Pastrami Reuben

I usually always get the calamari sandwich because it's my favorite. However today I got the pastrami Reuben for St. Patrick's Day and it didn't disappoint. They also have the best breakfast burritos!

Longtime favorite spot to hit before heading out on the water in Moss Landing or Monterey. Substantial burritos--you will be stuffed if you eat the whole thing. Ladies behind the counter are super nice and friendly, coffee good and refillable. Eggs: freshly scrambled, but a bit in the dry side. Potatoes: fresh and country-style, not particularly crisp Protein: spicy sausage is my go-to here, and quality is excellent Salsa and veg: very flavorful and super fresh, ripe chunks of avocado

Located on a side road, Phil's snack shack is just that- a cute little house turned into a delicatessen with gourmet burgers and a nice breakfast selection. The portions are big and the food is tasty. It appears to be family run as well. Wonderful grab and go kind of counter if you have 15 minutes to wait for the home cooked food or you can have a seat- the seating is plentiful and the back patio backs up to a marshy aqueduct.

Swung by here to break up a 4 hour drive between SLO and SF, this was a perfect halfway spot to stop and get a bite to eat and enjoy the scenery and park across the street. Friendly staff greeted us when we walked in. The menu has plenty of options, so we ordered a few items. We ordered a calamari sandwich, jalapeno burger, fries, and fried zucchini. The outdoor seating area next to the lagoon is great, really pretty and calming to relax at after being on the road for 2 hours. Dog friendly too, so that was a big plus. The food came out pretty quickly. Good size on all of the food, more than enough to eat for the two of us and our toddler. My calamari sandwich was delicious, perfectly fried and not greasy. The sourdough bread was a really nice choice to balance out all of calamari, tartar sauce and veggies. My wife's burger was loaded up with all of the fixing and it was a nice and juicy patty. It was quite good with the heat from the jalapenos. Crinkle cut fries were a fun surprise, cooked perfectly and not greasy. The fried zucchini were awesome, larger than anticipated and really juicy. Overall a great pit-stop on a long drive, though I would certainly go out of my way a bit to eat here again!

Friendly Good price for the huge portions (9.99 breakfast burrito) Open earlier than many of the restaurants nearby in Moss Landing if you're looking for breakfast to go

The vegetarian burrito was delicious and just what I needed before a whale watching trip where we would be out on the ocean for a long time!

Love the decor/design and vibes (music/theme). Service was great! Helpful, friendly, and accommodating. The bartenders are really serving up crafted cocktails. We ordered the following: -Start Me Up, my partner loved this. He is an espresso drinker and love the flavor profile -Like A Virgin, this is on the sweeter side but the prosecco side car really balances it out -So Fresh, So Clean: normally comes with tequila but I swapped for vodka and it was very refreshing -Davis In My Bones, partner loved this This place turns into a club at 9:30, so there are plenty of options depending on your mood! Come check it out!

This is definitely not a happy hour or "let's grab a drink" place. It opens at 6pm, and on a…read moreThursday at 6pm on the dot, I was offered only a bar seat without having a reservation. No big deal, as I wanted the bar anyway, but something others should keep in mind. The cocktail list is plentiful and intriguing. I tend to avoid tequila, so that eliminated a good chunk of the options. I went with Rose Colored Lenses, which was fantastic, and decently sized. Presentation was beautiful. My friend had All a Dream, also very good. The wine offerings are minimal, this is very much a cocktail or champagne type of place, with caviar being the primary food service. Speaking of service, the bartender was excellent, both in his mixology and demeanor. It took awhile to get the drinks, but I assume that was due to the complexity of the cocktails, paired with having just opened the doors a few min earlier. Two notes: 1. The barstools were a little too low, imo. I don't normally pay much attention to that detail, but these were uncomfortably low for me, even with my long torso, I was hyper aware of my posture. So maybe that's actually a good thing 2. Other patrons were rolling in shortly behind me, so there is probably an early crowd when they first open, then a late night group that appreciates the 2am closing time. Interior is beautiful, and you can use the steps up to the 2nd floor either from N Santa Cruz or the rear parking lot off W Main. More substantial food options are a mere few steps across the hall at Heritage.
