This place is the real deal! It's family owned and seemed like a great local spot. The steak with balsamic vinegar on it was to die for! The spicy salami pizza was fantastic as well, the crust had a good crunch to it while still remaining soft. I also loved their carbonara but I got it with spaghetti noodles (that's just my preference) but they had no problem making that for me. They also have a very delicious creme brulee. The most delicious octopus salad with fruit. We didn't even know what we were ordering, but it ended up being superb. We ordered clams and pasta with mushrooms, which was the best pasta I've ever had. And an order of penne arribiata which was absolutely delicious. I had a great experience here. It has a very authentic hole in the wall feel with friendly staff, who recommended a delicious wine. The food was FANTASTIC. I had spaghetti with clams and my friend had fish ravioli with shrimp. I had to order the ravioli as a second course, because it was amazing. This is such a lovely place. Made reservations with the grandma that turned out to be our server. Despite significant language barriers, managed to confirm an "early" 7:30 dinner reservation on a Friday. Eggplant parmigiana was wonderful, as was the caccio e pepe and the calzone. The calamari was grilled perfectly and served with chopped pistachios over fresh bufala. Service was attentive but relaxed and sparse in frequency (unrushed was exactly as preferred). My advice to non-native speakers: be humble, deferential, warm, and show gratitude and you won't be disappointed. Would come back every return visit to Rome if I had the chance. read more

We were coming into town late and just wanted a quick bite to eat by our Airbnb, this restaurant definitely over delivered in every aspect. The atmosphere was intimate and authentic. The wait staff (family owned as I presume) were extremely accommodating despite our language barrier. I highly recommend the carbonara and the cheesecake, both were mind blowing. Came here on our first day in Italy. We were looking for the best pizza and decided the best way to find it was on foot. Piacere Molise looked tucked away on the rainy day, but we found it. We were the only ones there around 12:30 pm (our stomachs still aren't used to the later Italian meals). I ordered a calzone and my friend ordered a pizza. Our food took a normal amount of time. As soon as I cut into my calzone, I knew it was going to be good. It had that wonderful crunch on the outside and doughiness on the inside that my gluten free belly longs for. The bread was fresh, the mozzarella rich, and the prosciutto flavorful. The food alone was worth 5 stars. (DISCLAIMER: I did not eat gluten free today, but my stomach has been doing fine in Italy because of all of the freshly made dishes). Service was a little weird; however, we might just need to get used to being in a tourist city. Despite being the only ones in the restaurant, we still had to wait a bit longer than usual to have our orders taken and get the bill. We were charged an extra 2€ cover charge, 2€ for a coke, and 2€ for a water. Overall, the bill was still reasonable, but more than what we were expecting. read more

l'm torn. Should I talk about the astoundingly awful service or the extremely crappy food? We waited 30 minutes to order three types of pasta. We waited another 45 minutes for our orders to arrive. The carbonara was a version of scrambled eggs and bacon on pasta with no herbs or seasonings. The gnocchi with meat sauce had a distinctive Chef Boyardee taste, i.e. canned flavor, that was quite unfortunate. The meat ravioli had such a thick pasta layer they were slightly gummy. They too lacked in seasoning. The asparagus we ordered never arrived. The people who sat down 10 minutes after us received pasta with shrimp, fried fish, a meat dish, and two vegetables within 10 minutes..... Anyway, it turns out I've eaten at wonderful places in Rome, it's just this ain't one of them! read more

After visiting the Vatican my friends were trying to look for a less touristy restaurant right near the museum and stumbled upon this place. The waitress didn't speak English but the menu had English captions which is a plus. I got the meat filled ravioli with truffle sauce which was incredible, but I wish it was a bigger size.
