After spending the day at Disney World and ending up in a wheelchair after only a few hours, I was determined to find a way to change things. I looked for physical fitness trainers online and spoke to a few. None gave me the answers I was looking for. I reluctantly looked up physical therapy, although I didn't have a lot of confidence this was the answer. I spotted Peak Fitness. I was impressed that they had physical therapy and fitness training in the same house. After speaking to Desiree and hearing what I hoped would be the answer I was looking for, I went in to meet them and sign up. I spoke with Dave, explained what I was looking for and he was positively confident he could make a difference for me. I decided to take a chance and signed up for 3 months. Any reservations I hard were dispelled with my first training class. Dave knew exactly how get my muscles retrained to work properly, then proceeded to make them stronger. Each class improved my ability to go further and longer. The Pilates helped stretch out my muscles and increased my core strength. At the 2 month mark, I went to Kennedy Space Center and lasted 10 hours on my feet, no cane, no wheelchair, just deliciously tired. My endurance has improved so much I still can't believe it. My muscles hurt less and are so much stronger I no longer need help lifting or doing any of the many chores around the house. Having the combined knowledge of fitness and physical therapy gave me the answers my body needed to get better. I now work out at home 6 days a week and feel better than ever. I went 6 times and had to beg for them to TOUCH my foot. All they did was put me on machines and give me exercises while the P.T's hung out on their phones. They had about 10 tables and not one person was on a table. Everyone was doing exercises. I complained on my third and fourth visit, and my 5th visit I finally got manual manipulation for 10 minutes from a PTA. I never returned . And it was a shame because the PT Lauren was very good and gave me a good exercises to do at home, but it was as if they are above the patient and won't even touch my surgical area? How is that helping my edema?

The "front" desk is very friendly and efficient. I worked mostly with Paul but to my observation all the therapists were attentive to their clients. Really, I can not thank Paul enough for his care. His program for my rehab was excellent. I am now at the point where I can function as I did before the disc was damaged. I live in Ormond Beach and had just drove 45 minutes to this location. My email indicated that the Palm Coast location was where my appointment was. I was told that the Ormond location could see me 5 (FIVE), hours later in the day! This was clearly a huge mistake on Ability Rehabilitation! Why was I turned away from this Palm Coast location? Why couldn't they fit me in after adjusting my busy schedule and driving 45 Minutes? My only regret is that I can't rate this operation with a negative number. Take my word when I say, steer clear of Ability Rehabilitation, Palm Coast. When you walk away with feeling like a number rather than a human then it's time to hopefully help others from making the same mistake as myself.
