They had mushrooms in them which was new and different. I've never had that before. I liked he presentation, flavor, and the staff is great. Pho Dam! might sound like the even worse sequel to Shaq's movie Kazaam! but trust me, this place is worthy of your attention! The shop is located right next to Lee Lee Market. I got an order to go: some shrimp spring rolls and a vermicelli dish with chicken. It was ready in about 10-15 minutes and I was out the door in no time! The spring rolls were filled to the max with veggies and had a pretty little row of shrimp peeking through the rice paper wrap. They were refreshing but a bit plain ingredient wise compared to other spring rolls I've had. The peanut sauce accompanying the rolls went well with it. The vermicelli dish was a huge portion of chicken, vermicelli and veggies. I loved the combination of flavors and textures. Service was friendly and fast. I am Vietnamese and have travelled to over 200 cities and towns in the lower part of the United States (from the Pacific coasts to the Atlantic's) , I have dined at countless restaurants, and this restaurant serve the worst BBH out of all, even worse than Cyclo. I usually come back to a restaurant a second time to try a different item on the menu before leaving a review if any to be fair, but will not come back to this one, and will disown any family member and friend whom'd come to eat here. First impression, not good, should have walked out, the receptionist, his name is "T", saw me but did not get up from his chair to greet and sit me, he waited for me to approach him at the counter to let him know I wanted to dine in. Ordered BBH after he sat me. "T" brought out the bowl of BBH and a few seconds later a cook walked out of the kitchen look at me and walked back in, I knew that he wanted to see who ordered the BBH, as a prior restaurant owner I knew that he was hoping a non-vietnamese person odered the item. Broth was salty, had to pour some of my ice drinking water into the bowl. An authentic BBH should have atleast 3 of the following items, 1. Brisket 2. Shank 3. Pork belly 4. Pork blood cake 5. Hue sausage 6. Tendon Did my inventory, found 1 type of meat (brisket) and pork sausage (cha lua/gio lua), that was the only 2 items found in the bowl. No one eats pork sausage with BBH, it is for stuffing sandwiches...it gets ugly soft and the tastes of raw MSG is highlighted when heated. Went to the counter to pay, commented to "T", he responded "we make our own version", I told him that I just wanted to give constructive criticism, he kept saying its our version, asked if I can leave a note for the cook, but this kid will not allow me to do so, I am a friend of the owner, wanted to surprise him that I am in town and we should hang for a few, guess that is not on my to do list any more. $17 for bad food, plus bad attitude = bad deal. read more

They had no problem with this accommodation. The peanut sauce which came with it was delicious. We had the chicken pho and another one with meatballs and tripe. We were hungry! The phos came with lots of bean sprouts, really really fresh basil, limes and sliced jalapeños. The broths were beef based. They both had enough noodles but were a little short on the meat-- chicken and tripe. Actually u needed a microscope to see the thinly sliced tripe. The beef broth was ok but being PHO enthusiasts we have had way better broth. The server was friendly and polite. If u r in the neighborhood give them a try. Food and service is great. Not a fan of the ambiance but will settle for the food quality and service. I'm not big on interactions with servers so this is a nice place to be sat if you want to eat alone and have great service when it's needed. This is also a great establishment because most pho places are closed on sundays or open at 11am versus this place is open on Sundays at 9am. Great for the somewhat early birds. I've eaten here plenty of times, the husband and wife are adorable and always great and I've never had any complaints with any of their food. Would highly recommend this place for anyone who wants a nice clean bowl of pho in a quiet environment. read more

The restaurant is nestled right next to Lee Lee's supermarket and very easy to find. Came in for lunch with a few co-workers and was pleasantly surprised at how quickly our food came out and how fresh everything tasted! They didn't have as many options as typical Vietnamese or pho restaurants but it was well priced and they certainly had the staples. I ended up getting the beef rice platter which was very delicious. So we tried the pork chop rice plate, egg rolls, bun bo hue, steak pho, lemongrass chicken bun, vermicelli rice roll, and the crabmeat soup. Everything was good, nothing out of the normal- flavor wise from other Vietnamese food we usually get all around the east valley. The two things that really stood out: the bun bo hue was excellent! Perfect amount of spice and flavor. The vermicelli rice roll was something I've never seen at a Vietnamese restaurant before. That was excellent too! Highly recommend. It reminds me of the dim sum bbq pork filled flat rice dumpling combined with a fresh Vietnamese spring roll. Overall the customer service was terrific and the food was good! read more

The food always hits oh so hard I love the Grilled Shrimp Vermicelli Bowl this trip is so fresh and delicious and you can taste the grill in a good way not a bad way. The seafood fried rice is amazing you get mussels, calamari, shrimp, fish, super delicious. And you can end it off with the mango and sticky rice they have a coconut cream that goes on top that fire. The empty chairs around you may have you worried but I've been here a couple times and I honestly have not had any complaints so far! I've been ordering the Hu Tieu lately. We ordered one to try it and it was actually really good as well. Sweet, thick, and slightly tart but nonetheless very yum! I don't have a basis of what it is SUPPOSED to taste like but I honestly thought it was good. It tasted just as sweet as any boba or smoothie- those are usually sweet anyway. All their dishes average $8.99. Most of their menu items are that price except the specialty dishes like shaking beef dishes and foods like that. Servers are nice and friendly. The server didn't check on us for water refills but I didn't mind because I didn't really finish my water. You could have easily called him because he kept look out from behind the counter. But either way, good food! It's accessible from inside Lee Lee's Supermarket as well so you could always come in after shopping. Not too sure about who owns the restaurant though. Came here in search for a durian frozen beverage, but found out that Pho Dam stopped offering durian shakes about three months ago. PD now offers three flavors, all made from fresh fruit: mango, soursop, and strawberry. I chose mango and soursop. Since these are made fresh-to-order, there was a bit of a wait. For those with allergies, you may want to inquire about how to avoid cross-contamination, since I am not sure if Pho Dam has more than one food processor/machine to make these shakes. (I'm allergic to strawberries, and the thought about cross-contamination occurred to me as she was making these shakes, and I decided to hope for the best.) Mom and I found the soursop to be too sweet. If I didn't have the mango to make comparisons with, then I would say the soursop is OK, if a bit too simple/monotonal, but between the two, I'd just order the mango! It definitely tasted fresh, and made of real, delicious mangoes, and not just ice, sugar, and mango flavoring. I didn't ask, but I'm assuming these were served in 12 oz. plastic glasses, based on the size. Each were just under $5, tax included. I'd return for more mango shakes. I hate sweating when eating my food so I don't understand why we are mid summer and they barely have the AC running with fans blowing. This reminds me the feeling I get when eating in Vietnam, not my favorite feeling. The food for the most part was okay. The spring roll was very plain and lack luster, nothing you can't do at home. It was missing the crunchy fried egg roll skin that most restaurant put in to give it the oomph factor. Their bun thit nuong selection wasn't much. For the price you would think they put more meat in there but no, just a lot of bun (vermicelli) noodles to fill you up. The most disgusting com suon I have eaten at a restaurant this far. They give you this huge portion of rice and then the rest is just ehh. The cha in the rice plate had the taste of nasty pork. Gross, very off putting. Nothing in that dish was working for me. And then the hiu tieu sate..... my favorite dish out of all the dishes. If I had eaten this dish alone I would have given them 10 stars if I could. This place is close to home so it's always been a good stop over if you're looking for something quick. This is a third new owner in a few years here, and they're attached to Lee lee's Chinese market. The quality has gone down hill with each new owner and the beef is now really fatty and not very good. They also add cilantro to their Pho which makes it taste really weird. The lady working here seems nice enough and there were a few other tables with people eating.
