You may see some small animals. Ducks bunnies lizards or even a hawk.

Seems clean and well managed, but the road noise and extreme temperatures quickly transform overnight "adventure tent" camping into a dystopian hellscape. There is nothing the county can really do to improve this; this repurposed flood control area is nicely appointed and kept up; its just that camping here may not be a great idea.

Beautiful park with campgrounds and boat launch. They just redid the boat launch so there are now two docks to launch from yeah! The views at sunset are beautiful. Many birds to watch. You can also take a look at our local locks.

You could drive for 30 minutes and still not see everything! We stopped by on a weekday and the park was pretty and relaxing. Not too many people on the couple of trails we did. The observation tower is closed but they still have a nice boardwalk up to that area that makes for a great walk! It's pretty highly elevated for Florida - kind of impressive in person! Entry is $6 per car, and the lady provided a map and recommended her favorite trail. We checked that trail out as well (the white trail), but the height of the observation tower trail was really the star! We decided to drive around after doing both trails, and we saw their campgrounds. So surprising at how busy this place was! It seemed there was hardly an empty spot! Must be a happening place to camp! We'd definitely return for more adventures, as this is a cool park!

There's overlooks and and an endless supply of trails to choose. I will definitely be back with some chairs and hoping for some quiet time to myself. This LGBTQ+ campground,…read moreis quiet, relaxing, very old and worn a few permanent residents, nice pool area..no restaurant or bar, bring everything you need, no dance floor no real entertainment even on holiday weekends. There is a shack in the wooded area by the boardwalk for indiscretions.. ( the only fun or interesting thing there), are bit pricey for the cabin rentals, especially the tiny tiny ones, that you can't even turn around in.. plus a 25$ a year membership, and 10 $ day pass, that sadly end at 4 pm.. ridiculous. They really dont know how to run a business.. soo many potentialfor this place.. . You can however rent a rv or camp nearby within 5 miles and go for a day or 2. We did about 4 miles away rented a rv. And do the day pass thing. Now, for the most part.. its clicky , and not many newbies.. friendly people there, nothing to do.. the 2 guys that own it are rude and nasty as fuck.. condescending, the short old one drive around in the golf cart and watch everyone, a gestapo. Rude and nasty, very very unfriendly, and makes any newcomers uneasy and unwelcome.. you figure they would love new blood to stair some life in the place. It could be a great place. Have a little food place, a bar.. or sorts ... a dance area.. breath some life into this place.. Owners could be a bit more friendly accommodating. Don't ask them anything.. j7st ask any of the resident or you'll get you head chewed off

We never did anything to get in trouble the 3 years I lived there. They gave one ridiculous violation because the house number on trash bin (which is 1 on the house and 2 on the trash bin on ground) had been sun bleached out but the number on the house was CLEARLY readable. This place is ruined by the rude snowbirds. Rude security staff (except Brooke she is amazing) they gave anyone who came out a hard time. We called everyone in even had to call in doordash bc they wouldn't let them come in. All together the only thing worth it out there is the views and amenities at the clubhouse. The people act like pure trash to anyone they don't deem old enough for "their island." They even threw a fit for owners trying to Airbnb their homes when they were not in town God forbid they stayed less than 1 month at a time. Can't wait for the old stuck in their ways people to die off and stop discriminating against "young people". The snowbirds were the worst there the mindset is its mine and you shouldn't be here even though my husband and I were residents year round. 100% reason why we didn't purchase a place out there. Stop discriminating and MAYBE they can be seen as great place.

We were able to put our big ole truck next to the rig easily. It was super quiet and everyone was friendly. The owners are very kind and caring. They seem like they enjoy what they are doing. The only reason I gave this park a four instead of a four five is there are no laundry facilities or bath house. Although we didn't need either, it's good to know in advance so you can be prepared. It takes about 15 minutes to get into town. Not many good restaurants nearby but we decided to cook. We also perused the flea market. There are gators in the lake, so you don't want to swim in the lake! Wifi, outdoor pool, pet friendly, gated. Dog bags are provided through out the park, very thoughtful. However there's no trash by the dog park or anywhere near by to throw away. Can only go to big dumpster. We love this park! It's a great location for weekend getaway for us. We are thinking of coming here once a month!
