Very nice airport. I didn't realize they had so much going on here. Hot air balloon area for events, flight training commercial and private use. My nephews are going to be pilots. One went through a JR ROTC program. The younger is doing CAPS Aeroguard program. Both will be involved in the airforce as well as commercial and or private flights. They are creating drone programs as well. Some of the programs are held here at the airport. These programs help rank them up, benefit opportunities to earn scholarships that pay for school and then they can work on free flight hours. Fuel is expensive enough. I never knew so much is going on here. We took a few flights from here to northern Arizona just over 19 years ago. I remember living north here when we bought our first new home. It was dreamy waking up many mornings to hot air balloons in the sky outside. It was very quiet after 9-11 when there were no flights for awhile. We actually missed the traffic.

This is a great place to go if you are an aviation fan. There are old military fighter jets, new Leer style jets, helicopters and much more. If you go through the main terminal, you can proceed outside to the upstairs observation deck to watch the flights come in. It is really cool because they have it set up with speakers and you can hear all of the chatter between the pilots and the tower. Right below the Observation Deck is the Airport Restaurant that offers a wide array of American cuisine that you could purchase and take out with you to watch the planes. The restaurant is also filled with 100's of model airplanes that hang from the ceiling. I could spend the entire day just looking at those. This Airport is open to the public, so don't feel out of place. The planes approach from the east mainly and descend from the skies to eclipse the foothills of Deer Valley. It is a great time to experience something different with your family. Or, take out that special someone to watch an incredible Arizona Sunset. Plus it's FREE. #vino2 #vinosquared #vino2ultimate

Great little airport. It has a nice restaurant inside with neat model airplanes hanging from the ceiling. Nice little lobby too.

Selection isn't to bad parking can be horrific 7-10 especially over near macys, dicks, or the bowling alley area, and of course the top hill where the food court is. I see a lot of people going to try things on and ordering it online before the sales rep even gets back with the other shoe in some stores. Cause it's cheaper on the same stores website but you guessed it in store won't match online prices. Also the crypto atm needs more security or a more secure area where someone can help the elderly who are being scammed out of there money daily. You'd be surprised I walked the mall and seen and told 3 elderly people who were all on the phone with someone make sure you know who you are sending it to the irs doesn't take crypto.

Desert Ridge Marketplace in Phoenix, Arizona has such a bright and energetic atmosphere that I…read morereally enjoyed when I visited with someone. I noticed a lot of teenagers walking around, and the whole place feels lively in a way that teenagers would love. The outdoor areas, the open walkways, and the spots to sit or take pictures don't cost anything at all, which makes it easy to have fun there without needing a plan. I didn't realize how much there was to enjoy until I walked around and saw how welcoming and upbeat the whole marketplace feels. It surprised me how comfortable it was to just be there without feeling rushed or overwhelmed by the crowds. Even though it's a shopping and entertainment center, it gives teenagers a great place to hang out, take photos, listen to music, or just be creative while exploring the different areas. I only visited Desert Ridge Marketplace one time in my life before making this review, but it ended up being one of the most enjoyable and youthful places I've been to in a long time. I never doubted that the experience would turn out the way I hoped it would. I've lived for 24 years, but in the summer of 2024 I learned that I'm still physically and mentally 18 years old, and that my prefrontal cortex is more developed than the average 25‑year‑old's. Maybe that's why I connect so much with places that feel playful, social, and full of energy. I would highly recommend that teenagers go to this marketplace because it gives them a fun, open space to enjoy themselves, walk around, and feel creative. I loved the decision that was made with the variety of store they have there. I also loved the service there.

I occasionally go with my wife, a family member, or a friend (or some combination). I sometimes go on my own. Earlier this week, I met a friend for lunch at a restaurant in The District and then walked around and went into a few stores. There's something for everyone and plenty to see and do. The Desert Ridge Marketplace is known for some great restaurants. While they have less in terms of fine dining, there are many great casual or upscale casual restaurants, national chains, and local chains. There are also some good fast casual restaurants to go. Some of my favorites include Islands, Tikka Shack, The Keg, Cafe Zupas, Fly Bye, and Flower Child. You can then grab some treats to go at ITSUGAR or Cold Stone Creamery. There are also plenty of shops from casual ones to nicer casual. You'll need to head to nearby Scottsdale Quarter or Kierland for the upscale shops. My wife and I frequent Barnes & Nobles, Bath & Body Works, Five Below, Kohls, Target, and DSW the most. Find happy hours and other specials for restaurants and stores at https://shopdesertridge.com/directory/sales-promotions. Entertainment options at the Desert Ridge Marketplace include the AMC movie theatre, As You Wish pottery painting, games and music at the Backyard and Copper Blues, games at Dave & Buster's, and comedy at the Desert Ridge Improv. There are also a bunch of specialty and fitness stores. You can also find events at https://shopdesertridge.com/event including Trivia Tuesday and music at Backyard, Christmas Angel Tree, and 12 Days of Snowfall just to name a few. The Desert Ridge Marketplace has a children's play area, corn hole (two sets!), EV charging stations, a fireplace, LED screens, live music (often on Friday and Saturday nights), a splash pad, wifi, and sip & strolls. The area is also dog-friendly with plenty of places to walk your furry friends. The hours at stores and restaurants differ greatly, and there is no widely advertised set of hours for the area. There is plenty of free parking around Desert Ridge. You can read more about the Kierland Commons at https://shopdesertridge.com including a place you can sign up to be on their mailing list and get offers and opportunities to sign up for giveaways. There is also a mall map on there along with a listing of activities and experiences with events.

I also sometimes meet up with friends or family or even head there on my own. There's something for everyone and plenty to see and do; however, some of my favorite stores and restaurants have closed and been replaced over the years. It also happens to be where my wife and I had our first date! The Biltmore Fashion Park is known for some great restaurants. While there are some upscale and casual restaurants there, my favorites include Seasons 52 or True Food for a good meal and Frost a Gelato Shoppe for dessert. I really enjoy having several Fox restaurants at the Biltmore. There are also many other restaurants in the area. Several of the restaurants have great happy hours, too. I miss the Crepe Club though several other restaurants have opened since then. There are also plenty of shops from upscale shops to more casual ones like Lululemon and Sakes 5th Avenue. There are fancy clothing stores that my wife may enjoy though I typically enjoy the nice courtyard or seating outside some of the stores while she shops. Then, we grab a bite somewhere together. I miss the Apple Store and Sharper Image but look forward to what is opened next. There are also experiences from the Sip & Stroll (where you can enjoy a beverage from one of six restaurants and then walk around), meet-up with the Phoenix Run Club, the Art Walk, the Swiftie Liftie Outdoor Workout Class, or one of a number of galas or special events. Find more details on what is coming up at the Biltmore Fashion Park at https://www.reddevelopment.com/biltmore-fashion-park/events.
