Brea is an amazing photographer who I have watched travel and see amazing things through her camera. She has an incredible eye and perspective. Her ability to capture the pivotal moment when an emotion explodes in a photo is something I absolutely love love love about her photographs. You're going to be choosing a lot of things for your wedding day. I feel like my wife and I heard at least half a dozen times during the planning process that we wouldn't remember the food all that much and that we wouldn't remember what the music was like (aside from the first dance, duh) but that your photographer is one of, if not the most, important vendors you will decide upon. And from the beginning, Brea has made it very clear to us that we made the perfect choice in having her photograph our wedding. Brea and her assistant Tommy are both exceptionally talented photographers. They are both great at capturing things "in the moment" as well as your standard wedding photos. Brea and Tommy are both incredibly easy to work with, and easily went from being able to blend into the background to capture all the small moments surrounding our wedding to being friendly and causal while my wife and I moved around with them to take our pictures. It really helped put the two of us at ease taking relaxed and "us" pictures. I wouldn't hesitate to recomend Brea to anyone. From our engagement to our wedding day and beyond, Breanna stood by with support and encouragement and a positive attitude to get us through the whole thing. My husband and I absolutely loved working with Breanna Shaw (Photography by Brea)!! We met with many photographers before deciding on Brea, and we are so happy we hired her! We could tell from Brea's professionalism, enthusiasm and energy that she would be a perfect fit to photograph our big day. Brea also did our engagement photos, and she was willing to come up to where we lived at the time (New York City) to take pictures of us at some of our favorite spots in the city. We are forever grateful for these photos from this special time in our lives. Brea did a WONDERFUL job capturing our wedding day, from getting ready, to first look, ceremony, family portraits, and the reception/party. She managed to capture detail shots of all the extra decorations (i.e. signs, picture frames, guest book, cake, flowers, escort table, table numbers, etc. that my mom and I worked so hard on--my mom was so happy with these photos too!!), the scenery at the venue, and most of all, all of our wonderful family and friends who shared the day with us. We love all the goofy candids and different angles she used to get such a variety of photos throughout the day. Brea's assistant Jeana was so great too; she was able to organize everyone and made sure our family photos ran smoothly. She even helped me carry my train multiple times to keep it from dragging in the grass and mud! Both Brea and Jeana really made us feel comfortable, and they worked so well together! I worked with Brea for my engagement and wedding photos and I could not have been more pleased! She was so easy to work with and even helped me to come up with a schedule for my wedding day. Brea was very quick and organized in getting the pictures of family and the bridal party so that we could spend as much time as possible at the reception. My now wife and I had the pleasure of working with Brea for both our engagement photos and wedding photos. She was exceptionally professional and is amazing at what she does. For our engagement photos, she was willing to brave the early morning hours in freezing temperatures to help capture some of the most beautiful shots I've seen. She did a great job at helping us set up locations/poses that captured our personalities. For our wedding, she (and her assistant) traveled to my wife's parents' house to capture the "getting ready" phase, then to the chapel for our ceremony, and to our reception at a third location. Even though we were tired/exhausted/overwhelmed all day, she was marvelous at guiding us and directing us when it came to taking formal photos (down to the very timing of this before and during the reception), and captured all elements of the ceremony and reception to really tell the story of how the day played out. I have received countless comments from friends/families who have viewed our wedding photo proofs and are just blown away by the quality. I'm certainly no expert in photography, but the combination of lighting, timing, and probably a million other nuances that are foreign to me was executed perfectly and really shows in the pictures. My wife laughs at how "obsessed" I am with looking at our wedding pictures, but they really do capture what a wonderful day we had, and serve as a prime example of how a skillfull photographer can truly "make" the entire experience. read more

Brea is the best. hands down. We had Brea take photos for our engagement session (http://www.bybrea.com/blog/2012/06/jackie-and-andrew-engaged/) and knew immediately she had to come to our destination wedding in Mexico. She took the time to learn all the names of our family members to request people by name for the photos as opposed to the generic bride and family here please. That may not sound like much but with two sets of divorced parents it's an accomplishment and it made everyone feel incredibly welcome.
