We were running way, way late after a wrong turn in Kinglake National Park turned our 8km hike into a 13km hike. I felt positively awful, but instead of berating us for arriving 15min after our booking, the staff expressed sympathy for all of our running around, showed us into our treatment room without any rush or fuss, and turned their attention immediately to our relaxation and well-being. Each of us got exactly what we were after: a soothing relaxation massage for my partner, therapeutic deep-tissue work for me. After our treatment, we were encouraged to stay and rest for as long as we wanted. The duo massage was $235 for 60 minutes (two people), which I thought was very reasonable. All-in-all, I was pleased both with the treatment and the exceptional customer service. I would definitely come back here the next time I'm in Yarra Valley for the day and want to give myself a little pampering.

This lighting is so calmly dim, in fact, that it may also be comfortable for those who live with lighting triggered anxiety. Well worth checking it out. We saw Catherine (spelling?), who exudes hospitality and warmth, making the initial welcoming into Santika very pleasing. If it's your first time, you will be required to fill out a small information form -- nothing invasive -- which is handled with a level of casual professionalism which makes the process an easy and comfortable task. It'll take you about five minutes, leaving plenty of time to drink in the surroundings and relax. You are given the option of paying up front or after the massage, both of which are dealt without any notion of your being a 'number' or a 'commission', which is pleasant to experience. There is an expected (and very minor) waiting time -- give yourself 10 minutes of waiting -- which seemed solely dependant on the number of staff working on the day (of which there was only one), but this didn't detract from the pleasant experience in the slightest. I booked my girlfriend in for a relaxation massage, which is now their one and apparently only form of treatment, for the great price of $90 for an hour. The treatment was a hot oil body and scalp massage, complete with hair cap, warm towels and an attentive masseuse. The treatment room was apparntly a little chilly, and the masseuse wore a rubber apron and latex gloves (which neither of us were used to seeing, but part of which may be ud eot the amount of oil used per treatment). Overall, girlfriend came out feeling relaxed, happy, feeling soft as butter and stating that another booking sometime in the future would be greatly appreciated.

It was a true stroke of genius then that my little lady had organized for our day to start at ABFAB Spa & beauty. Groggily walking through the doors, I was welcomed by a clean and inviting space that had me feeling all kinds of cozy in no time. We were escorted through to the waiting area, given slippers and dressing gowns, and told to get our clothes off and head to the next waiting area. It was here that we reclined and drank green tea whilst listening to the soothing music, intended to take customers to a state of relaxation that we were soon in. We were then taken into the massage room, where we received hour-long full body massages, complete with hot stone treatments. The masseurs were fantastic, and when I told them they could go as hard as they liked, had my sore muscles feeling like jelly. The hot stone part of the treatment was great too, the stones rolling down your back and warming you all over. Afterwards, we wandered back in to the green tea room and chilled out a little before re-dressing and facing the world again. They do facials, massage, hand and foot treatments, hair removal, permanent makeup and pamper packs. For a one hour facial it is $70 although they have options ranging from $45 to $105. Last time I went I had a facial and I sat in a reclining chair covered in a blanket. The products used are all natural and are available for purchase in the store. Unlike most beauty salons there is no pressure to buy, which I particularly liked. Another nice touch was a chocolate with the wrap around towel provided. The products in salons like this normally affect my skin but I have never had a reaction to any of the products used here. It is a godsend for sensitive skin!
