Ordered take out and the pho dac biet (comes in large bowl only) is a huge portion. It's really enough for 2-3 meals. I like that they keep the rare meat separate. There's plenty of parking in the plaza lot. They use dry pho noodles, would be a lot better with fresh noodles. I do wish they separated the onions from the meat.

Tried the pho and spring rolls here, both are excellent. Broth had good flavors, and meat was tender and perfectly cooked. I especially loved the beef tendon. Spring rolls were super yummy too, and the peanut butter dipping sauce was tasty. Service was also excellent. They even accommodated my request and added veggies to the pho. Interior was clean and open, and I loved that they had big metal spoons. I'd go back!

Pho Hai came recommended so we decided to patronage this joint. It's located in a nondescript strip mall. Ordered the following: 1. Egg Roll $7.95 2. Number One Pho $17.95 (Thick Noodle) 3. Stir Fried Udon $19.95 Overall, my favorite was the thick noodle Pho with the egg rolls. Flavors were solid. Although the meat on the stir fried udon was tasty and tender, the udon was overcooked and there were no veggies in the udon. Solid dining experience.

Visiting a friend and he was under the weather and was craving Pho. He recommended Pho Hai in El Monte. The broth is rich, flavorful and authentic. Portions are generous--perfect for a hearty meal. Walked away feeling much better. Family-owned and operated. Service was warm and attentive. Please support small business.

I absolutely love this spot for Vietnamese food. Every dish I've tried has been consistently flavorful, well-seasoned, and deeply satisfying. My standout favorites include the fried egg rolls, the Banh Mi Bo Kho, and the Bo Luc Lac--each prepared with impressive attention to detail and authentic taste. There's still so much on the menu I'm excited to explore, so I'll certainly be returning to Pho Hai. An honorable mention goes to their Spring rolls, Vietnamese Iced Coffee and Thai Tea, both of which are wonderfully bold, rich, and balanced. If you're a fan of Vietnamese food, Pho Hai is a must-visit.

Pho Hai Vietnamese Restaurant Looks like a hole in the wall! It's very unassuming from the outside, but the inside is pleasantly welcoming. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Service was really fast!! The food was really good, clean and savory. They had really good spring rolls, which is the reason for my visit. I ordered chicken for I haven't tried it yet, but I'm sure it's just as delicious as everything else. Can't wait to eat there again......

Ordered a large pho dac biet, the soup is very flavorful and they are very generous with the meat portion, a large is enough to feed 2 people. Staff was very attentive and friendly here.

Best in town! I grew up in this hood and have been eating every Vietnamese restaurant up and down Garvey. This one ranks top in terms of flavor.

An amazing Vietnamese restaurant serving amazing dishes at a reasonable price. Pho Hai boasts a homey interior with a nostalgic atmosphere giving it a an easygoing ambiance despite its busy location. After visiting multiple times, the service has become a highlight of the dining experience with staff offering friendly and fast service each time. With an abundance of delicious dishes to choose from I highly recommend this restaurant to friends and others alike.

Y'all if you didn't know. Now ya know!! Pho hai has one of the best Pho I've ever had in SGV. Not only is the pho's amazing but they have this off menu item that's only $8.50! It's a a big platter of bone marrow available everyday between the hours of 12-4 for only $8.50!! It's Unbelievable! The size of the bone marrow in the pictures does not do it any justice. The owner Johnny is dope! The type of owner that treats everyone like family and come to check on you and make sure that everything's all good! Don't believe me? Even Roy Choi ate here and posted it! Y'all gotta come eat here!

The Braised Fish did not come with steam rice, so we had to order the steam rice. For the drinks, we had the Peach Oolong Iced Tea and the 3-Colored Dessert. The Bún Bò Huế was very good. The Braised Fish was a little salty but still tasted good. The Peach Oolong Iced Tea was refreshing. The 3-Colored Dessert was very yummy. I enjoyed the sweet taste of it. Service was attentive, so I'd add an extra star for that. The ambiance is pretty standard--just your typical Vietnamese pho spot. I grew up eating pho in Saigon and IYKYK, the pho in North America vs in Saigon are distinct. One isn't inherently better than the other, it's just a matter of taste. But, I was very pleasantly surprised that the pho here comes very close to pho in Saigon, a taste I've often craved (and this is also how I cook pho at home), but haven't been able to come across in North America. Didn't think I'd find it here in the SGV vs in Orange County where I lived for 10+ yrs. Broth at Viet Huong is richer vs the clear broth favored at most places here. The brisket (thịt chín) has a little bit more fat to it which makes it less dry, cut with a meatier cut vs paper thin. The rare beef is minced a little. All the good things that remind me of the good old Saigonese pho flavors. The staff is very friendly. They all speak English really well which made me doubt the authenticity of the food (lol) but that worry was put to rest soon after my pho bowl came out. This will become my new favorite pho place.

This was a hole-in-the-wall Vietnamese pub. It is a good and fun place for friends to catch up. It is also a good place for big groups. We ordered the Grilled Bloody Clam w/ Green Onions, Scorched Rice Topped with Pork Floss, Thai Seafood Hot, and Grilled Garlic Butter/Pepper Escargot. The escargot and the blood clams were fun to eat. They both come out on sizzling plates. The escargots were chewy and garlicky, while the blood clams were juicy. Both were flavorful on their own, without the sauces. The Scorched Rice Topped with Pork Floss was crispy and crunchy. I loved the texture of it. There were also additional toppings on the rice, like Chinese sausages. The Thai seafood hotpot is not like the Vietnamese sour soup with catfish and tamarind, by the way. But it was still flavorful and perfect for a cold night. The staff were very hospitable and nice. They can provide recommendations of what to order if it is your first time. New Location, Same Curiosity!…read more Decided to give this newer location a try since our first visit to Golden Delight was years ago. I wanted to try their rice noodle soup with a mix of egg noodles and rice noodles, and let me just say... the picture speaks a thousand words. What arrived looked quite different from what was advertised on the menu. Although most of the ingredients were there, it definitely wasn't as pretty or as generously presented as the photos. Rice Noodle Soup (Egg Noodles + Rice Noodles Mixed) Rating: 6.8/10 The soup itself actually wasn't bad! The broth was light, clean, and nicely seasoned without being too heavy. While I enjoyed trying something different, it isn't a dish I'd order again on my next visit. Now let me warn you about their sauté sauce... It is PACKED with flavor but also seriously spicy! I made the mistake of adding a little too much to my noodle soup, and let's just say my taste buds definitely woke up. A little goes a long way, so add it slowly! The restaurant itself is very modern, clean, and has a trendy fusion vibe that makes for a nice dining experience. As much as I appreciate the updated atmosphere, I always find myself gravitating back toward the more traditional, authentic-style Vietnamese restaurants when I'm craving comfort food. Service Unfortunately, the service on our Sunday visit was probably the biggest downside. Our waitress wasn't very friendly and didn't seem interested in explaining the menu when we had a few questions. Instead, she came across as if she was in a rush the entire time, and her overall attitude felt a bit off-putting. It honestly made us feel like we were inconveniencing her just by asking questions. Great service can really elevate a meal, and unfortunately, this experience did the opposite. Between that and the food, it's another reason I probably wouldn't go out of my way to return to this location. Overall, it was a nice spot to try once, but next time I'll probably explore a different dish--and maybe a different location. Happy eats!
