Did I want something from a bag that who knows how long it had been sitting and he had me smell it...... then he walked me to the big pile in the front and did the same and asked me which one I thought smelled more organic! Instead, dude goes, "Yeah, I'll cut some up for you and leave a pile." ...Huh? I thought this was 2025, not 1953 when neighbors actually helped each other. I legit didn't know what to do with that level of decency. Just nodded like, "Cool, cool," while internally wondering if I owed this dude beer or my money. 15 mins later--clean pile of perfect firewood like it spawned there on its own. No mess, no drama, no sketchy Facebook marketplace vibes. Just done. Also saw the job they did at Brookside Park when done--tight, fast, clean. No standing around pretending to look busy. Just handled it. Highly recommend these guys. Not just because they're good at their job...but because they somehow exist in a world full of people who don't get it. just don't blow them up too much, I want to stay on their good side for next firewood season.

After contacting 11 companies, receiving 8 quotes ranging from $414-$1195 and narrowing it down to 3 finalists. I paid nearly $800 with Sav-A-Tree (formerly Ping's Tree Service). My tree had a special needs situation and Sav-A-Tree offered a plan to repair. The largest upper branch split into 2 near the top. It would have left a gaping hole if it was removed. Sav-A-Tree offered to secure it with a cable so the limb wouldn't break during future high winds. I also loved Davey Tree Experts, they were my second choice. They offer a VERY price competitive "winter scheduling incentive." Definitely require proof of being insured & bonded for tree work or you could have a homeowner insurance claim for their workers if they're hurt. All the major firms and most family-owned tree companies could produce their insurance/liability information with their quote. Here's my before and after with clean in between and I couldn't be more pleased!

We received delivery of seven skids right away, along with the other material we needed. It had rained the morning of delivery, however, that didn't stop the delivery driver from proceeding right up through the side yard, partially into our neighbors yard too, and tearing it completely up (approx. 12-14" ruts). Our neighbor called us first to let us know what had happened, then we received a call from Tom Curley. Tom said Curley Bros. would send in a professional landscaper to fix the damage once things dried-up, and he was contemplating on firing the delivery personel as well. About a week later they did show-up and rototilled, layed minimal top-soil, and grass seed. They also cut the internet cable going into our house we would later discover. Not a big deal, but it would have been nice to know. We were very pleased with Ryan Curley, who spread the top soil. We met him in the yard and he siad after the new top soild settled, and we removed the pallets from the yard, he would come back to repair the ruts underneath the pallets. Once the yard settled and we got the pallets moved, we called Ryan to come back to spread more top soil to fill the ruts. Ryan said he would be out that day. Tom Curley called us immiedately after hanging-up with Ryan to tell us the pallet damage to the yard was part of construction and our responsibility. We explained it was not the damage from the pallets we were concerned about, but the ruts underneath the pallets caused by the moffett. We compromised and agreed that if Ryan brought the top soil, we would provide the grass seed. That was almost two weeks ago. They never showed. We have since hauled-in the top soil to repair the damage ourselves. What started out to be a pleasant experience ended with very poor professionalism and customer service. We were not asking for anything unfair. We just wanted what Tom Curley had told he was going to do and we simply wanted our yard put back the way it was.

Prices are a little higher but your not getting the same stuff that is shipped in on pallets at the box stores. A nice touch is that you can bring in containers that seal and get free water that has a fertilizer mixed in for your plants and flowers. I belive it is not for use on vegetables. Also, you can sip on an adult beverage as you're strolling around that can be purchased at the check out counter. I've gotten se real of my reported plants here over the last several years and they hold up nice thru the whole summer. Definitely a place worth checking out and the staff is always so friendly and willing to help you find what you're searching for.
