We attended the school for 5 months…read more PROS: I love that this school is located in the middle of all things center city. The location makes it really easy to get things done. I loved their nutrition program! It's one of the few in the city that provide nutritious meals. Foods my child wouldn't eat at home, he'd try since his friends at school would eat them too. They do not allow outside food in, which is a huge plus for families that have dietary restrictions. CONS: We weren't always given notice of staffing changes. There was a lot of movement while we were there. Our primary teacher left in December. Her replacement left in February. The other teachers/aides seem less experienced. Communication is the primary reason we left. They conducted an observation study on my 4 year old without notice. They alleged there were behavior concerns, but did not inform me of any issues prior to them conducting the observation. I'd pick him up and they would say he had a good day. So you can imagine my surprise when they handed me a folder of notes (they called it data) that detailed the behavior of my child over a 15 day period, across 4 or 5 categories, in 30 or 60 minute intervals. Primrose did not inform me this was happening, what the goal would be, who was involved in taking notes, or how long the period would last. Primrose advised that I consented to such observations at enrollment. After I reviewed their notes, I spoke with the teacher who said she wanted to tell me about it, but Primrose Center City said she could not. So instead she misled me for weeks. Leadership admitted her inexperience, but still tasked her to conduct an observation of this magnitude. Makes sense, right? (sarcasm). Her tenure at Primrose less than 3 weeks before the observation began. The leadership team at Primrose Center City is the only group of experts I've spoken with since this was brought to my attention, that believe they acted in my child's best interest. I do not. I've talked to child psychologists, attorneys, child advocates, behavioral therapists, sex therapists, day care center directors, nurses, social workers, and veterans with 25+ years in education - they do not. Other parents do not. After I escalated the issue to their franchising company, the local team offered a handful of options that could've easily been deployed when they claim the behaviors began. They defended their process. Shifted blame to inexperienced teachers. Did not apologize. Did not ask me what it'd take to keep us there. Read the notes. It's the stuff of nightmares. If true, what parent would want to be kept in the dark about these behaviors for weeks on end? What about the other kids in the class, why would Primrose subject them to such disruption? What responsible educators would not want to work with families early-on? I'm devastated to withdraw my child under these circumstances. Update: Shared these observation notes with our pediatrician. She said they were "unqualified" and "dangerous". So yeah, ummmm, be wary!

The staffs are always available to help with taking my bag, taking her jacket, then taking her and comforting her so I can leave. Every time I pick up my little girl, she is always smiling and super happy. I can see how much she enjoys herself at Little Angels from the pictures that I get. We are so thankful that our friend and neighbor referred this place to us. I would definitely recommend this place for anyone that is looking for a nice cozy daycare with friendly staffs.

The groups I have seen led by a tall thin man in a hat and a small middle age woman have often nearly brought me to tears. The man is verbally abusive to the children and his coworker. I see this group frequently enough to know it's not just a bad day it's how these kids experience their days... Holding on to a rope and listening to the bickering and frustrated ranting of an adult who seems deeply unhappy and incredibly irritated every day. Working with two and three-year-olds is hard I am sure, but this professional, the man specifically, seems to be temperamentally unfit for the task.

The staff truly go above and beyond for the kids, and there always seems to be something fun and engaging happening every month. From the back-to-school event and Halloween celebration to the Turkey Trot dance, Lunch with Santa, Bingo, GEMS, Father-Son events, and two field trips each year, the sense of community here is incredible. The tree lighting and Christmas serenade are especially memorable and truly capture the warmth of the school community. This is by far the best school community we've ever been a part of, and it's an absolute gem in the heart of South Philly.

She is genuinely excited to go to school every day, which speaks volumes about the loving, nurturing environment created by both the teachers and the administrative staff. Our daughter started at TLE crawling and not yet talking, and now she happily runs into her classroom and chats nonstop about her friends and favorite activities from that day. We are especially impressed with the way Ms. Abigail and Ms. D run their toddler classroom. Our daughter comes home with amazing art projects that we never imagined possible for one-year-olds! As the school is not only a classroom setting but have individual spaces for free play, a library, room for movies and basically an indoor gym. I like their concept here because if my children need a couple minutes to calm their energy the teachers allow for them to go to a more intimate space to still learn but also gather themselves. When I arrive at the school the owner or teacher at the time is always graceful in how they communicate the day. I do appreciate this very much here at the school. My kids always want to go back. Even out of school and we are close by they mention their school. Oh! They provide detailed reports on your child's progress and future planning for continued success as well. All teachers are hands on. Even if a teacher works with their individual group he/she will step in to assist. Its good to see that because our children are not perfect everyday. I like to see how the teachers will respond if I am not around. I like their style here. If you want your kids busy, doing hands on projects then you are at the right place. Holiday season is my favorite. The hold a lot of potlucks where I have friended many other parents. A few who are my good friends now. We do play dates out of school.
