I was eager to try the "value platter", which comes with 2 egg rolls, spring rolls, rice bowl, salad, and small beef soup. I got a very refreshing jasmine iced tea to start. And when the plate arrived.. WOW! Check out the picture, it was HUGE! The beef was tender and full of flavor and the salad was just right. It was delicious! It wasn't too busy, even during lunch rush, and I enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere of the interior. I honestly look forward to coming back and trying out their Pho! This is an amazing local Vietnamese restaurant! The food is amazing and the service is great! You are greeted at the door with a big smile from Hoi Ann's made to feel at home. They have an excellent and very complete menu. The pho is tasty and the choice of proteins ensures you will find a favorite. They have vermicelli and crispy noodles along with your choice of meats. Or tofu, let's not forget the tofu. It is excellent as well. Many veggie choices in most dishes and even in egg rolls and spring rolls as well. And loved the drinks. Pho Bac Ky is finally back open again after having been closed for almost a year due to some fire or something. Their standard pho tai is always with the most tender beef. I feel like at other locations, you always have to upgrade to filet mignon to get the tender beef, but here, it's the standard. We've been going there for a while now and I think compared to other pho places within a 3 mile radius, it's the best and reasonably priced. Of course you could drive out to Westminster or GG, but when you want to stay local, the prices here are still relatively decent and the service is good. read more

Not feeling well, I suggested getting pho for lunch. We tried this place on Red Hill. We don't frequent this particular strip mall often. The host greeted us warmly as soon as we came thru the door, and we were seated right away. In answer to my question, I was told that the Pho Special Combo had beef (rare steak, well done brisket, meatballs, tripe, and tendon). "Everything but seafood and chicken." That sounded good. It came with the usual plate of bean sprouts, fresh cilantro & basil, lime wedge and slices of jalapeno. Hubby usually adds hoisin sauce, so I tried that, too. The broth was flavorful enough with the spices, that I didn't need more than a squeeze of lime. The noodles were a good length, not too long and cumbersome. My hot jasmine tea came in a large plastic cup. Hubby got the Bun Thit Nuong with additional egg roll and charbroiled shrimp. The Lychee Delight was his beverage. Our server checked on us, and we got the bill and takeout container promptly. Next time, I'll try the Claypot Soup. Intriguing! read more

The food was ok, However, The service was really unprofessional. When we asked the man questions, or just to refill our water he made it out like it was the biggest inconvenience. When I was given my receipt the man made a snide comment about not leaving a tip (why would I with the treatment I was experiencing). The food was ok like most of the reviews say...standard issue not spectacular BUT beware when paying! After you order someone comes & tells you if you pay in cash you get a discount. They don't bring you an itemized bill & when we asked for our check they said just pay up front. When we got to there we asked what the discount was if we payed cash. I've been patronizing this place for at least 10 years. Consistent food, like Old Faithful, as long as you don't expect the same 10/10 quality and portions that you'd find going down the 22 freeway towards Little Saigon. Takeout is wonky for pho, so I stick with Bun and com tam bi dishes for ease of carry out and eating at someone's work desk. Ample parking and they have a front table dedicated for all of the 3rd party orders through the usual suspects like Grubhub (through Yelp app) and DoorDash. I have tried calling in my order directly a few times to save on the markup. Unless you order right at 11:30am, with the background noise and repeating oneself, it's almost worth it to just absorb the additional cost and order directly online. This remains my go to for when I don't have time to make it to the Viet good eats epicenter. read more

This place is disgusting and should be investigated. Third time finding bugs/mosquitos in our food. First two times I let it slide but a third time is unacceptable. Stumbled upon this pho place on a weekday lunch only to find out they come from the same family as Pho Bac Co in Irvine. The latter has been my go-to for years being nearby home and it's good to know this one exists in case I find myself around Tustin craving Vietnamese food. Fried egg rolls is a given when ordering a hot bowl of pho. It is the perfect duo for me with the greasy crunchy factor that pairs well with the soft rice noodles from the soup. We come here pretty often when we crave pho (especially these days with the rain) and it's definitely one of our favorite pho places to go to near here! The food is pretty average-- "mid" as GEN Zers would say. It's not bad but definitely not the best. The broth is what you would respect with the classic flavoring of a beef broth. The noodles are good, not too chewy. Honestly, on a pho day... mid pho is the best! It always hits the spot for sure. The meat is also not too chewy, which I've seen with other places sometimes. The service is not bad, the servers always serve us at a timely manner and the people here are really nice to help you with what you need! The place is a very classic pho restaurant but it looks cleaner than other places I've been to. I always see someone cleaning the tables so that's good enough for us! The reason why one star was taken off was because the server had his finger almost in our bowl as he was serving us the food. We didn't say anything because honestly, it was fine for us. It's not the most sanitary though and the woman cleaning the table next to us was also spraying very close to our food. It's not a fancy restaurant so it didn't bother us too much but these are things to consider when thinking about visiting here. The food pricing is not too bad as well! It used to be a lot cheaper so seeing how pricey it got did break our hearts a little but it's still cheaper than most places! You definitely get enough food tor the price though. I am so happy they are re-open! Unfortunately there was an electrical fire in the kitchen which closed them for 9 months. Over the years this place has become my favorite Vietnamese restaurant due to its delicious food, reasonable prices and warm friendly service from the hard working family. Charbroiled chicken with egg noodle- 5/5 sooo good. The broth has a lot of flavor. I would recommend ordering charbroiled beef with the egg noodle instead of chicken for more flavor. Charbroiled beef with butter rice- 4/5 they kinda skimp out on the meat, I didn't get as much as I was expecting for the price but it was good. Meat had good flavor and so did butter rice. They also serve fish sauce on the side and fresh veggies. Tofu spring rolls- 3/5 the tofu could definitely be crispier, it was kind of soggy. Thai tea- 4/5 yummy and not overly sweet like some spots. Oh man I really want to write a good review since I love support family own businesses but I have to be honest. I would give this a 3 rating, not 4 for the following reasons. 1. Food was ok. I got rice plate. I saw the pork chop and I told my husband, let's go there. The pork chop was dry and not flavorful. But the side dishes like cha and bi were great! The rice was hard. It said it was supposed to be garlic rice but there was nothing garlicky about it. The rice plate came with a bowl of soup. The soup was sweet. So I wasn't sure if there was msg in it. It's too small to cause migraine for me. Usually a bowl of pho would do it. But it's sweeter soup. 2. Drinks: I got a strawberry smoothie. It didn't look anything like the picture in the menu. It was smaller size too for $4+. But my daughter did enjoy it. 3. Restaurant is clean and has a great atmosphere. Parking was plenty outside. We came at 8pm and was one of the last people out. 4. Staff were friendly and nice. Not talkative but hey I came for the food. Not to chit chat so it wasn't a problem for me. :). I gave it a 4 for encouragement. It has potential.
