Meh. Just one big meh. Pho is hard to ruin, so not much to say on that front, but the homemade lemonade meant they opened up the can of powder lemonade and added water here. I had the pad Thai with tofu, and the tofu was probably a solid 50% oil. I like my friend foods as much as the next American, but there should be *something* left of the original item when it is removed from the fryer. The fiance asked for chili paste, which never arrived. The waiters are nice, just not what you'd call attentive. Unfortunately, Waldorf is a captive audience when it comes to food. The 411: it's been a few years since my last visit to this restaurant. My recent experience was nearly the same as last time. Pho was below average and management is very subpar. I ordered goi cuon and the server didn't know what I was talking about. I was a little put off that the server didn't know the Viet word for "summer rolls." Regardless, theirs were only average, though there wasn't anything wrong with them. Their sauce didn't taste like it was made in house. The pho overall was substandard. The meat was average but not great. The noodles were excessively cut, overcooked and a few noodles stuck to the bottom of the bowl. Literally zero care was put into the noodles. The broth was lacking in many regards. It's on the cloudy side, and wasn't really deep nor complex. The only redeeming value of the broth is that the saltiness and sweetness are balanced. Besides that, the broth didn't even smell good. I couldn't smell any of the spices that pho is supposed to have...I couldn't smell the onion, ginger nor the anise. The aroma of the broth is actually very disappointing. Also, the broth had sparse amounts of cilantro and green onion. The herbs this time were also average. The basil was sparse and had black spots. The bean sprouts were dry and clean. They actually gave a good amount of jalapeños which was a silver lining in an otherwise substandard pho experience. I came here for lunch on a Sunday. Place was 3/4 full but no tables were open to seat waiting customers because tables weren't getting bussed. This place was very understaffed. To me, this is indicative of poor management as servers were also bussing tables to tackle the lunch rush. Bottom line: I'm disappointed in the laziness of the preparation of the pho and I'm disappointed in the management of the seating areas of the restaurant. Waldorf deserves better pho...straight up. read more

Moved to Waldorf from San Diego and thought we wouldn't find a pho place, but we did. Coming here made our day after our 9 day trip across country. We ordered the P1 and young coconut juice. Pissed! I decided to break my no carb diets with some Pho it was bland and i got it to go by the time I got home all the soup spilled out in the bottom of the bag. My noodles were drying out. They put the food in this cheap flimsy container. It was trash. And then I got an order of spring rolls for $5.04 they give you two skinny rolls and cut them in half so not worth it. Was craving pho and decided to stop in with my family. We were not even greeted at the door even though multiple workers looked our way. I had to ask if for dine in we seat our selves before someone took us over to an empty table. We ordered our food including some appetizers. Some new people walked in when I see them get the appetizer we ordered. So so asked how much longer and she went to go put in our order and then she comes back to tell us they were out. I stole her people after us got the order before us and she tells us yes that was ours and they got it by mistake. Not an apology or a way to make up for it. Asked if our soup was almost ready, otherwise to cancel it, at this point we've been waiting 40 minutes. She says it'll be 5 minutes. 10 minutes go by and they bring us the wrong order. My husband was hungry and upset and just took the wrong soup but no discount was offered or a way to make up for it. Nonchalant attitude by all the workers. The waitress with the pigtails and glasses was just the worst waitress. All this to say, don't eat here. read more

The customer service from the two African American women working the floor is absolutely horrible especially the woman with the red/orange poorly dyed hair. I didn't receive HALF OF MY ORDER WHICH WAS FIVE ITEMS. They snidely acknowledged that they messed up my order and then began to question me with an attitude about what I did not receive as if they were not responsible to ensure that I got the items that I paid them for. They didn't even apologize nor thank me for driving back to pick up my missing items. My food quality was poor and COLD. I will NEVER ORDER FROM HERE AGAIN. I'm not the biggest fan of their food but I've been here twice and have always had a pleasant experience. The first time I went I got the Pho D'lite, I just don't think pho is my thing, I'm more of a ramen person. Either way my boyfriend likes it and claims it's one of the more healthier places to eat in Waldorf. The second time I went I got a rice bowl with grilled chicken. I wasn't impressed, especially not with the chicken. They have a groupon currently $12 for $20 worth of food, I would recommend this to anyone looking to save a few bucks. read more

A rainy night = a perfect pho date night. I ordered a P1, eye of round, flank, tripe, tendon, and etc. Give me everything :) So the broth was ok, nothing special about it and it needed the hoisin sauce and Sriracha..I feel that a good broth doesn't need much of the extras. I do have to say the portion was HUGE and I have a ton to take home! The chicken satay would have been better if they served the peanut sauce on the side. It wasn't too bad but definitely not the best I've had. It's the closest Pho place to Andrews without having to go to VA. I do think that Montgomery County and VA do have to take the trophy for best Pho. Overall, it's a decent place if you need a quick pho fix. read more

If there's other pho place in Waldorf area I will NEVER come here EVER AGAIN! Food has always been mediocre from the first day I had them up until this day. I noticed the prices went up to $2 dollars or so and to my disappoint the food quality still meh despite of the price hike. I was expecting that they have begun to perform better but honestly it got even worse! WORSE!!! Ordered to go summer roll (2pcs) which consist of so much lettuce, just a little bit of noodles and shrimps for $7?! For freaking $7 dollars! Not to mention there's no meat included like chicken or pork maybe and it's freaking $7 dollars! And the egg rolls were soggy and doesn't even taste good, also for $7!!! Ridiculous! So my aunt and I were out driving around in Waldorf, MD and came across this place while at Navy Federal bank. Now, I'm a huge pho lover (and have recently been on a low carb, high protein diet and I haven't been able to eat pho because of the insane amount of noodles) and was getting hungry. I saw this spot and thought, "Why not?" I called first and asked if I could bet my pho with no noodles and they said yes. I asked for a pho with flank steak, no noodles all to go. He said it would be 5-10 minutes and when I walked in, it was all ready to go! The cost was $8.96 which wasn't bad. When I got home ( I live in Suitland, MD) about 30 minutes later, the broth was still hot! The veggies were fresh and the flank steak, just right. The broth was very aromatic and tasty(I wish I would've gotten extra broth) and it was so much I still have some leftover and that was both my aunt and I had some. Placed a takeout order. Drove 20 minutes to pick it up. Waited another 30 minutes while everyone moved at a snails pace--and the restaurant was practically empty. Got home, an item was missing from the order, the receipt was on top of the food (inside the styrofoam container), the shaking chicken had 8 pieces of chicken with no sauce. Inside the vegetables for the BEEF pho had shredded CHICKEN throughout it!!! The Bangkok noodle sauce looked like someone threw up. Service has consistently gone downhill, and don't expect much from the weight staff. They spent the majority of their time whispering to each other while giving nasty looks to customers. read more

I was craving pho, and was in Waldorf. There was a Groupon for this place, so what the heck, we decided to try it. When we came in, we stood around for a few minutes, confused by what we needed to do. After about 3 minutes, we were told that we could sit anywhere. We selected a booth, which was comfy, and gave a full view of the restaurant. Clean, and simply decorated with a bit of tiki-bar feel. I ordered a hot tea and my husband ordered a soda. Sodas are canned here, no biggie. My tea had something floating in it and there was lipstick on the cup. I also opted for a soda. I ordered the summer rolls. They are delicious.The peanut sauce is a little sweet, so be careful if you're diabetic. Otherwise, YUM. We then ordered our pho. Shrimp for me, Pho D'Lite (all the beefs) for my husband. Here's where we ran into a situation. The broth was woefully underseasoned. I had to request salt. The pho here is not that great. I don't think I'll order it again. While I was in the vicinity, I checked out the Lexington Park location. Let's just say, yummy!! I purchased the Pho Shrimp. This entree was excellent in flavors. I usually make my own at home but I wanted to eat out, so, I stopped at this restaurant for lunch. I also purchased the chicken satay. I'm not sure, if the chicken satay stayed on the grill too long. It was too dry. Of course, I will not be buying again. I purchased also the crispy butter wings and fresh shrimp summer roll. I was so full from the Pho Shrimp, I saved the rolls and chicken wings for later. Overall, the Pho Dlite is great for those who prefer a healthy lunch or dinner. I'm impressed. read more

Meat was light and an extremely good chew. Didn't have the egg rolls but it does give me an excuse to go back for seconds. I love this place. Food is great. Service is great. I get carryout about once a week. My favorite is Pho Noodles, sometimes I will get the crispy egg rolls. The employees are really nice. Service is fast, and you can watch them make your order. My only dislike is one of the new servers licks his fingers to open the plastic bag to place my food containers in it, and used the same spit finger to grab my plastic utensils (which are stored in a cup with the part that goes in your mouth facing up). The pho at this location is pretty good and always hits the spot when I bring family here but there is definitely room for improvement. The seating tables and booths are always sticky from the hoisin and siracha whenever I come and I end up asking to have them wiped down whenever I come in. The service is hit or miss and I have also had to get up go to the counter and ask for utensils and a refill several times just because I waited so long to ask for them. I have also had phone in orders incorrect when I picked them up but I called them let them know the problem and they gave me a free Thai tea when I came in the next time. We have visited this place 2 more times since my initial review. On our most recent visit, they were pretty busy. We were seated quickly and got drinks ok. Both my husband and I ordered appetizers and pho from our waitress. The appetizers didn't come. We told another one of the waitresses who stopped by that we hadn't gotten our appetizers, and she went to correct it. They still didn't come. We watched other tables get their IDENTICAL APPETIZERS and ours still didn't come. Our entrees were delivered by another waitress. We told her again that we hadn't gotten our apps and didn't want them any longer. Food was fine. The check was delivered and the appetizers were still on it, even though we hadn't gotten them. We got that corrected, but it was still very irritating. On our other visit, much the same thing happened. Ordered, appetizers didn't come, entrees came, then appetizers. Once again, very irritating. I bought a Groupon to this restaurant but I don't think I'll be using it. I'm that displeased. Will not return, even though the food is decent. read more

The food is decent but the customer service is horrible! Each time ive called in an order the person sounds miserable and is rude to you if they didn't hear or understand your order. The cashier misheard our order of extra tripe and instead gave us extra rice. After traveling back home 45 minutes we noticed it was incorrect and they requested we drive back with the rice, as if we were lying. So... I've been to another Pho D'lite location and this one tops so far. If you are a big Pho fanatic, be prepared coming here. This isn't your super authentic VA or MoCo Pho, but it's definitely good - especially with the limited options in Waldorf. This is definitely a Vietnamese/Thai/South Asian fusion style restaurant though. I've had... Bangkok Noodles - They are super generous with the fresh ingredients and protein of choice. The curry sauce is so tasty here. - My hands down favorite. Shrimp Summer Rolls - They are better here than other locations. The ingredient ratio is more balanced here, and the lettuce is fresher. The rice paper can be super hard though, and I recently learned that some locations don't even making them on-site. So that could be the reason for the hard rice paper. Combination Pho - The beef broth here is decent. They meat cuts and selections are good. Imperial Fried Rolls - Standard. Veggie Pho - The veggie pho is awful. The broth is like water. You could probably order it with beef broth, but if you are avoiding any meat product - I guess it would defeat the purpose. Prices are higher than your average Pho place. But we came with a Groupon and it ended up being a good deal. Service here is quick, attentive and good! read more

I was SO excited to get a Pho/Vietnamese restaurant in Waldorf, especially when its sister location has such good reviews but there are a few things that they need to work out. Food: I got the #1- combination (the eye-of-round, flank, fatty brisket, tendon, tripe) The broth tastes great. The meat was okay but very where was my tripe? The tai (eye-of-round) never did fully cook in the broth and my noodles were very stuck together and would not separate without breaking- Maybe because the broth wasn't that hot? The toppings that come with the soup were old. The sprouts were turning brown, the lime edges were yellowed. We tried the summer rolls. They had about two noodles in each roll and way, way too much lettuce. The dipping sauce was a little odd & plain. The Vietnamese Iced coffee came premixed. To me that kind of takes the fun out of it. I love the ritual of waiting for it to brew then mixing the whole thing myself. The arrival of things we ordered went like this: water, pho, toppings, coffee, spring rolls. Not a horrible thing but also fixable. Atmosphere: The place looks nice and the bathrooms are clean (as they should be, as it's a new business!) Servers are seen sitting around- last time I was there a few were in uniform, sitting at a table, eating & playing on their phones in view of the manager (owner?). There is a lovely counter that would be nice to sit at (esp if the place was busy and you were eating solo) but just about the whole thing is used as a server station (flatwear trays, to-go bags/containers, busing trays, etc) I will try them again (because I love pho and they're only like a mile from my house) but I truly hope they get their act together soon! read more

This is the only vietnamese restaurant in the area, and they definitely get away with a lot because of that. The summer rolls were not fresh, as the rice wrapper was hard and incredibly chewy. They put three pieces of shrimp in each roll, but do not be fooled -- they butterfly the shrimp and cut them in half. The meat in the pho was of bad quality and included lots of gristle. The broth was also lacking in flavor and the noodles were broken. If this is your go to place for pho, then you haven't had the REAL/GOOD stuff. Two stars because the staff was nice and the service was fairly quick. Other than that, I'll stick to driving to Pho 75 or Pho Sate in VA. read more
