They have a no animal testing charter, which is something that's really commendable these days. As a laydee I have reason to pop in to pick up all manner of hair and beauty products. I think this store are really good for finding bargains on things like shampoo and make-up ranges. I'm definitely a fan of this store as they offer a much cheaper alternative to boots.

I visit Superdrug frequently to pick up their exclusive range of 'B' makeup which is vegan. It's an amazing cosmetics range and outstanding quality with the B makeup Primer being the best I've ever tried. The lipsticks and nail polishes come in a vast array of colours too and the eyeshadows are beautiful to use. All Superdrug own brand products are clearly labelled, highlighting if they are suitable for vegetarians and vegans. In particular the Vitamin E skincare, sun care and dry skin ranges are awesome. An ethical super store!

Boots really has an amazing selection of stuff, and it is the place to go if you need to pick up any toiletries or anything that they stock. The only real problem is the price. I think it is a really expensive place to shop and you can easily spend £20-30 without even thinking about it. You can get much of the same stuff cheaper in Tesco to be honest. The staff here are all young, other than a few slightly over make-uped staff who aren't always the friendliest. Its in Bloomfield Shopping Centre so there is plenty of parking and its easy to get to.

The store has everything you would expect: it does a range of nappies, shower and bath products, cleaning products and all their usual hygiene products on top of the standard blend of medicines and health related products. There is also a photo processing facility which can be handy for when you don't want to deal with the slow supermarket machines or order online. The staff are very nice and friendly and will gladly give you their best advice on products. They also will allow you to bring faulty things back with no fuss as I found when I bought a tube of Bazuka that had nothing but air in it! Also sell my mums favorite perfume which I had been searching high and low for and only to find it in ballygowan pharmacy which was brilliant for me, good pharmacy with a selection of gifts, bags and jewellery , make up selection too. What I like about Boots is that it stocks major brands so you can be assured that what you are buying is the real deal in comparison to the likes of semi-chem. I recently called into the Boots in Castlecourt as I had really bad toothache and was going to pick up some gel for it. I went to the counter to pay when the girl advised me of a product they had that would work much better and was pretty much the same price. I bough the recommended gel and it worked wonders and I've recommended it to my friends. Purely because of the excellent customer service and advice I'd come back to this Boots of I had any ailments that could be sorted with over the counter drugs.

There is the usual selection and service that you get from a large chemist with the pharmacy staff being well informed, helpful and efficent. With this being a larger store it has a massive selection of the other stuff you can get in chemists and is more like a boots than a pharmacy. There are lots of make up and perfume stands for example. It is located in Bloomfield Shopping Centre with plenty of parking and ATMs about.

I've been in before to pick up some hayfever medication and stock up on shampoos and the likes. Although the shop is a little cramped for space and cluttered, they offer some good bargains like toothpaste for 99p and discounted haircare products. They also stock a limited amount of make-up and the usual things you would expect in a pharmacy. Anytime I've been in, the staff were always very helpful and the place always seems to be busy with locals popping in to pick up prescriptions. I'm all for community pharmacies, you really can't compare the advice you get from a community pharmacist who knows their customers as opposed an overworked and burned out chain store pharmacist from Boots or the like who aren't as familiar with the medical history of their customers.

Semi-Chem are known for being a great provider of discount stock which you would pay a lot more for elsewhere and this has established them as being a popular choice for the local shopper in the Abbey Centre.
