My husband and I hired Cambrae to take our wedding pictures for our wedding on June 8, 2024 at the Columbia Gorge hotel. Trust me when I say there is not enough room in this review to say all the things she did that made not only our wedding day go perfectly but she absolutely MADE our wedding day. During our initial consult, she listened carefully and then offered thoughtful advice that took into consideration our unique concerns. After we hired her, she sent REGULAR updates and checkins by email, reminding us of our timelines and details. She gave me COMPLETE peace of mind that I could depend on her entirely! For our pre-wedding phone consult, she added in my request that my parents be showcased in a couple of family pictures so that I could give them a special gift for their 60th wedding anniversary. This was absolutely an "above and beyond". In our wedding day, she was at the venue promptly and completely many of the getting ready pictures, including the venue details, shoes, flowers, dresses. She handled the groom artfully and even helped him with his bow tie and cuff links. She orchestrated a BEAUTIFUL First Look and caught a priceless shot of some of our children and grandchildren cheering in the background. For the wedding itself, she managed to catch every important detail. My groom and I felt completely cared for and attended to. Totally unexpected! We were having a hard time finding a photographer who was recommended by others, within our price range, and who was a seasoned professional. We wanted a photographer who had extensive experience on weddings and who had packages that had everything we wanted (and nothing that we didn't want), including a copy of the original photos. Her quick response to our inquiry assured us that she was on top of things. We met in a nearby bar and went over general shotlists and discussed her approach to photography, and quickly and easily decided to hire her - no need to meet with anyone else! Our DJ had even worked with her in the past - good coordination between wedding professionals is important for ensuring that the day goes off with as few hitches as possible. She was all but invisible for most of the wedding (well, except when she was getting our guests at each table to come on up to the chuppah so we could get a photo with each of them), but still got an amazing series of shots. Her thorough knowledge of standard wedding photos was a godsend, and she worked with every additional request we had as well, all of which were fantastic. We've known Cambrae for a few years and were familiar with her work, but didn't begin working with her until 2016 for maternity photos. I knew she would be able to capture my husband and I in a beautiful and natural state. Boy was I right! Her style is to provide general direction, but see how the subjects take her direction and just be themselves. She'll of course give some tips to ensure we are getting our best angle, position, or light, but she always made us feel comfortable with having our photos taken. I fell in love with our maternity photos. We then invited her into our home after our baby was born and, again, Cambrae's style, patience, and experience, made it stress-free, comfortable, and resulted in beautiful images that I'm so glad are forever captured in digital glory. I knew we'd want to capture our baby's 1st year milestone, so we called on Cambrae a few weeks ago to do just that. Baby was not excited about having her photo taken that particular afternoon, but Cambrae had us do normal family things and do what we needed to help calm baby and make her comfortable. We had a break in weather and were able to go among the leaves outside and have some of the best images I could imagine. Cambrae is the absolute best photographer, she was so efficient and truly captured the best images. She knows how to make you comfortable being in front of the camera (which is hard for me) and I know it is for a lot of people. One thing I really loved was that she asked me what I wanted, and what was important to me to get photographed. I told her I really wanted photos with the cows that were on the property, and she made sure of it! And those turned out to be some of the most beautiful photos.
