We contacted them with only 4 weeks prior to our event because it was a wedding on a whim. We went with this company because they are a professional, established business. I like that they have a warehouse you can go to and check stuff out to get an idea of what you are getting. I contacted many other places who either had no availability, didn't have what we needed or had no physical building to meet and look at what you were renting. The delivery guys were great to work with and put everything up in a few hours. I would use this company again if I had a large event.

While we got one through ShutterBooth that was somewhat nonexistent, our guests were able to think for themselves and enjoy the photobooth! Our booking was relatively simple. They had availability for our wedding day (the initial one and the our re-planned one), and the explanation of what we initially wanted was pretty easy to understand. The options didn't change, other than the destination of where they'd set up and on what day, but the uniqueness and customization was known within the final couple weeks. During the final couple weeks, we received a couple calls to confirm the itinerary, our booth look and feel, album, photo print layout, and other logistics of the day. All seemed very detailed and professional. Pros: The boot looked pretty typical but not flashy, hidden towards the side of our venue. We had the standard black drapes and items to put on or use in the photos. It was big enough for 5 people comfortably, but some photos we squeeze a few more people in as we all started drinking more. All of our photos came out great for our guests and for our album, where many chose to write messages to us in the photo album. We also received a digital copy of all of our stuff. Cons: Our "host" wasn't very interactive. Luckily our guests knew it was there and were pretty rowdy to be able to help themselves, or else nobody probably would have used it. I remember arriving to the photobooth with my wife to do a photo sessions and all of the props were still packed up in the box. We did end up with a lot of photos that people did, so clearly the "host" didn't deem whether the photobooth would be successful or not.

Our contacts pre-wedding were great and I think we ended up getting a number of great shots from the booth throughout our reception. The 4-star just has to come from the professional side of the booth set-up. The staff person on-site was remarked on by a few guests as a bit less than pleasant. Perhaps slightly annoyed at times for printing multiple copies of the picture strips. There was also zero orientation for guests to the booth itself, leading to a failure rate of ~20-25% of our photos. By this I mean, they never told guests that there were 4 photos per session or that they came every 3 seconds (very fast if costume-changing), leading to folks scrambling and missing at least one of the 4 photos in nearly every single set. Personally, I as the groom approached her at the end of the night (to her credit, 1 minute after closing) and asked for one last quick photo. She promptly denied, stated it was past closing, and proceeded to take down the background in front of me. It absolutely was past closing, but everyone around remarked on how rude the reply was - and how would any of the guests know when closing was for this vendor. Felt like the staff could have handled the event with more professionalism and it would have resulted in a better product overall. That said, we loved many of the photos and I know guests enjoyed the experience.

Overall, we had a good experience with the Kruu Photobooth for our wedding earlier this month…read more First, the positives. It was affordable, easy to set up, and use. We opted for the high-end package, and the included camera, printer, and system was easy to navigate and use. It was delivered on time, with plenty of supplies and included the return label, with clear instructions on usage. The initial email did provide incorrect information on return (they had dated it to be returned to UPS by "midnight" on the day of our event, which obviously is impossible, but a quick message clarified that they wanted it to be shipped out by noon the following day). We were about an hour late in getting the device to UPS (~1 pm, rather than noon), but Kruu did not make a fuss about it and the return went smoothly. We also received our (digital) photos in a very timely manner, which was great. Having said that, there were a few downsides, however. First, the printer is/was quite slow, and took quite a bit of patience on the part of the attendees/users, which forced them to wait around the booth for a bit, being unable to be a part of the party. I will admit that this is a very minor nitpick, as it took less than 2 minutes per print, so it was fairly reasonable. Additionally, though my then-fiancee, now-wife spent a lot of time to set up the templates (we get two, which was great) for the photo backdrops, one of them was not aligned as we had designed/set them up online, leaving a small strip that was not cut properly on all of the photos for one of the templates. Again, not the end of the world. The other, more problematic issue, is that the lighting of the camera is not automatic, and while I am fairly technologically savvy and knew that there is a way to change/decrease the flash intensity, many of the attendees did not. As a result, many of the photos taken during the evening in the fairly dim reception space are extremely overexposed, making it almost impossible to recognize the people in the photos. Again, I think people had fun for the most part, and it was an affordable option. However, it is sad/disappointing that we did not end up with great photos of our attendees that we can keep. Regardless, I would definitely recommend Kruu as an affordable photobooth option. Just be sure to keep in mind the potential pitfalls, and make plans accordingly (assign/hire an attendant who might be able to help and adjust settings as required).

I hired them to provide a photo booth for my reception--a service that included the ability to print guest photos on-site. Despite multiple guests and venue staff attempting to set it up, the booth never functioned the entire evening. Not a single photo was printed. After the event, I reached out to Kruu hoping for an apology or a resolution. Instead, I was met with rude, dismissive responses and blamed for supposedly not configuring a photo frame correctly--something that should have been identified by their team before shipping to me as quality control. As a customer, I should not be expected to troubleshoot their product during my own wedding. What hurts most is that I will never get those photos back--photos of guests who traveled to celebrate with us, candid moments we hoped to treasure forever. Kruu failed to provide the service I paid for and has since refused to offer a full refund or take accountability. I strongly advise others to avoid Kruu for any milestone event. When you only have one chance to capture memories, reliability and professionalism matter. Sadly, Kruu delivered neither. Brides, grooms, planners--please learn from my mistake and avoid Kruu at all costs. You only get one wedding. Don't let them screw up yours like they did mine.
