Pho #1 is honestly among some of my most favorite pho spots in the South Bay. I know I know, a top pho spot outside of San Jose?! Just hear me out! For starters, their summer rolls were packed full and quite fresh, a good indicator of what was to come. We got the Bun Bo Hue and the Pho Combo #1 which included all the usual cuts of beef plus oxtail. I would HIGHLY recommend paying $1 extra for the fresh, wide rice noodles. These are considerably softer than the standard pho noodles and do a way better job of soaking up the broth. The Pho Combo #1 broth was incredibly addicting with just the right amount of oil that just makes you come back for more. The oxtail here was also a welcome addition that made the broth even richer - falling apart at the slightest touch and just melting in your mouth. As a huge fan of Bun Bo Hue, Pho #1's rendition did not disappoint either. You could taste the shrimp paste and pork blood in the broth and it was also chock full of delicious cuts such as pork hock, fish cake, and beef shank! Again, the fresh, flat rice noodle really works well with the BBH, soaking up all the delicious, spicy oil. I will definitely be back to try more but don't sleep on this Sunnyvale pho spot! read more

I visited this place with 2 of my friends. While 2 of us ordered vegetarian pho other friend ordered lemongrass chicken with vegetarian egg roll over noodles. We also ordered some fried tofu with salt and pepper to share. My fav among the items was tofu with salt and pepper. At other place you just get fried tofu but here they were coated with salt and pepper which gave a much superior taste to the dish. I'd surely return to this place for fried tofu. The vegetarian pho was average. While the quantity was quite huge and filling, the vegetable broth was not as flavorful as I'd have hoped. It also didn't seem to bring as many spice flavors as you expect in a pho broth like star anise, black cardamoms, etc. I wish if the flavor was stronger so I'd have added it to my recurring places to visit. Finally, my friend really loved the chicken marinated in lemongrass flavors. He wished if the same seasoning could be spread over the noodles to give them some flavor to devour. Nevertheless, this place is open till 9 pm which gives it a bit of edge over others and hence I'll keep it on my list to visit whenever I'm late for dinner. The staff was super friendly and place is quite clean, they still have partitions between the tables for Covid which seemed nice and also logical if you have invested in them, why throw away. read more

3.5 Large restaurant with extensive menu. Seems like they have all kinds of Viet food on the menu, from noodles to vermicelli to rice plates, to vegetarian food. Came for lunch with some friends and we got different kinds of pho. I got beef pho with tai bo vien. Broth was flavorful but too much msg it made my tongue dry. Regular bowl with lots of Rare steak. Beef balls were a $2 add on and they gave me like 4 pieces, so 2 whole balls. Not worth it, beef balls were chewy and not great. Service was nice and fast. The workers were Viet but I noticed there weren't a lot of Vietnamese patrons in the restaurant. Overall, decent but there's better places around. read more

The food was good! The oxtail was a different experience for pho. We came late, but the rest of our party placed our order for us. I'm giving it a three because one of the orders didn't come out but was charged for it. And 2, one of our family members has an extreme allergy which was communicated thoroughly. This is a no-frills Vietnamese spot that served the perfect food for a chilly night at a good price point for the amount of food that you get. If dining indoors, they do have transparent dividers separating all of the tables which is nice. They also seem to be ramping up the use of a robot waiter since someone was training the machine while we were there :D We started out with the grilled pork spring rolls (A11) which provided the perfect combination of flavorful pork and light and refreshing vegetables. They also give you four pretty sizable spring rolls which I thought was great value for the price. In terms of main entrees, we split the pho combo 2 which came with rare steak, well done flank, brisket, tendon, and tripe along with the grilled beef vermicelli bowl (#49). Once again, the portion sizes are quite big and we ended up walking away with a good amount of leftovers (which is always a plus)! Otherwise, the pho broth was solid and it was chock-full with different meats, but the noodles were pretty clumpy. This is one of my top 5 favorite pho restaurants. Fast friendly service. I usually always get the #1 which is the beef combination, but today I felt adventurous . I Decided to try something new. I got the #28 which is Fried wonton soup w/rice noodles. It was sooo good! So much flavor in the broth, I would definitely recommend. I also ordered an avocado smoothie. I really enjoyed it, it was creamy and wasn't to sweet. For some people this smoothie might be a bit bland. Next time I come I will for sure ask them to add a bit more sweet condensed milk.
