My friend and I had an amazingly special time here creating our own perfumes in this lovely shop where they are curating your own scents! They take down information on your preferred scents - things you like, don't like (ie floral, tropical, woodsy, spicy etc) and will come up with "mystery" ingredients for you to smell. What's amazing is when you discover things that you didn't think you liked blending so well with new ingredients (a surprise for me was pink peppercorn and blueberry!). Interestingly you learn whether your skin is absorptive basal or acidic as certain ingredients will smell differently on your skin once applied. They suggest you also dab versus rub into your skin and also go outside to see if the scent changes in the air a few minutes in. I found that my skin was absorptive which actually impacted the amounts of ingredients that they put in my unique scent. Also they will keep your formula on file so if you want to reorder or even get a lotion or a candle, you can contact them directly. This was a blast of an afternoon and I loved it! We were hanging out in the Magnolia Park neighborhood in Burbank and found this store. I was attracted to the store front, so of course I was going to check it out. I walked in and was intrigued, but unfortunately my husband got overpowered by the scent bar and decided to stay outside. For me, I interpret that as quiet "shopping" time (LOL). I am not sure if I can mention a certain company by name, but I was curious about what the Scent Bar had to offer wanted to know if they had anything close to the Shampure scent made by that certain company and sure enough, I found a close match! Thankfully, I found it here and since I'm not from the LA area, I found out I can order it online! I also got a sample of the Ginger Tea cream to go. As I was leaving, I sprayed the oil mist on me and let it linger through the day and got hooked on it. I used the sample through the weekend and ended up ordering it when I got home. Came here with a group of 6 friends for a mini mix session. We loved the experience. Meridith and Karen were very accommodating and attentive. They offered us beverages and let us have access to the backrooms to place our snacks and purses. We all had personal 1-on-1 time with our mixers and all of our scents came out lovely. Love this place!!! My sister and I came across this place, while we were shopping for a gift for our mother. Lovely place to shop for Mother's Day or any occasion. I love the beautiful vintage items and the match boxes are a delight. We bought a few items, one was a teacup candle and it smelled absolutely wonderful. I forgot to ask what the smell was because it was lovely. We browsed twice back and forth and we kept finding more and more items that we loved. You really need to take your time because they have so many great items. We are definitely going back to shop for ourselves. I love the glassware and I can't wait to get a set. Amazing experience for any occasion. We decided to create custom fragrances together for our anniversary. Owner Jennifer was very kind when I reached out. She made the appointment setting process very simple and welcoming. Upon arrival, we were greeted by Jennifer and introduced to Karen, who was there to guide us through our scent journey. Karen was extremely knowledgeable, kind, and an olfaction wizard. She took the time to assist us in trying various scents in order to curate one that we each fell in love with. The overall experience was extremely intimate. As we fine tuned our fragrances, Karen made careful, minor adjustments, that resulted in signature scents, that quickly became quite personal and unique. Guys, take your GF there instead of buying her a readymade perfume. They can blend a signature perfume according to her preferences just for her. She will definitely love it more than Dior since it's exactly what she likes, and most likely the only one scent in the world! Moreover, the procedure is absolutely fun and creative, perfect for a date;) Well, I went there with my friends but it was so fun anyway! My mixologist and the owner (also a Japanese TV star, apparently) Jennifer is so professional and fun to chat to. Although I was quite picky choosing the 'blendees', she patiently suggested so many different scents and made me exactly what I abso-bloody-lutely love. Now I'm home and I luuuv it even more, including the name I gave it -- Yes, you'll name yours and they'll put it on your bottle. I selected the roll-on type, it's $75 (a pic uploaded). Another unique, fun and thoughtful place along Magnolia Blvd. I came to Phoebe Peacock as it was the setting for a private party. And while the party was not about Phoebe Peacock, Jennifer Hardaway and her associate were available to show their wares and expertise. In fact, our party had been granted individual mini-sessions with Jennifer to create unique scents. Now, I'm typically not a cologne or scent guy, but it was still fun and cool to work with the 'Scentual Mixtress' (Jennifer) to create something new and specific to me. And, I like it! You even get to name it. (KleanSpa is the name on the bottle, and I think the brand for these services) There are many little bottles on the wall to pull from. And, when you're done with the scent journey (or if you just like to browse and peruse), there's other nice gift ideas -- for friends, or for yourself. I liked the notecards by 'Le Petit Press' and actually got some sharp Thank You notes. There's also candles (for Men and Women), as well as other notions. If it weren't for my friend's party here, I probably wouldn't know about, let along venture inside. But, I'm very glad to have had the chance to spend some time exploring this store. read more

Most of us hate to see those associates coming toward us in departments stores spraying fragrances, in hopes that we'll stop to purchase some. If they're not spraying fragrances, they're trying to captivate your attention with a spiel about the latest and greatest fragrances. Without a doubt, some of those fragrances smell good, but I'm not one to like to walk around wearing or smelling like most others. In my opinion, there's nothing wrong with being unique, and having your own style and/or your own personal fragrance. Recently, I found out that one can have their own fragrance made, and I'm just ecstatic. Phoebe Peacock/KleanSpa, located in Burbank, is home of oils and soaps, that can make magic happen in your life. I've been buying some fragrance oils for a while already, but these have been already made fragrance oils with different scents, that I'd settle for, if it was close enough to my liking. However, now that I've found out that Phoebe Peacock/KleanSpa can customize my fragrance, I'm a sold and happy customer! I called and spoke with Caitlin on a Saturday morning, and she told me to come on in and they'll be happy to help me come up with a fragrance that I like. So, I brought the current fragrance oil that I was wearing and wanted to know if they can make something similar. When I entered this place, you can smell a natural and pleasant aroma...nothing synthetic in the air. At the work table, was another customer watching as Caitlin was working her scientific magic with numerous oils to perfect the scent that the customer wanted. That customer turned to me and introduced herself with such joy. Apparently, she was in awe with the scent that Caitlin put together for her, as she described how much she loves her personal fragrance. Caitlin then asked me if I was the one that called earlier, and she politely introduced herself, as well. It felt like we were in a science class, given all the beakers and bottles spread across the table. That customer was overjoyed with the finished product and she had every reason to, as she let me smell her signature scent, and it was a pleasant scent. Then, Caitlin was ready to help me with my request. She smelled the fragrance oil that I brought in and, instantly, described all the notes she smelled and, she was absolutely correct. After a few oil concoctions, she made the perfect fragrance for me. I brought along a friend, and my friend was thoroughly impressed, as well. She was able to narrow down a blend of two scents for me, and two scents cost $28, filled in a roll-on bottle. You're given other options as to how you want your fragrance packaged, or bottled, and prices will vary. If that sounds costly, rethink it, because it's not, in my opinion, as it's custom-made, and will last you for a long time since much isn't needed to apply to your skin...not to mention the smell lasts much longer than those fragrances in department stores...given that these are oil based. Not only do they make custom-made fragrances for you in the store, but you can have them come to you for a party to create scents for you and your guests. This place is amazing! Overall, every customer that came in the store that day was very impressed, myself included. Caitlin was pleasant over the phone, and was nice and pleasant in-person, as she worked her magic and was personable, yet professional, the entire time, as she wants to ensure the customer is satisfied. In addition to custom-made fragrances, they have an array of their already made fragrances, candles, and other products in the store. When I told Caitlin that I found out about their business on Yelp, she immediately told me that I'll get the Yelp discount, which saved me a few dollars. I'm so happy with my new fragrance, and knowing that I supported a locally-owned business, that cares for and appreciates their customers. Lastly, be aware of parking in the area, as I received a parking ticket for parking on a residential street because it's permit-only. No worries, as that parking ticket won't discourage me from returning to Phoebe Peacock/KleanSpa. I'm looking forward to returning for more fun in creating more signature scents! read more

I would give 5 stars for the shop. The scents, the scent bar, the vintage items and the entire super cool vibe of the store, it's truly a gem. But... this review is about customer service. One of the girls working there had an attitude that was off-putting. She was confused about an order that she was creating in the back. When I placed an order with the girl helping us, the girl in back thought I had changed my mind about the size when in fact she was finishing up my friends order. Her comment was "Oh NOW you want the larger size!? OK then I will just POUR OUT this one in another bottle." (in an annoyed tone) I had to tell her "No, wait don't do that, that's another order, that stays the same." All of this being said while she was in the back, never bothered to come out to discuss her confusion. We were the only ones in the store and we were not ordering all at once. Her tone and negative attitude was unnecessary. After paying for my order and lifting the shopping bag from the counter I heard glass clinking in the bag as we walked out the door, there was no tissue or wrapping of any kind around either of the 2 large glass bottles in my bag. I've shopped here before and remember nicer wrapping. I added a 2nd star because the other sales girl who helped us was very nice and helpful. It only takes 1 bad attitude to make a shopping experience unpleasant. Such a bummer. read more

I can't say enough how great the experience and service here is. I received a custom scent experience for my birthday, and couldn't have been more excited (albeit a bit skeptical). The shop (also called KleanSpa, I think) is intimate and clean. Unfortunately I don't remember the name of the woman that guided me through the fragrance making - she was an apprentice? - but we had a great conversation, and she really helped me work through all of the options to land on a final fragrance that is better than I could have hoped for. The best part in this is that my fragrance originally came in a rollerball which disagreed with my skin. I emailed the shop to see if I could make a spray bottle instead and, long story short, not even 24 hours later I just opened my mail to find my exact formula in a spray bottle, along with a lotion sample. I was an excited skeptic walking in to my first appointment, but I can honestly say I am an absolute fan and will happily be referring anyone with ears to listen. read more

So there I was walking down the street.. minding my own business.. when I begin to become aware of a Devine scent wafting into my nostrils!! I had been so looking forward to visiting Phoebe Peacock and what a visit I had yesterday! I felt like a kid in a candy store - so many beautiful fragrances, spa products and very unique treasures from all over the world. Jennifer, Scentual Mixtress extraordinaire, and owner, is an amazing woman. She has created a sanctuary for all of us who love scents. I could have stayed for hours, but alas I still had a few more errands. I ended up buying some fabulous perfume oils (in those fabulous rollerballs, so easy to travel with), a ginger frag for my sister and Gypsy Rose for me, a large woven to die-for Morrocan multi-purpose tote, a manly scent scrub (to introduce my husband to), a nose pencil sharpener (yay) and those cards from MinaLee (way too funny).
