I had a slow puncture. It was not very slow really....the tyre was pretty much losing half its pressure in a day although of course I had been looking at it for weeks wondering if it maybe looked a little bit flat. Doh! Anyway, following discussion with a taxi driver (well, they know about driving cars), I pottered along to Phoenix Tyres in the hopes of getting it fixed. It had occurred to me that the treads seemed a bit low but was hoping they weren't too bad. Pitched up and was greeted straight away. There was no wait and one of the guys came and took off the wheel. It was not a pretty sight. I think the guards would have slapped me quite hard if they'd seen the state of it. The baldness may also have explained my interesting wheel spins... A new tyre was definitely required. I have a bit of a fear of being ripped off as a single female but the guys here were great. They listed my options in both brand and price and advantages of one brand over another. When I mentioned that an uncle works in a tyre place at home they suggested Bridgestone because he could easily get me a matching one for the other side if I didn't want to buy it from them. It was fitted in no time. Price? Not quite as cheap as Scully Autocare but reasonable. They have a website at www.alloys.ie and seem to be the people to go to if you drive like me and tend to be attacked by kerbs. Got a warning light on my car to tell me I had a flat. I have runflats so they're mega expensive to replace and driving on them for any distance can kill the sidewalls. Dropped it off asap at Phoenix, nice and friendly and then went on my way by taxi. Dropped back after lunch to be met with the good news that all tyres were fine and the problem was a slight difference in pressure between the two sides. I asked to pay them something for their time but they point blank refused - got to be unusual in these days and times. Anyway, you can guess where I'll be headed when next I need a new tyre or a repair. read more

I had a blowout a few months ago and I had to get a new tyre immediately. Phoenix Tyres had been recommended to me by my brother but as I rolled up on my spare tyre I noticed that It was closed and on closer inspection found out it closed half day on Saturdays. I was on my way to Omni, Santry that day anyways so I ended up having to purchase the first tyre I priced at a cost of 140e. Due to have an upcoming NCT I was not going to pay a further 140e per tyre so I purchased 4 online at 140e for the lot. I had them delivered and brought them to Phoenix tyres myself. They had never seen me or met me before but I was treated like a regular. "I have 4 tyres in my car and I need them fitted and Balanced". Without hesitation the friendly guy (i think he was the owner) said no problem 15 euro a tyre fitted and that included discarding of the old tyres and taking the recently purchased fitted tyre off too as my spare. Further to this i had lost my locking nut for my alloys and I wanted new wheel nuts fitted (which I had also purchased online) This was not a problem either. I sat in the waiting area while the job was done on the spot and admired the tyre photos the had on display showing tyre stores from someones world travels........really cool photos they where too...... check them out. All in All Phoenix Tyres is an excellent company with friendly experienced staff and I will definitely be returning here if I have the need for tyre service, wheel alignment, balancing, or even alloys, and car batteries. I also purchased a new pair of wiper blades which where fitted in a jiffy. The prices of their tyres can probably be beaten online which is why they haven't got 5 stars overall. But defo 5 stars for service. read more

i have been going to Phoenix Tyres for over ten years at this stage. To be honest I was getting sick of going to larger tyre fitting chains to have really bad work done by guys that did not know what they are at. I am kind of fussy about my Car/Tyres/Balancing/Alignment. Phoenix is by far the best place I have ever used. The car always feels right first time when I drive away. Roger and Conor are always v friendly and their team really know what they are at. I recently had a double blow out due to a pot-hole (with a great amount of luck (if you can say that in this context)) just around the corner from Phoenix. I had a meeting to go to and was under pressure to get there. Within 25 min they Guys had me back on the road with some 2nd hand tyres that got me through until the new ones were in. I don't really look forward to buying new tyres but I always know that I will get a good deal and really high quality work done when i go to Phoenix Tyres.
