This popped up on my yelp hot and new business. It's a narrow place with options for seating at the bar which will get you seated quicker if you have a small party. We both got the bad ass bacon and egg platter that was served with a great roasted salsa, hash brown casserole, toast and thick slab bacon. Tasted great and cleaned my plate. Nice friendly staff. Came here and it was extremely busy. Perplexed me because this place didn't seem that trendy that Austinites flocked to, but decided to eat outside for a faster table despite the cold. Let me tell you, it was worth it! The BBQ Benny dish (might be a wrong name) was amazing. The brisket was delicious and the egg busted open like yolkography tags on Instagram. You can tell they perfected the recipe because usually Benedicts lack when it comes to the English muffin, but this one was fluffy and easily curable. No hassle here! The chunky monkey appetizer is a deep fried egg with gravy and it was a monster of a starter. Didn't think an egg can fry that large, but the yolk was also perfect. It's a little meat heavy so the taste would be better with something to cut that. The bacon is a brisket-type bacon, so you don't feel like you're getting ripped off. But nevertheless, the price point is very good for what you get. The deep fried French toast is huge and I can't say good enough things about this random spot I came to. read more

Phoebe's was pretty underwhelming considering the strong reviews on Yelp. The cornbread muffins were not at all cornbread. They were more of a cinnamon muffin. Still not good and slightly burnt. Fried French toast was pretty good. Nothing too special considering anything fried is pretty decent. Chicken sandwich was really bad. The chicken pulled with every bite (stringy) and was near black. Clearly super low quality chicken. Tater tots with them were generic. Girlfriend's Benedict was nothing to write home about. Bacon was only good part. She said it was ok as long as she ate it fast so she didn't taste how unfresh it was. Plus, the odd cocktail menu. Drinks were cheap, but sake Bloody Mary and a sake mule? Hmmm read more

We really enjoy Pheobe's. We typically go before 10 and we haven't Had to wait. When we leave there is typically a wait so try to go early if you don't like waiting Biscuits and gravy are amazing. My husband really like his eggs Benedict. I always like when hollandaise has some lemon coming through and there was a good balance here. We ordered pancake for the baby and it was nice and fluffy. We haven't been for dinner but will definitely try sometime! read more

Found this place on Yelp of course. Looking for a tasty bite for brunch. Had the Badass Bacon and eggs and the chicken sandwich. The bacon was a huge piece of bacon that was crisp and very tasty. This food is so good. Seriously. Before the pandemic, my husband and I would come here often and we were so relieved to return. I've only ever had the fried chicken biscuit because it was love at first bite. My one year old son growls while he's eating. My husband doesn't like repeating restaurants too often but he is always down to go to Phoebe's. It's so good. The people here are great. We love it here. read more

We've eaten at Phoebe's quite a few times, since it's about 5 min from our house, and LOVE it! Everything about this place is awesome, down to the art work for sale on the walls, and the Anthony Bourdain quote reminding us all that the "nicest thing you can do for a person is make them breakfast". Pro tip: Get there early (I'm talking by 9am, at the latest) or use the waitlist feature on Yelp to add yourself to the waitlist, or you will be hanging out waiting for a table for a while. Order: The Phoebe's benny, deep fried French toast, biscuits & gravy (love the red eye or the sage gravy, haven't tried the tomato gravy yet), coffee smoked brisket burrito, or the fried chicken and grits are all SOLID. Oh, also the house salad with fried chicken is great- all their dressings are homemade, and I love that this one has corn, beets and avocado! Honestly, never had anything bad on the menu, so order away and know it will be tasty. To drink, their fresh juices are delicious and any can be made into a mimosa (my fave is beet orange or strawberry lemonade) by the glass or carafe. I also like their Sake Bloody- that pickled chile juice is the best part! Overall, Phoebe's is a great place for breakfast, and it's worth the wait even if you get there after 9am ;) read more

This is an update, I have been here 7 - 10x and for the most part the meals are consistent, service fluctuates welcome to Austin! This rating is about the ubiquitous lack of Wifi! Why did it take me 2 months to notice you might ponder, well previously I had only visited on the w/e and never noticed. I absolutely adore this place. Great restaurant with phenomenal brunch food! I mainly order things to go with how small the diner is but I've tried the brisket burrito, south first tots, and crispy brussel sprouts and none of them disappoint. The burrito is huge and so satisfying, the brisket is tasty and paired with the egg, cheese, and salsa is divine! Closest thing to a Southern California burrito that I can find out here in Austin! The south first tots are crazy flavorful and even though they're listed as an appetizer, are big enough in portion to be a meal for one. The brussel sprouts are covered in this delicious roasted garlic aioli and cotija cheese mixture that makes it extremely flavorful. Highly recommend Phoebe's Diner for brunch! read more

Went there yesterday for brunch. We were able to seat ourselves. Service was not spectacular. We ordered the eggs Benedict and shrimp grits. It was disappointing. The ham on the eggs Benedict was tough. The hollandaise sauce was so little, I couldn't even taste it once I mixed it with the bread and ham. The hash casserole was a little different than I expected. It tasted tangy. Not at all what I thought it would be. The shrimp grits was flavorful, so creamy but only had 3 shrimps on it. Overall, I left still hungry and really was disappointed since I read some good reviews about this place. They have awesome coffee though! The coffee was 5 star. read more

This hidden gem is nestled between a gas station and a mobile store. When we arrived there was a long line. We waited an hour to be seated. It was well worth the wait. I had the BTS Omelette which was cooked perfectly. The omelette was loaded with thick cut bacon, spinach and tomato. Yum! I got a chance to taste the shrimp and grits. That was awesome! Packed with flavor and very savory. If you're in the area this is a must for breakfast. The staff are super friendly and attentive. read more

The food was great here, flavors were different but good, but I'm getting it for 4 stars because it's misleading. Maybe it's an Austin thing, but when I go to a "diner", I expect home style breakfast food, not breakfast fusion. It was good what I had, it's just not what I wanted at that point. (Review for Feb 2018-Dec 2020) I lived on the same block so needless to say I was a regular. THE STAFF HERE WORK HARD! It's always so freakin busy no matter the day or time. It's for a reason people! You can't go wrong trying this place out. They have great breakfast variety nestled in a fun traditional diner aesthetic. The bacon was insane and the biscuits are an essential. My only tick is that (after being a NYer for many years) diner to me means open 24/7. Phoebe's is a MUST but I will say they only have "breakfast/brunch" hours. There is a new spot in the 78704 right at the busy corner of South 1st @ Oltorf. Phoebe's Diner recently opened in Sept 2017 and now is serving breakfast and lunch till 3pm. The location of this place is in the heart of 78704, so for the people that live in this extremely high rent area of ATX, it is in walking distance for many. I will say, it seems already inherited into the community. Phoebe's Diner enters into the very competitive Austin breakfast market. Many people know that for Saturday & Sunday mornings, breakfast is highly sought out for in this city. If somewhere in Austin has good breakfast, the place is usually packed and you will have a wait. It is a hot breakfast market if your restaurant follows the popular formula. First off the location of Phoebe's diner is in a small strip mall near a Texaco gas station. There are parking spots but not many, so hopefully you can get one. The venue itself isn't very large. It is a long and narrow rectangle style restaurant. Rent in Austin is quite disgusting and I can imagine for a restaurant the same rule applies. Phoebe's Diner is certainly using every single bit of square footage they have available. Right when you walk in, there are tables on each side. There is a small booth to put yourself on the list. The only waiting area is outside so if it is a cold day in Austin, you better be ok waiting outdoors. The venue has roughly about 18 different booths/tables. If you are larger than a party of 4, your table options are limited, so put that into account. There is about 8 stools available to eat at the counter. Waiter service was attentive, friendly and informative. Now onto the stuff that actually matters is the food. I posted a few photos of the 1 page menu. It certainly follow the style of a diner menu. You have mostly breakfast options with a few lunch choices. You have typical American style breakfast, migas, Phoebe's benedict, breakfast burrito, pancakes, french toast, biscuits & gravy, and even the option to get 9+ hour smoked brisket. I asked the waiter, said the head chef was big on brisket, so he has his own personal smoker behind the store. I ordered Phoebe's breakfast and swapped out ham for bacon. I was encouraged to stick with ham, but that's just not my style. Eggs were quite well cooked and fluffy. Holandise sauce was very light. Bacon is actually pork belly as other described. It is certainly a thick cut of bacon. I did not like the hashbrown casserole at all! Onions didn't go well with it, and just not the perfect mix to the breakfast items. I did not try any pancakes, but certainly looks like you can customize them how you want. This place makes excellent thick fluffy biscuits. It went well on this item. Menu has all sorts of drinks such as coffee, cappuccinos, espresso, teas, juices, beer/wine, mimosa and so forth. Also what would a diner be without the pie of the day. The menu prices are fair for the quality of food and service. This place is already known by locals in the near by areas, so expect a wait if you come during peak hours. I had different opinions on visiting Phoebe's diner. First I always enjoy to see any new spot come into the very crowded and busy Austin breakfast spots. Secondly, I think the minimal square footage of the restaurant is a minor inconvenience. I would see waiters constantly have to navigate around each other because there is simply very little walking space. Place is certainly noisy, but if it is a diner, shouldn't that be already assumed? It is also hard to fully judge a place on just ordering one item from the menu. I try to base more my ratings on food quality than the locations, service, or decor. However they still factor into the overall Yelp score. I have gotten to experience a lot of different Austin breakfast spots. The low key mexican restaurants, the long time breakfast places, and then the fancy downtown breakfast for the people that live in downtown and dont mind shelling out $20-30 on FREAKING brunch. To each their own, everyone has different tastes. So where does Phoebe's Diner fall into all of this? My review is 4/5. Good food, creative menu, small sized venue, and attentive staff. There was just a lot more I was expecting out of this place and only some of it delivered. Don't worry, this place looks like it will always be busy and packed. Phoebe's diner is a good new breakfast addition to south ATX, but I'm not sure it belongs on a top 5 breakfast spot list. read more

Ordered the smoked beet hash with no cheese this is incredible. The sweet potatoes were cooked to perfection it's an excellent light lunch and the guacamole on the top really add to the richness and creaminess highly recommend if you're vegan/vegetarian Also recommend their cornbread with their whipped butter and their apple butter it's definitely house made or craft. read more

Really liked this place when we visited Austin so much that we ate here twice in our short trip. The servings are huge! But the quality of the food is amazing too. I ordered the carrot cake French toast which was so decadent, I couldn't finish it. My boyfriend got the ''04 platter which was absolutely delicious. We loved the local hot sauce brand they served there too, and I buy them on amazon now. The pickled food with the meat was really quite good, I would definitely recommend it. We also shared an appetizer of cornbread muffins which came up with spicy types of jam, so interesting and tasty. The flavor pairings here are top notch. The service and atmosphere did great too - this place can also get packed pretty quickly. We both loved this place and I think it's a must go if you are visiting Austin and love breakfast food with a passion like I do. read more

I'm afraid to say that I found the food here pretty meh. I tried four different dishes, and most everything seemed flavorless to me. Neat spot for brunch. A few Co workers and myself strolled in looking for a quick bite and this restaurant satisfied our needs, the menu is short and sweet not to many options so it's not overwhelming. So we thought we would make a whole night of it. Tiffany did make reservations for us for 7pm and even though this is a bar hopping neighborhood, even at 7pm it was pretty busy. Streets were full of people. Anthem had a vibe. I felt the energy as soon as I waked in. The cozy booths with the U shaped seating with plush green velvet fabric. Wait staff wore Hawaiian shirts. Sitting up behind me on a ledge was the Easter Island statue. Insert (Night At The Museum) here, dumb dumb give me gum gum. Anthem was our first stop tonight. Just drinks and a dinner. I ordered the Peach Fuzzy drink. Not too sweet, refreshing, peachy, and beautiful garnish of a flower. I ordered the Yummy Fries which looked like a salad. Gorgeous presentation. Fries were actually waffle sweet potatoes. Pickled ginger, sesame seeds, furikake, aïoli and a few other wonderful ingredients. Could not get over how beautiful everything looked. Presentation outstanding. Service delightful. Had a wonderful time at Anthem. We both did use the ladies rooms before leaving. Inside the bathroom there is a sign about safety and if you need assistants. I did take a picture of it. On our way out, Brian the manager, said good night to us and waved. We later saw Brian at another place. And I'll write about that in my review for that place as well. Brian, you're Doll, thank you for your hospitality.

Food: The lamb chops and Branzino were absolutely delicious, my aloe cocktail was just ok but the old fashion was probably the best I have had. Highly recommend it. The staff was also super nice and very hard working as they tried to te arrange umbrellas for possible rain. Beautiful decor and ambiance.

We made the decision to leave before a full meal because the menu wasn't as vegetarian and gluten free friendly as we'd thought it might be. Danny was our waiter and he was very understanding! He gave us several great drink recommendations. We all very much enjoyed our cocktails and mocktail with a side appetizer of squash. We appreciated the discount on valet parking if you eat at Nido and get your ticket validated. I'm sure I'll be back here on a sunny day and book far enough in advance to sit outside.

On top of that, having to pay $15 for valet added even more to an already expensive evening. Overall, Nido is worth visiting once for the views and a cocktail, but I personally wouldn't return for dinner. There are plenty of other spots in Austin that offer much better value for the price.

If you run a restaurant that is so "popular" you need language training. Thankful we didn't give them our business. They certainly do not deserve us. This is a racist establishment.

Our table ordered some martinis, the Japanese milk buns, burger and fries, apple Asian salad, as well as the zucchini dish. I would skip the caesar salad, nothing to write home about. I would definitely recommend the zucchini dish, it was perfectly fried and the accompaniments were delicious. The Asian salad was great for a hot day. Of course I've seen the pictures of the grand atrium room with skylights, so it was cool to see it in person. There are many different areas to Eberly, and I must return to fully experience them all. I saw a side patio area, I have heard there's a rooftop, and I know the Cedar Tavern bar was transported from New York City. To top it off, valet is free!

While we didn't indulge in the beverages, we enjoyed the $10 burger special which also came with fries! We paired this with a side of a $6 Caesar Salad (really tasty and thrown together with thinly sliced cabbage, roasted chickpeas, and popcorn chicken). Next time, I'd really love to try the truffle mac and cheese (which was also on HH). We weren't aware of the upcharge for swapping out the slice of American for Cheddar (+$1.50), which would've been nice to know ahead of time, since we both got burgers and wondered about the swap...but lesson learned. Also, BIG lesson learned...the parking validation is for only two hours! We were having such a lovely time at Dish Society, but exceeded the 2 hrs (by an extra hour) and got charged a significant amount for parking. Next time, we will certainly park on the street. We tried reasoning with the parking attendant and they wanted no business in understanding we were patrons of the restaurant. It was certainly an unexpected shock, and didn't leave the best final touch of our evening (specifically in that parking garage).
