When my father was dying, a nurse assigned to him was extremely rude and dismissive. It still sticks with me years later. She was a blonde, middle-aged nurse, though I don't remember her name. We asked if a relative could come see my dad, and she snapped back, "I told you no, do you not understand?" Her tone was unnecessarily harsh and completely lacking in compassion for a family actively watching someone die. She also told us we could no longer stay overnight with our unconscious, dying father, which felt cold and insensitive given the circumstances. This wasn't an isolated experience--just one example of the kind of treatment we encountered. I hope she is no longer working as a nurse, because no one should be treated that way during such a vulnerable time. I also wish I had filed an official complaint, but I was too traumatized at the time to do so. In total, we were in and out of multiple hospitals for 6 months. The majority of nurses we were encountered were kind, which is why her attitude stuck out so much. Some people really shouldn't be in a line of work where emphathy is so important. Because of the care we experienced here, we ultimately realized we needed to move after my father's death to ensure better access to more compassionate and reliable care for ourselves in the future.

A week later I called because I'm having pain associated with my diagnosis, I asked why I wasn't being scheduled and the scheduler was there and told me because she has other patients to schedule... I was scheduled then took the time off work and was cancelled halfway through the procedure. Now their computers are broken and can't reschedule. The scheduler tried to convince me my condition isn't life threatening yet I almost died from this , she to this day hasn't scheduled the rest of my appointments. Then to top it off she told me they were cancelled then the day of the office calls me and said I was scheduled, so she never did her job and cancelled them she only told me they were cancelled....don't go here I'm sooo sorry I did, they took my veins and I can never get them back ....

Most medical offices overbook appointments because it's all about the number of patients seen and "units" for procedures performed. Many people in this community are quick to bad mouth the healthcare providers here but what they don't know is that these providers came here because there is a healthcare shortage here and these physicians want to fill those positions. There have been some great physicians that have left this area bc they deal with drug seekers and noncompliance. It gets old. They can make more money elsewhere but CHOOSE to be here. Just remember that.
