Such a lovely bar! I came with a large group on lunar new year and we put ourselves on the waitlist for two tables of 4. It seemed like there was a really long wait since the top of the list showed a 90 minute wait time, but we were actually able to get seated in around 30 minutes. The inside isn't big at all, and its located on the second floor of pho bac. It's a bar seating around the main area, with two tiny tables too. I got the cooling water cocktail, which had soju, lychee, and some other things I don't remember. It was very refreshing indeed! The lychee skewer on top was cute, and it was also the right amount of strength and sweetness. There were so many cute decorations for lunar new year, and they even gave us a little red envelope with a lottery ticket inside :). Great experience! read more

I love how cozy this little speakeasy is! It's not like it's *totally* hidden but it is tucked up and away in an upstairs cove in Pho Bac. We arrived at around 7 on a Thursday and put our name down on a waitlist. I believe we waited around 20-30 minutes so I imagine the wait gets significantly longer on weekends. For drinks we tried the Jameson pho shots which were so savory with a rich pho broth to cut through the alcohol. Our waitress recommended sipping back and forth rather than shooting all at once and it made for an amazingly pleasant drink!! We also tried the golden hour which was refreshing and citrusy as well as the tofu martini. The tofu martini I was hoping would be slightly more savory/salty but I still enjoyed it since it wasn't a sweet beverage. I recommend this place as a date night or going out with friends to chill in a nice bar. I probably wouldn't recommend big groups as this place is limited in seating. read more

I love this place.... the concept, and the creative Southeast Asian inspired cocktails are amazing! Where else is there a hidden speakeasy in an ACTUAL PHO restaurant (the pho was delicious btw, because you can order a CUP of pho AT THE BAR UPSTAIRS. I mean.... WHAT?! It was awesome! Other bars need to take note!!!!)! Upon entering Pho Bac, we went straight up the stairway to the second floor. The hidden speakeasy you arrive at is Phocific Standard Time (PST) -- such a clever name!!!! My boyfriend and I were welcomed to seat around the bar. It quickly filled up with people around dinner time. It was awesome to have front row seats to the bartender crafting the unique Southeast Asian cocktails. I ordered the "dom dom" firefly drink, and it really refreshing with the use of rau ram leaf and lime. My boyfriend enjoyed his La Dua - Pandan cocktail made of mezcal and pandan cordial, hibiscus flower. The cocktails are SO beautifully presented here, and taste amazing. The flavor combinations are so unique from any other bar I've been to. You really can't go wrong with any drink. I really liked the ambiance and decor; there were Asian fruits and ingredients on the counter and the music they played was V-Pop (Vietnamese pop) and a mix of other upbeat tracks. This was one of my absolute favorite highlights during my trip to Seattle, my boyfriend and I both agreed we're so glad we stopped by this Speakeasy to enjoy a drink (and pho!). Phocific Standard Time is a relatively new restaurant that opened up on the second floor of Pho Bac in downtown Seattle. They have no reservations but when we got there we put our name down and waited for a text when our table was ready. We arrived at 5:30pm on a Friday and waited around 15 minutes before we got seated. There were only about 20 seats; there was a bar area and some small tables around the exterior. It was not big at all and I wouldn't recommend coming here with a party bigger than four. GOI CUON ($7) - one order had two spring rolls cut in half but we thought the star of the show was the peanut dipping sauce. We drenched the spring rolls in it because it was so good. 4/5 BANH BOT LOC (6 for $14) - this is their most popular dish and for good reason. The tapioca dumplings came wrapped in banana leaves and had an addicting chewy texture. This is a must-get! 5/5 BANH MI ($10) - I thought the banh mi was nothing special compared to something you'd get at a typical Vietnamese restaurant. It was spicy from all the jalapeños but was just okay. 3/5 PHO CUP ($15) - they delivered this dish in a large plastic bowl resembling cup noodles. The toppings laid on a little plate above the bowl and I think it would've been good if we removed it when it arrived because it continued to steam. After a while the noodles became really soft which resulted in an undesirable texture. They were also very short, like they were cut so they were hard to pick out with chopsticks. 3/5 For drinks I ordered the em oi aka hey darling ($17) and the la dua aka pandan ($15). The hey darling was so floral from the gin that it was overpowering the rest of the drink. The cool thing was that they had the PST stamp on the ice cube though. The pandan started off smoky from the mezcal then eased into the sweetness from the pandan. Between the two I liked the latter more but all their drinks had a unique Asian twist to them. Overall I thought the food was okay. We preferred the appetizers/snacks more than the main dishes and we like some drinks way more than others. One of my favorite bars in Seattle with unique Vietnamese inspired drinks unlike any other bars in the area! There's always a waitlist since the place is really popular but the line goes pretty quickly. It's also on the pricier side but the drinks are super tasty and worth it. My favorite drinks here are the Egg Coffee and the Phin Tini. The Egg Coffee is perfect if you like strong black coffee or a mix of bitter and sweet. The Vietnamese coffee was bitter and had a strong deep espresso like flavor. The egg custard complemented it with a slight sweetness and richness that elevated the whole drink. The Phin Tini is perfect if you like sweeter coffee drinks. It was light and sweet without being overly so and still highlighted the flavor of Vietnamese coffee with a bit of richness from the condensed milk. Another close favorite is the Firefly. The acidity of the lime and fresh melon-like cucumber flavors made a super refreshing drink. The food here is also pretty good. Obviously the pho and banh mi here are good since this place is above Pho Bac, but the Cua Dip is amazing as well. Walk up the stairs through a beaded curtain into a cozy space centered around a central three-sided bar. There is a large open window overlooking the interior of the phở shop giving the bar a sense of depth. While the cocktails are creative and tasty, what might be the signature is a tribute whiskey shot to Khao Pham. Khao Was Here is a phở fat infused shot of Jameson with a side cup of beef phở broth. The Jameson is mellowed with the fat. The warmth and savoriness of the broth is soothing. The simplest substantial snack is Cua Dip. It's a cheesy mayo crab dip w prawns and fish sauce added. The perfect thing to eat on baguette slices. And an instant ramen cup size of phở w noodles is available until 9:00pm if you don't select the Jameson shot. Love it in PST ;) Phocific Standard Time is basically like a speakeasy on the upper floor of Pho Bac. The vibe up in the PST bar area is completely different than the restaurant downstairs. Really like a fancy treehouse! Also, speaking of differences from the downstairs restaurant, the food is slightly different from Pho Bac but there are food options. The cocktails are REMARKABLE and so creative, inventive. I had the la dua - pandan (mezcal - reposado - pandan cordial - candied hibiscus flower). Pandan is such a delicate, subtle flavor and they were able to capture that in this tequila based cocktail! It was so hard to pick so I have to come back to try the ca phe tini and the pho fat washed Iwai whisky! Love me some fat washed spirits. Wow! Where do I begin? My fiancé is Vietnamese and Viet food is our fave cuisine. So when my friend asked me to go to PST, I was a little cautious because I wasn't sure how they were going to serve Vietnamese bar food. Oh was I hugely mistaken in my fear and pleasantly surprised! This bar is on the second floor of Pho Bac, one of my fave Vietnamese spots. I used to work in Denny Triangle and would order from the Pho Bac at that location. So when I found out that this Pho Bac is from the same owner, I was pleasantly surprised! Note: There's a Pho Bac in Renton but it's owned by different folks and is not part of the same restaurant group. When we go to the second floor, the bar was full. We added our name to the waitlist. There was only one group ahead of us so it didn't take long to get seated. For the drinks, I got the Cooling Water and my friend got the Dua Dua, which is a coconut based drink. Both drinks were delish! We don't like super strong drinks and our drinks were perfect! We wanted something light and refreshing and we got what we wanted! Food-wise, we got the spring rolls, pho cup, tapioca dumplings, and cua dip, which has crab and prawns. The spring rolls were exactly how I hoped they would be! The peanut sauce was perfectly sweet and they had huge pieces of prawns so you get a huge chunk with each bite. The tapioca dumplings, banh bot loc, we're the traditional dumplings that you would get from a Vietnamese household. My fiancé's mom's dumplings taste exactly the same! The meat is sufficiently flavored with amazing spices. But you get that extra oomph when you dip it in the thickened fish sauce dip. Now, the pho. I mean I haven't really had bad pho so I wasn't concerned about this place. It was presented in this cute pho cup! Some of my friends thought we got instant noodles, but I had to correct that impression! Lastly, the cua dip. It had caramelized fish sauce, viet mayo, and melted cheese. They served the dip with toasted baguette slices as well as sky flakes, which are Asian crackers! I loved the dip. You can taste the crab and prawns as well as the viet Mayo and fish sauce! It didn't taste too fishy as one might think. Overall, this was an amazing bar with delish drinks and phenomenal food! The service was also top-notch! A lovely small and intimate cocktail bar with a pseudo speakeasy vibe, this is a great place to grab and drink and enjoy some tasty pho. We can early on a Friday night in the fall before a movie showing to grab a drink and some food. We were able to be seated right away, though the seats we're filling up fast and by 5:45ish there was already a virtual queue of people waiting. We grabbed out seats at the bar where we had a great view of the busy bar tenders were hustling to make drinks. We had an espresso martini variation that was creamy and smooth and the roses drink was absolutely fabulous. I love a good egg white drink and this one did not disappoint at all. The food was almost the biggest hit, I loved the unfortunate cookie mix, though the chili oil really did pack a punch. The pho of course was fabulous and taken from right downstairs at pho bac, but served in an adorable and hilarious takeout noodle cup. Would recommend visiting either earlier when the open or much later after dinner hours. I wrote a raving review a few years ago, and we didn't want to be disappointed by a lackluster experience. Hot damn, Phocific Standard Time delivered. We went with a friend and got lucky enough to snag some remaining chairs at the bar. It's a tight squeeze, so be prepared to put your name on a waitlist. But the drinks were great and the service was on-point. The drinks were Vietnamese-inspired and had an Asian flair to them, and we didn't even know where to start, as they all sounded really good to try. The artistry and effort put into these drinks were sublime and we definitely enjoyed our time. They also deliver food from the kitchen, which paired nicely with the drinks we ordered. I myself ordered a rice lager to start the night, and I may have just found one of my favorite type of beers. Cherry on top though? Our friend was visiting from out of town and really just wanted to try the pho broth. So we asked the bartender and they gave us a small kettle of broth with three cups, all on the house. The broth was delicious, as always, and it was perfect to warm our souls on a cold and gloomy night. Great drinks, great ambiance, great service. Before my trip to Seattle, I had stumbled upon a video or post about the Phin-tini's at Phocific Standard Time and knew that I 100% had to make a stop while I was in town. I came in on a Saturday night around 8/8:30pm, the waitlist for was about an hour when I put my name down. They do not take reservations here, and additionally, they are a pretty small place. I would not recommend coming here if you have more than 4 people in your group since it doesn't seem like there'd be space for bigger groups. The concept of this bar is so interesting and unique! It's located up the stairs above the pho kitchen, and all their drinks draw heavy inspiration from unique Asian ingredients or snacks. We did not have any food when we visited, but the snacks list looked pretty decent as well. On to the drinks - the Phin-tini was absolutely DIVINE! The presentation of the sprinkled pandan dust was super artistic and well done. The flavor was sweet and relaxing, and I would definitely recommend this to everyone as a must get. I also ordered an egg coffee - they blowtorch the sugar on top of the egg foam to create a nice burnt top. My only mistake was thinking it'd be a good idea to get their viet coffee phin-tini AND an actual egg viet coffee at 10PM. But if you're down to get some crazy caffeine shakes with an alcoholic twist, these drinks should both be on your list. read more

If you want unique and delicious drinks, come here! Phocific standard time (PST) is located inside Pho Bac on the 2nd floor. Make sure to waitlist on their system right by the top of the 2nd floor. I wish you could Yelp waitlist or something as it's a little difficult to get notified your table is ready (we had to consistently check in with the staff as we didn't get any texts). Inside PST is pretty small - there's two tables but the main seating is a U shaped bar surrounding the bartenders. I had a couple different drinks that were both amazing. We also had free shots since someone was celebrating and these shots were a rum/pandan shot where pandan was the star of the show. I had a total of 3 drinks from their menu and they were all pretty good. I was also able to try some from my friends as well. It was a long night and I don't remember too much but all their drinks were really good. Not like a dessert but also not too light like coconut water. With a little bit of basil seed. This drink is fantastic. - Firefly: rau ram leaf is a Vietnamese herb that has a unique taste. One of the best bars/speakeasy I've been to this year! Between my boyfriend and I, we ordered 4 drinks: roses, coconut, firefly, and Khoa was here. All 4 were fantastic with complex flavors. Our favorites were the Roses and Firefly where the flavors of each drink shine the most and you can still taste the alcohol. The Khoa Was Here was SO surprising since I was skeptical of the Jameson/pho combo but it just works so well together. Service is also top notch. Although I wouldn't recommend coming here with a party larger than 4 since it's a very small space and you'll need to wait a long time with a large party. Quite a bar! If it weren't for the sign outside of Pho Bac, I would not know this place existed. Enter Pho Bac and take the staircase up, and you will be greeted by a completely different vibe to the downstairs restaurant. I joined some friends around 5pm to check this place out. Note the place is very small, primarily bar seating with limited table seating. We each ordered drinks and shared some food. Note that the cocktails rotate, according to a friend. I personally got the trung muoi - salted egg cocktail as it sounded quite interesting. The salted egg was not salty, washed away by the whiskey, but the drink itself is quite rich and lightly savory. I also sampled the hoa dao - cherry blossoms which is quite refreshing and well decorated. If my friend did not get it, I would definitely have gotten it just because I really love cocktails with egg white. The nuoc mat - cooling water is also quite refreshing, as the name suggests, and it has the lychee. For food, we tried the following: - Pho cup: exact same food as downstairs, exact price, just uniquely presented in a cup noodle bowl (except it says pho cup noodle). I have had pho bac before and it is as close to northern style pho as it can get here, but definitely lacking green onions. Given the options, I would definitely order and eat the pho at this bar than the actual restaurant downstairs - Banh bot loc - tapioca dumplings. The best association I can give (albeit not the same) is the lotus leaf wrap sticky rice from dim sum (lo mai gai). The dumplings here have a nice, chewy texture, though there is not much filling. - Cua dip - crab & prawns dip. This is quite interesting and can be best described as a cheesy seafood pizza if you put the dip on top of the bread / crackers provided. It is definitely a bit too rich for one person to finish. Service is decent, pretty hands off which is typical of these places, but requests are fulfilled in a timely manner. Overall, the food and drinks are solid, especially for a bar setting. I would definitely want to try the other drinks as they seem to do an impressive job with the drinks, but what is holding me back is the high prices (these drinks can go up to $18) though not terribly high as the price of the drinks is inclusive of tax. read more

Absolutely worth the stop while in Seattle . You can eat inside the bar but it's quite crowded and honestly not my ideal for eating pho where I like to be more spread out, so what we did and I would recommend is to eat downstairs at pho bac & then when you are about 20minutes away from finishing your meal put your name down on the tablet upstairs so that you will get called up soon after you finish your meal. This also just allows for a slightly more varied experience where you get to enjoy both the downstairs and upstairs restaurants. We tried 6 different drinks (phin-tini, the salty sun, cooling water, hey darling, pandan, and the salted egg) for us the standouts were actually the salted egg, the pandan, and the salty sun! The phin-tini which many others recommend is super good, but to me it was similar to good espresso martinis I have had and the other drinks really take more advantage of the uniqueness this place offers! The salty sun was seriously so refreshing it could be dangerous! I think across the three of us this was the most widely enjoyed drink of the night. This mixology here really stands out where I felt that these drinks really elevated the flavors of the spirit in them while simultaneously cutting out some of the harsher aftertastes and effect you get from a straight spirit. The pandan and salty egg are both great examples of this. The pandan gives you all of the Smokey deliciousness of mezcal with none of the harshness. The salty egg gives you such an amazing flavor of Japanese whiskey but (even as someone who doesn't generally adore whiskey) was so smooth and drinkable. The salty egg was the true standout for me, I mean when else are you going to get a pho fat washed whiskey with the perfect slightly sweet umami balance! The other drinks were great as well just slightly less unique in my opinion. The cooling water has similar notes to a lychee martini and is good if you like a sweet drink. The hey darling was good if you enjoy a very floral and fragrant drink. I've seen some reviews saying that drink is too floral and I would disagree as someone who really enjoys a strong floral punch this hits the mark, but yes if you want just a light floral essence this is going to overpower the floral for you. Lastly, service was great both bartenders that night were so kind and seemed to read the vibe of different groups well (they'll definitely be chatty and offer more recommendations if you want but also will allow you plenty of space for group conversation if that is desired!) All in all, phocific standard time has been our most standout experience in Seattle thus far! 10/10 recommend! read more

What a fun little bar! The space is small and intimate, the cocktails are all very unique, and I will definitely come back to try them all. Bartender was very friendly and it was entertaining to watch him make the drinks (one drink needed a blowtorch!) Cocktails we ordered: - Egg coffee (ca phe trung): 5/5 - very creamy and strong just like viet coffee - Pandan (la dia): 4/5 - most popular drink according to the server, very strong mezcal taste - Queen bee: 5/5 - my favorite, so refreshing and yummy! Very fun place to drink at. The drinks are unique to Vietnamese culture, and they all taste great. The pho-Jameson shot was definitely my favorite (had it twice). The Tofu Martini had the traditional ginger candy that is really nostalgic to me. They also have a great selection of Vietnamese Gin. The owner was very nice and was able to walk us through the entire drink selection and explain the influences. I didn't get a chance to try the food since we ate downstairs before coming up. Pho Bac is also really good as well and is owned by the same owner. This is as close as you'll get to authentic Vietnamese cuisine and experience here in Seattle!
