I ordered take out from here last week. We ordered the pho tai, egg rolls, and some pork spring rolls. The pho tai soup tasted clean and less oily than some other soups I've tried. The pork spring rolls were not what I expected, I thought it would come with steamed pork, but it was quite different. The egg rolls were pretty good and super crispy. The food was pretty average, but for the price I really can't complain. I was very satisfied with the service. I came by around 6pm on a Wednesday and ordered in person. The food was well packaged and I was ready to leave within 10 minutes. The guy working there was super friendly and helped answer any dietary questions I had. I hate to give this place an average rating because their pho dishes are actually reasonably priced and the broth was quite good. The only reason why I am giving this place an "average" rating was due to the fact that there was a bug in my bowl of pho :( The lady at the cashier desk was very professional about it and just said, I am terribly sorry, let me get you another bowl. The vietnamese ice coffee was also really good, but a tad on the strong side (which I dont mind). The bug thing really annoyed me so I probably won't be coming back for awhile. read more

There are only 3 pho spots in my neighborhood, and this one is the best. My bff lives in the neighborhood too and recommended this place, his family is northern vietnamese. Don't be deterred by the location, it's in one of the old strip malls with the large ass overhead signs. First thing I noticed was that this place was packed on a weekday for lunch and during covid time. A seat had just opened up so I got lucky and didn't have to wait. I ordered a small bowl of pho tai chin nam and as with most pho spots the food came out fast. I liked the broth here, it was very clean and very hot! a huge plus. The noodles were nestled at the bottom of the bowl and served at al dente texture which cook in the bowl as you eat it. The meat serving was a bit small, but i finished the small size and should have just got a large for a dollar more. The service and the prices here are good, also the restaurant is very clean. Ordered takeout on a Saturday afternoon. I ordered the pho tai #1 steak pho with filet mignon and the fried egg roll. We had to heat up the soup in a pan at home so the steak would cook properly because it wasn't hot enough. The soup was really good. They gave us the usual sides to add into the soup like limes and mint leaves. The filet was very high quality. The egg rolls were also nice and crispy. I come into Pho Long Thinh at least once a week if not once every two weeks. This is honestly one of the best pho spots in San Jose. That may be a hot take, but that is my honest opinion. The staff is consistently incredibly nice and accommodating and the food is beyond consistent and delicious. As someone who works in restaurant management--ownership is killing it at this operation. If I ever move away from the area I'm seriously going to miss this spot. I would totally travel to San Jose just for a bowl of pho from here. It has been years since I've been here. I was craving a rice plate so I decided to get it from here. I got the korean bbq rice plate with an egg. Wasn't great. The food tasted bland. I was hoping that the sauce you dip it in would be able to give it some flavor but that also didn't have any taste. It was pretty watered down. The portions that they give you isn't bad either. But I guess you get what you paid for. They're not very pricey and that's why I decided to come here for lunch. My friend got the steak pho. I tried the broth which isn't that bad. After tasting the pho, I would have preferred to eat that rather than the rice plate. It did have some flavor to it. So, maybe they're better for their pho than their rice plate. Coming here two days in a row now because I was feeling under the weather and wanted something warm. It's been hitting the spot each time. I don't usually finish my phos but both yesterday and today I ate every bite. There isn't anything spectacular about Pho Long Thinh, but it's consistent in quality, service and is open early enough for me to come by for a quick bite. I recommend the fatty brisket! It's a little softer than the normal brisket and went perfectly with the noodles. And ask for extra lime to give your broth some extra flavor. And possibly some more vitamins. read more
