They do the real broth for the Chicken as I can taste and real Yellow chicken like in Philadelphia originally. I definitely recommend if you're into real Vietnamese food, especially the chicken. The eatery has been mentioned in a few articles, I suppose the chef is a well known individual. I selected the Pho Tony Special, which is 4 types of protein. It was very good. Not too salty, as Pho can be sometimes. I had taken it to go. The restaurant had several patrons at 430 on a Wednesday afternoon, and more then several to-go orders prepped and ready to be picked up. Steak and brisket pho - their phos are large with plenty of noodles. Although if you're a bean sprout fan, prepare to be disappointed. It's a small dish but I guess you can ask for more. This was good and I loved the broth. Really the saving grace for my experience here. Broth was clear, flavorful, lightly salted, and just delicious. Traditional chopped chicken pho and shredded chicken pho - depends on the type of chicken lover you are - you get two choices, bone or no bone. Either way, broth is solid and comes with lots of noodles. I'd be remiss to say that at least service was friendly and the soup was their winning dish. Although while selecting our seats with our little kids, be mindful that in the winter, it gets cold because the door doesn't shut well and you are on the second level. We opted to seat our larger group of five by the center and I heard the staff whispers behind me about problems sitting there. Being me, I asked if we needed to move. This area in the shadow of the Manhattan Bridge is getting some new places to dine. Pho Ga Vang is ine of them, as tge name implies, a place for pho, specializing in chicken. The staff is made up of young persons. The space is shiny and new, open for a month or so. Be aware, the front steps up are a bit steep, and that makes it not fully accessible. We were seated and hot tea was offered to us. There is seating and tables for maybe 50 patrons in total. We had lunch on a Saturday, and the atmosphere was simple, casual. Out egg rolls were nice and crispy with some meat inside. The pho I had came with beef slices and meatballs. The broth was chicken based, with a lught flavor. A cute restaurant located near East Broadway of Chinatown. They offer a variety of pho if you want beef based instead of the chicken base they are known for as well as a variety of noodles. My family and I each ordered a bowl of the plain rice noodles ($10 each) and a full chicken ($34). The noodles were one size but it was relatively big and a perfect sized meal if you eat with meat. The noodles came in a hot soup filled almost to the brim and the noodles were still sort of crispy rather than soggy when it came out which I like. The chicken was cooked to perfection - very tender and included the internal organs except blood (which is my favorite). They provided two different sauces - a huge bowl of a sweet garlic sauce and the classic salted pepper sauce which is my family's favorite. The place is modernly decorated and has one unisex restroom behind the bar but before the kitchen. It is cheaper if you pay in cash as well. My family and I used to drive all the way to Philadelphia just for Pho Ga, but not anymore. This place is better, closer, and more reasonably priced! Can't wait to come back for more. read more
