    Strawberry vegan shake
    Arcadia S.

Fine food prepared with love in a family-run nook of a "takeaway only" restaurant. The lady who took our order and made my strawberry shake was welcoming and nice. Pricing is the main issue. Yes, restaurants are coping with higher costs in general but Philly Vegan is more expensive for less exciting food than comparable vegan restaurants in the RVA area. The food is tasty enough (our party of 3 got different items and taste-tested from one another) but the portions don't justify the price, imo. Apple pie spring roll was my favorite thing I tried. Not to discourage anyone from giving Philly Vegan a try (goodness knows we'll take all the vegan fast food options we can get), but do be sure and try the other spots, as well. Yes: VEGAN

Last day of V72 week, and I finally got the chance to try PV. I heard they were good, but wasn't prepared for the tasty chicken Philly sliders. They were in hot dog buns for bread that on site I was worried would be soggy, thankfully they weren't. What they were is delicious. They were full of "chicken" and just enough cheese to make it creamy and Philly good. I a,so got a side of fries, they were heavily seasoned, but not too much, it was the way I like them, topped it all off with a banana pudding shake. When I tell you not only was everything delicious... that shake was like having dessert. Perfect ending to my meal.

Philly Vegan is definitely a little hole-in-the-wall spot. This was my first (and only) time going, and the people there were really helpful with me. Honestly, the food was hit or miss for me. The subs weren't my favorite and some of the flavors tasted a little weird, but that's kind of expected with vegan substitutes. On the other hand, the egg rolls, regular fries and milkshakes were good. It was the "meat" and gravy sauce that was weird to me. Overall, not somewhere I'd go back to, but worth checking out for the experience.

I was starving, found myself in Richmond, Virginia, and baby - Philly Vegan on Hull St to the rescue! So I got the Philly Cheesesteak (beyond the steak) with everything. I love the video menu narrated by Momma C - so I got the strawberry shake (oat based). The young man asked me if I wanted fries, but trying not to have a big back. The place was very cute. I love the pictures on the wall. I wanted to sit down, but it's not a sitdown spot. I always start my experience with five stars and deduct as I go along. I deducted a star because my food was salty, but with the service and ambience and that shake (which was on the money), another star grew. Plus when I tried to pick up my Cheesesteak with my hands, it was just too big! I had to use a knife and fork, but taking a bite out of the whole sandwich was awesome. If you're in Richmond, VA check it out. Enjoy the pics (I'm not a photographer.)

A sampler platter with enough for Two!

Let me get right to the point.... Get the SAMPLER!!!! Trust me, you want to ONLY get the sampler! It is a combo meal of cheesesteak fries, a mini Philly cheesesteak and one of their world famous Philly egg rolls. There is so much food on that thing, it really is enough for two people, but if you are greedy, like me, you will eat it all! The deliciousness of this food is nothing short of angelic! Now the reason I say get just the SAMPLER it sets you up for future visits. I now know I want the whole cheesesteak next time. My daughter took one bite of the egg roll And it became her favorite! This will be the first restaurant I find each and every time I come To Richmond. I sure hope you consider franchising to Va Beach.

We ordered over the phone, the hostess was very nice and explained things very well as it was our first time ordering. The Philly supreme was very good and flavorful, we tried the special sauce that comes with and that was good also. We also ordered the tots and veggie egg roll, everything was very good! When we went inside to pickup the food, the customer service from another staff member was also excellent. The apple pie was good, I wish the egg roll itself was a little sweeter but in the sauce it marries it all together, If you're vegan and even if you're not, it's worth a try.

Food was good. The Philly burger was excellent. I ordered the burger and Philly cheese egg rolls. All food is cooked to order and comes out in a timely fashion. Kind and courteous staff that are eager to assist with your order. Ambience is irrelevant as this is a takeaway only establishment. My only gripe is the cost. I paid 24.41 for two items.

I'm obsessed! I keep getting it delivered to my office! The first time I bought it, I was nervous if accidentally bought meat.

Amazing food! Picked up three dishes on a busy Wednesday (the only downside is Philly Vegan closes at 7pm so it takes some planning for a dinner visit for order pickup). Service was very nice as well from my partner who picked up the food. Shared the Philly Cheesesteak Loaded Nachos, Cheesesteak Egg Rolls, and Spicy Chhay Burger with a side of Oh Rings. The nachos were soooo good! They were properly LOADED unlike other joints that skimp on toppings, and the flavor was delicious. My partner said it tasted just like chili-cheese nachos in elementary school - you could not tell it was all vegan. Egg rolls were super good too, just wish there was more cheese inside. Onions rings were some of the BEST I've ever had - crispy, with great flavor, and the best part is the onion didn't fall out when you bit into the ring! Soo good. Chhay burger was delicious and the sauce was genuinely spicy (unlike other places the spicy sauce is just bland) and the burger was hearty and filling with tasty toppings. Overall would totally come here again! Definitely vegan junk food so pretty unhealthy but DELISH.

Philly Vegan is a must try. If you're in the downtown Richmond area be sure to stop through. Its directly across the bridge from downtown. And you won't regret it. There is parking along the street, there is a lot adjacent to the restaurant but I'm not positive if you can park there. The service at Philly Vegan was top tier. The lady at the counter -I believe to be one of the owners- asked if it was my first-time in. She proceeded to give me an overview of the menu pointing out their most popular items. She also notified me of the deals they had on the milkshakes and lemonade. I opted for the lemonade it was soooo good. The food is made fresh and came out hot. I believe I may have waited about 5-10 mins. The restaurant itself isn't large, there isn't an option to dine in but I'm here to tell you with this menu you're going to want to enjoy your meal at home. I ordered the sampler which included the classic philly cheesesteak, the cheesesteak fries and cheesesteak eggrolls. I couldn't believe the portion size. My entire to-go container was packed with all this delicious food. The food lacked no flavor at all.

First, let me just say DAYUM. I'm on a soy- and dairy-free diet due to breastfeeding a little one with sensitivities, and finding an allergy-conscious restaurant can be tricky. This place was top-notch in terms of food and costumer service. The menu very clearly states which items contain and do not contain certain allergens, and the reviews were very promising, so I decided to give it a shot. I'm so glad I did! The onion rings were sooooo good, and I was really happy with the lentil patty lettuce wrap. The staff inside were friendly and very helpful. Will def be coming back!

Customer service was great. We were given suggestions and options to add. The food was hot, like I like it. My french fries were golden and a little crispy, I got the cheesesteak and fries. I didn't have the all the vegetables(onions peppers and mushrooms) that it comes with. I opted out and paid the extra $2 for extra meat. They have some pictures on the wall of the owners and staff... however the best pictures are the artwork from others and some of the local business's products (ie:customized shirt) They have the company's name and social media info under their product. This is straight take out. There are no places to sit inside at all. You can call your order in our have it delivered by one of the delivery services everyone uses. If you decide to come by parking, is on the street only. Oh and you don't have to pay for it...well, I didn't. Go check them out!!! Black owned and reppin my hometown too... extra love for that

This right here was very unexpected and THE BOMB. We were immediately greeted and the customer service was very genuine and welcoming. My boyfriend grandmother is best friend with owner's granddaughter so we came here to check the food out and I was blown away. They always say it's expensive to go Vegan.. well i'm a quality over quantity gal and let's say i'd go full Vegan after stuffing my mouth with the "Red Double Lentils Burger" . The burger was very crunchy and seasoned along with the fresh toppings and additional sauce. I was flattered at how big and juicy this burger was amongst the taste I was just in awe. The fries were seasoned to perfection and they definitely give you a load of food. I also ordered the Vanilla Oreo Cookie Milkshake which came with the golden oreos and tasted just like a banana pudding cake omg it was delicious. I would definitely come back here. I had only planned on spending $60 or so but ended up spending $140 including a great tip for my waiter. I got the Fried Chicken Banh Mi, Dan Dan Noodles, and my guest ordered the Brisket Pho, and Singapore noodles alongside a Mojito and their coconut ice cube drink (blanking on the name). I loved every bite of my food. The Daikon Radish was the highlight of the Banh Mi and I was in love with every bite. Visibly dancing and gleaming with joy while eating + the great music being played also helped. I didn't eat my sandwich until it got cold as I like to finish a dish before trying another. I started with the Dan Dan noodles and had to drink 3 of the liters of water by myself to finish my meal . I took my guest's peppers and my peppers and crushed them up into my Dan Dan plate with all the seeds that came with them. In addition I also used all the chili oil paste it came with as well. It was so damn great I enjoyed every second. My guest loved their pho and didn't stop eating it and ate half of their Singapore noodles before getting full and having to take it home. They absolutely loved their drinks and it was so fun to watch the bartender make the drinks. Two shakers in hand mixing the drinks and oh boy were they strong . We will definitely be back!!! Oh and they also had chopsticks for us to use and we ate our entire meal with them. I knew I was in for a whirlwind of flavor when the ethnicities of the cooks matched the restaurant and patrons of color from Pakistani, Black, Indian, Korean, Thai, and more were dining in . Only downsides for me personally were the Singapore noodles but it wasn't my dish. I tasted them and didn't think they were for me I usually prefer a different ratio of seasoning for my Singapore noodles. My guest whose favorite dish is Singapore noodles quite adored them. Though they did say the Singapore noodles I make at home are better they still crushed it and the next morning woke up and crushed the rest with a smile on the face . Only thing I didn't like was the pho but that's my personal taste getting in the way. I don't like fish based broths but my guest ate every single last dropped and loved it! So if that's your alley go for it!!! 10/10 will try again!!! P.S. please tip the staff graciously they work so hard. If you're going to order a $100 worth of food don't be the person not tipping or tipping $10 when the service was excellent. Yes tipping cultures shouldn't exist but until they're paid a fair wage please continue to do so. I really hope this restaurant doesn't sell out like other restaurants (En Su Boca )

I thought the spicy cauliflower was yummy. The cauliflower was tossed in a gochujang sauce with a light crunchy batter. My partner thought the cauliflower was a bit bland. The serving of the appetizer was quite large for two people, we couldn't finish it all. I ordered the curry laksa. I usually stray away from coconut based curries because they tend to be too sweet, but I enjoyed this curry. The base is creamy and balances well with the savory/tangy flavors, and the veggies are fresh. The server brought out chili crisp upon request. The kung pao tofu glaze was a bit on the sweeter side and not as good. The sweet glaze on fried tofu made it taste almost like a French toast. Overall, a decent asian fusion spot to stop by for lunch or dinner.
