slot for 4 was available so I took and confirmed it. I arrive around 3:45 for my appointment, I believe Minh was finishing up her break. Another lady comes in with an appt at 4 I overhear part of it and ask her who's her appointment with... they double booked the appointment. so I'm like okay whatever I'll be cool, so they suggest Minh starts on the other client first, although I know I booked first cause she stated she didn't book until Saturday morning, and that I go ahead and get my pedicure done. I was in no mood to argue I was exhausted so I'm like okay thinking it'll take around the same amount of time, Nope not even close. I ended up waiting a whole hour after my pedicure was finished until I was sat down. Now mind you I'm still calm and chill despite the situation trying to be considerate. Minh is sweet she didn't make the appt so would be unfair to be upset with her. Now my feet look great my nails are finished, I got a fill in but I had 2 broken nails cause the nail tech I had to go to when Minh was out was trash. I was charged $40 for the pedicure *expected but $45 for my nails, I didn't get a fresh full set so I'm wondering where the upcharge came from, a fill in is $30 and I got two metallic strips on each hand. I was in the salon for 3 1/2 hrs because you all double booked my appointment. I received no compensation or consideration for that. I was exhausted from moving that morning and had no energy to even get upset as I truly was, but the whole situation was exhausting and ridiculous. You want compensation and will charge for every little thing but I'm extremely inconvenienced and receive nothing but an overpriced bill. My appointment was messed up twice, the original wasn't even booked and and the extremely long wait messed up plans for the day. I'm so disappointed this isn't the first time I had to wait in spite of making an appointment. So unprofessional and obviously unorganized. I've been a loyal customer and referring so many people to your business... not anymore. I highly doubt I'll be back after this experience. read more

I visited for an acrylic full set which I received but the prices are a bit unclear and expensive. I do not think I should pay $50 for an acrylic gel full set with no design or long length. Also the acrylic application was a little too thick for my liking. Instead of applying the acrylics in a series of beads the nail tech I had just applied one large bead on each nail. I was actually charged extra for the length that I got which I don't think is long at all. But I can say that my nails have lasted over 2 weeks. read more

I had been going to the shop for a couple of years now and in December, my friend and I received the WORST treatment I have experienced to date. My bill was paid (+tip) and I was waiting for a friend to get her pedicure done (it took them almost an hour to get to her). As she went to pay, they refused her payment saying that they "do not accept AmEx". However, we repeatedly looked and there was no signage to support that; the shop even admitted they did not have a sign. So instead of taking ownership of their error, they called the police on my friend and I! Luckily, when they arrived the officers were on our side as there were no signs posted to support that they don't accept that payment. They were not apologetic even after the fact. I tried this nail salon for the first time on Saturday. It's Monday night exactly 2 days after my fill in and it looks like I need a fill in already. After reading reviews and checking that they do liquid gel fill ins via their price sheet I called to make an appointment with Justin but was told he was on vacation, so I made an appointment with Henry. I live in DC and didn't want to wait around if they were busy which is usually the case on Saturday. Originally, I had an appointment for 3 but was coming from Georgetown and called and moved it to 4 PM. Customer service was great. Anything I asked about was answered respectfully, thus the two stars. As Henry works on my nails he pulls out the dish for to fill in with powder. I tell him from the price list that they do liquid gel fill ins and he didn't know what I was talking about. Total blank face. After a quick google search to show what I was talking about he told me only the owner does it and he's on vacation. Since he removed the polish and prepped for a fill in I let him proceed with the acrylic fill in. Originally, he gave me a nice shape and I don't know what happened but he went over it agajn and my nails were misshapen. I tried to make him fix a few and after washing my hands I realized it wouldn't do. Henry took the time to do the shape to my liking which I appreciated. Before I get polish I look around and everyone is enjoying water and wine. I was never offered so I asked for a glass of wine. Henry tells me there is only red and I tell him ok. He goes to the back and 5 minutes later he tells me there are no more glasses. Ok? So after polish and paying the manager proceeds to apologize for not having win. This would be ok if I was offered as it's complimentary but if I didn't ask they wouldn't have overlooked it. I wasn't gonna to write a review but I thought I would warn potential customers. When it comes down to it I don't mind a no frills place to get my nails done. They have a gorgeous space and it seemed well priced but I'm going to have to do my nails again sooner than what's normal. My NY fills Iast me anywhere between 3 weeks to aFor me value is the most important and I felt like I wasted my money. Do yourself a favor and don't waste yours. Thank you for responding Justin. My 2 star rating is not on the quality of my nails as Justin does great nails and Lee Lee does great pedicures. However the customer service is lacking. I've made appointments 3 times and when I arrived the individuals who I made appointments were not there. Great customer service is: of someone is out sick or for whatever reason to call their appointments to notify them and ask if you want to reschedule for another day or ask if someone else do their service. Now I can see this being alot if people are calling out excessively. I SHOULD NOT arrive to hear that the person I scheduled my appt with isn't there while you're presuring me to allow someone else to work on my nails and feet. I am writing my review based upon my most recent visit Monday, September 18th. This is because I have visited before, had a wonderful experience and have even given recommendations to others. I would not recommend having Denny do your nails. He was rude, snappy, and ignored my questions. After having to ask for a beverage (which was offered to me at previous visits) and then showing my ID to someone else, he proceeded to yell "GIVE ME YOUR ID!" Despite the shop being empty, I was rushed to pick a color. He then tried to sell me on a higher priced pedicure. When I politely declined, he rolled his eyes, roughly pushed my foot back into the water and began talking to his coworkers. My pedicure was rough, unpleasant and the polish ended up all over my cuticles and even on the tips of toes (HOW?!). My manicure was even worse. He told me that I needed to put white gel polish under the color I chose (I didn't) and kept saying "one more layer will make it look good" (it didn't). He tried to hide the atrocity that were my nails by keeping them under the gel light. When I finally saw them (after 3 layers), they were barely covered, had particles painted into the polish and had bubbles. This was somehow done in conjunction with getting gel nail polish on my fingers (again, how?). I had to ask him to redo my nails because they looked awful. He begrudgingly and roughly did them over (thus 2 stars and not 1) and then snatched my card when it was time to pay. I really like this place, despite my experience Denny, so I will continue to go but just be warned. read more

Where do i start. I got a pedi and a full set of acrylic nails. I asked for almond shaped ombre nails and she gave me oval. After i showed her a picture of the almond shape she gave me stilettos. Then i asked her to fix the shape once more. My nails are a range of different shapes now. Then i had to explain to her what ombre nails were and got upset when I kept asking her to fix it. She said "its only one nail", as if im not paying for the job to get done right. After the third time i told her to just leave it. I've been to this particular salon twice and the first time was an awesome experience! Jenny did my mani/pedicure and did a great job!! She did everything exactly how I wanted it, while doing a clean job; no extra cuticles, no paint on the cuticles, etc. The second encounter with PG nails & spa, Jenny was not available and I was short on time so I went to whichever nail tech I could at the time. Bella did my nails and I was not satisfied. After telling them I was not satisfied, they did not do anything about it. I asked for a manager and was told the manager was not there. She cut my cuticles, I got dip powder, and the dip was clumpy and thick, and overall was not satisfied with the look & shape of my nails. I will go back, but I would never go back to Bella again. I made an appointment online via their website and they definitely don't look at that. When I came in I said I wanted the milk&honey pedi with a manicure. They try to get you to have all this add on stuff but don't mention the extra cost. I left here paying $75 for a mani pedi. Considering I didn't even get gel or acrylic nails it is totally unbelievable! Their website makes it look like a milk&honey pedi WITH mani is $48 and just pedi is $28. But oh no... the pedi alone is $48. I've had very similar pedis and they never cost $50!! Then the fact that the poor mani I got was $28, what a joke. The lady who did my nails gave me one bowl of cold water to soak my nails. She quickly cleaned them, and apparently the spa part was rubbing my hands with the sugar scrub. It was a massage just rubbed on. Then she put my hands in heating pads for 20+ minutes! It was way too hot. After only 7-10 minutes I had to take my hands out. She didn't even realize I took them off until the 20 minutes later when she was going to take them off. There was maybe a minute hand massage and they dip your hands in wax. I don't see the purpose it didn't seem to enhance anything. But my favorite part is that the color isn't applied evenly on my nails! If two coats don't look good, do a third. It was like she was trying to conserve paint. For a spa service, I'd like a good massage, paint job, and not for my hands to get burned. Some weird wax dip still that is not worth $28!! PG Nails & Spa - False advertisement! What does this even mean... - Nail Salons Near Me - Hyattsville, Maryland

I've been going to PG Nails & Spa pretty much all year. The store is clean, modern and the employees are welcoming. I was on the hunt for a nail salon that could do trendy designs but didn't compromise on the shape and neatness of my nails. Justin is the BEST! I've recommended him to plenty of people. I don't even live in PG but the trip is well worth it! Only reason I left off one star is because I usually have to wait a little even though I always have an appointment. This could be due to the fact that my appointments are always in the evening after work. They also provide beverages, which I've never experienced at any other nail salon. read more

Justin was very RUDE and mean to me. I've been coming to this salon for almost 2 years now. My father was in the hospital and I was having a rough day I decided to come and get my mind off of things. I called Justin and told him I was running 5 minutes behind. He decided to take another client EVEN THOUGH I CALLED. I got there 8 minutes late and he made me wait 40 minutes until he finished. I also asked for him to do my eyebrows. He said he didn't have time because he had another client! After he made me wait 40 minutes. Mind you I told him I'm not having a good day my father is in the hospital. He said he didn't care and he didn't have time. Save your money this place is overpriced and doesn't even care about building a personal relationship with you. I spend at LEAST $120.00 per visit and was still treated like garbage. Justin will never get my money again! read more
