31- vegetable noodles soup
Rob D.

I love to try different places for Pho and other Asian soups. Pho Kietzke was solid. I ordered the Wor Wonton with noodles. It was really good, although they put fried wontons in there, which I had never experienced before in a soup. Maybe that's a "thing", and I'm just unaware. I probably would prefer the typical steamed/boiled wontons (or however it's done!). The service was good. There's no real ambience to speak of; it's in a little shopping strip mall. But, I would go back and try other things on the menu. The owner/manager(?) was very nice.

Love this place! Staff is always extremely friendly and welcoming, great customer service. Food is always delicious. I've ordered different things off their menu and they've all been great.

Came here on a Saturday night before they closed. Owner let us sit even though it was before closing hours. I was skeptical because outside looked pretty run down and Interior is pretty basic. Although I was pleasantly surprised by the food! Large servings, lots of veggies in my veggie pho and toppings and sauces were plentiful. It was very tasty and filled us up. The plating was also very nice. And the prices were not too much like some other pho places around. The broth could've been more flavorful but it was still good. And I would go here again!

Vermicelli with fried onions (substitute for peanut), fresh mixed vegetables, flame broiled pork and noodles with the vermicelli sauce

Firstly I'd like to say this place is absolutely amazing and blew my mind. The service is great and the whole ambiance is homey. It may not look like much but has so much heart and culture in the quality of the food. My number 1 go to always is the vermicelli noodles #23 on their menu. It's bursted with so much flavor, vegetables were super fresh and the flame broiled pork surpassed expectations. I recommend this place for genuine, quality Vietnamese food

Our first time at Pho Kietzke and I thought the veggie pho had lots of flavor and was very good. Big enough to share it with my kid also. The service was quick and friendly.

We like to try different pho restaurants and this one had a lot of food options. We want to come back and try their food plates. When we came it was quite empty, there is a friendly older lady who greets you. Order was taken at a timely manner, they allowed time for us to check the menu and checked on us when they saw we were ready. I ordered their hu tieu and although it wasn't the traditional way, it still had the light and fresh flavor. It came with lots of vegetables, shrimp, and chicken. My husband has their beef pho which was good and he finished the bowl. I tried the broth, it was beefy and herby. You can taste the star anise which didn't bother us. We loved that they had chili oil on the table! The sandwich was delicious!

We'd never been to this place before, but upon walking in you could tell that this place is a sweet lil mom and pop shop. it's family owned and operated and you can taste the love these people have for their recipes in their food. They have a delicious pho and we were pleased to find they also serve some of the best pad thai in town. We did have a minor problem with the bread on the banh mi we ordered, but the owner Lily was very understanding and they did their best to fix it. This place is full of charm and we will definitely be back! Thank you very much Lily for this sweet experience!

Chicken and shrimp pho

I always love a good pho!! Ive tried different places and this is on the top of the list for best pho in Reno. I ordered the chicken and shrimp pho togo and mixed everything together at home. One thing I would have liked differently is having more condiments/sauces togo. I got one packet of sauce and like my pho to be more flavorful. I went for lunch midday and it was quiet on the inside but staff were attentive and friendly.

We are Pho enthusiasts from CA so when we flew into Reno for a day we were happy to find this little hidden gem in a plaza down the street from our hotel. Friendly staff. Great service. Best eggs rolls I've ever had (I rec asking for extra lettuce ) hands down. We got the No 9 and the Pho Shrimp. Noodles are perfect broth

Quality/Quantity - My guest wanted Asian food again, but we had Thai and Chinese food recently so we decided to come here for dinner tonight. Chicken Pho - Generous portions, my guest had to take half of this to-go. Fairly basic soup dish. Chicken Vermicelli - Again generous portions, but after drinking the whole afternoon, I was hungry so I ate it all! Flame Broiled Pork and Egg Rolls over Vermicelli - My daughter's dish. Again, generous portions and I was really surprised and amazed that she also ate her entire dish! Specials also available, see pictures. Atmosphere - Plenty of parking, only two other tables had customers today. Open 6 days a week from 10am to 8:30pm, I think they closed early today? Well before we finished our dinner they had already cleaned all the other tables, put up the chairs, etc. See picture. Clean bathroom Service - Good. Price - $47 + tip. Reasonable price for what we got. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since 2015.

Well they did it again. What a place, what a time, and it's always a great time for some authentic Pho. Oof, I was missing the amazing food from when I lived in San Francisco, and it appears I've find a small way to relinquish that feeling. The food is amazing, great price point. The service wasn't terrible but I'm not too worried since the food made up for it in spades. Would I come back? Yes Would I order too much? Yes. Am I heavily recommending that you atleast try this amazing place out? Yes. It's time for a food nap.

This was a first visit and I will for sure be back. We decided to get our order to go but next time I'd want to take the time to enjoy a proper sit down meal. The one greeted us very politely and that was a nice start. Our waitress was also very sweet. We ordered the chicken Pho and spring rolls. With the temps dropping, you could feel every draft entering through loosely sealed windows but the owner had space heaters up and running so it was nicely addressed. A very cozy little establishment. Our order came promptly and I really liked how they brought the broth separate from the rest of the ingredients. I'm all about the broth and this was a very generous way to serve it. Although none of this food was actually for me, I tasted it when we got home and loved it! Looking forward to my next visit to this "hole in the wall" GEM!

Fried prawns

Lunch on Friday at a new place (for us), Pho Kietzke. Plenty of selection on the menu. Broke from my normal BBQ pork fried rice and choose stir fried beef with veggies over rice. It was quite good and a lunch size portion. But let me go back! First we split an order of shrimp spring rolls. The rolls were very good and similar to most I've ever had. However, the peanut sauce was warm and therefore runny. Had it been cool it would have clung to the rolls much better and served its proper purpose better. My wife had crispy prawns. She loved them. In fact, so much so that I didn't get so much as a taste. Well next time. Our server took our order, checked back and cashed us out. She was wonderful and cared much for the customers. The proudly displayed 'people love us on YELP' sign right over the register was proof of that! Several workers were having lunch and to hear them order you knew they had been here before. Drop by and enjoy something special from the menu.

By far the best pho, banh mi, bun and spring rolls in Reno. I'm a local and I've been to every Vietnamese restaurant in town.

I ordered the combo Pho and it was a large portion. All the meats were terrific and in generous portions. The veggies and garnishments were fresh. I also ordered the spring rolls. Disappointing Experience and Unexpected Charges…read more We visited this Vietnamese restaurant during our trip to 205 West 5th Street, Reno, NV 89503 . It was recommended by our tour guide, and since we were unfamiliar with the area, we followed the recommendation. Unfortunately, our experience was disappointing. The restaurant's interior was quite old and dated. We also noticed flies flying around inside the dining area, which was unpleasant. The food also took about 15-20 minutes to arrive, even though we only ordered three bowls of Vietnamese noodles. The biggest disappointment came when we received the bill. The three noodle dishes were $15.95, $16.50, and $16.50, for a food subtotal of $48.95. We were then charged an $8.81 Service Fee. On top of that, an 18% tip of $10.40 was suggested, calculated after the Service Fee had already been added. With $4.05 in tax, the final total came to $72.21. In other words, the food itself was $48.95, while the Service Fee, tip, and tax added another $23.26, which was about 32% of the final bill. I understand that restaurants have operating costs and that tipping is common in the U.S. However, I personally find it difficult to understand why customers are charged a Service Fee and then encouraged to leave an additional 18% tip calculated on top of that fee. This review is not about the food price itself. My main concern is the overall experience and the lack of transparency regarding the additional charges. For tourists visiting Reno, NV 89503 area, I recommend checking the menu carefully and asking about any additional Service Fees before ordering.

We ordered the Vermicelli with Grilled Chicken, Dry Fried Beef Chow Fun, and Gai Lan with Beef. The portions were generous, and the prices were reasonable. With "Hong Kong Diner" in the name, I was expecting authentic Cantonese stir-fries with good wok hei. Unfortunately, the Dry Fried Beef Chow Fun lacked that signature smoky flavor, and the texture was closer to lo fun than traditional chow fun. The Gai Lan with Beef also lacked wok hei. The outer layer of the gai lan stems had been peeled away, so the stems lost the crisp texture that makes gai lan so enjoyable. The Vermicelli with Grilled Chicken was overly tender and quite salty. It seemed to be marinated so heavily that I couldn't really taste the natural flavor of the chicken. Overall, the restaurant offers generous portions, reasonable prices, and friendly service. I just wish the Cantonese dishes had delivered the wok hei I was expecting from a place with "Hong Kong Diner" in its name. :)

So, check out the menu before a visit to make sure they have what you are looking for. Pros: Yummy appetizers, spring rolls, vermicelli bowls, pho (beef was especially good), and speciality drinks. Other items too I am sure but this is what I have sampled so fat. Con: They really toasted the bread on the Bahn mi, on all times someone at our table has ordered it, it is a struggle to eat, especially for smaller mouths/ those in braces. So ask for it an adjustment- if you need it softer. They are more expensive than other options in the area.

I love their iced classic drip coffee with condensed milk (cà phê sữa đá) and the iced pandan coconut iced coffee. I've also tried the pistachio ricotta cake which was not overly sweet. I've always loved the service here with the clean tables and cute aesthetics and friendly staff.
