Over the three years that I continuously go back I can always expect to see something new every month. Every Month it changes to a new theme and it is free to walk in and view the items on display. There is a small gift shop in side for those would would like to buy gifts. You can also purchase the artwork that is on display with tags on them. I always receive good customer service while here. The staff is very friendly. On Saturdays Arts Clayton always features someone and their craft. Sometimes they will have programs catered to children and the parents can sign them up. Some programs are paid for when it come to weekend activities so follow their social media to keep up with all things Arts Clayton. On the side of the building there is even more beautiful art displayed. If you go during holiday season the street is usually decorated based on the holiday. Parking is in the rear of the building. There are some parking spots in the front and Handicapped parking.

There are cute shops, lots of options for sweet treats (bakery, gelato, specialty coffee and tea, etc.) as well as lots of options for light bites, heavy meals, group activities or fun drinks. We patronized a few businesses as we walked, but I also enjoyed these leaf dress displays on the corners (see pics). It reminded me of the art displays large cities often have were there'll be a painted animal (cow, fish, horse, etc.) on various corners. Trilith is a good location if you're looking to burn some time and take in a meal while doing it. I've never been to any of the special events in the area, but have heard good things.

Granted, I was a bit…read morebiased - Miles Davis (www.massiveburnstudios.com) was kind enough to invite Trace Studios (www.tracestudios.com) to provide the music for the event, and my boyfriend is a collaborator at Trace (he does most of the guitar work and a large amount of songwriting, and the owner is one of his best friends). But I have to say, I was SO impressed with the space. I'm no art aficionado, and I'm not even going to try to review this space for the quality as an art gallery or anything like that. I LOVE the fact that the owner has retained the "house" feeling. And the sound system was outstanding. The space was just charming, and the designated parking lot across the street was a lifesaver. I don't know any better as far as deciding how it was compared to any other places, but for what Miles, Kawai, and Trace Studios wanted to do, I can't imagine a better place for it.

In late November, we went to Holiday Road, a very good static Christmas presentation of lights and…read moredisplays at Bouckaert Farm in Fairburn that I thought was the best Christmas lights display in the Atlanta area. We scored free tickets through Yelp, so I have no idea how much the tickets would've cost. I used Waze to get there, and was able to get to the event easily. I thought this was a well organized event. There were certainly a lot of employees available up to the point of where customers walk through and past the light displays. Going through the huge grassy field was confusing at first, because I wasn't sure where I was supposed to drive, but employees were well spaced out, guiding me to where I was to go. Parking was entirely on the grass, and we walked a very short distance to the entrance, where I gave my name, the number of people attending, and our assigned time slot. After going through the Security checkpoint, we walked up to the big merchanidise tent where lots of Christmas-centric items were being sold. I didn't see anything I was interested in. We walked into a big field area that had displays spread throughout that customers could pose at or on, and there were food trucks selling food, an outdoor bar, and tables where people could sit and enjoy their food and drinks, and wait until it was time for them to start their trek through the Christmas displays. At our assigned time, we went to the start of the Holiday Road Trail with no more than 40 other people. Once our group was let in, we could go along the trail at our own paces. The trail was actually through big open fields, and definitely was for people who are able to walk because customers had to walk on dirt, gravel, grass and pavement at any given time. R and I decided to go at a slower pace, which worked to our advantage because we were able to take pictures without random people in them. We walked past village displays made to look like buildings decorated with Christmas lights, then past tall light displays that can be bought at retail stores. The farther along the trail that we walked, and the more I looked at the different displays, the more I was getting into the Christmas spirit, and I felt a lot happier by the time we got to the end. For those who walked about halfway through the trail and were still not having a good time, there was another outdoor bar to imbibe a much needed alcoholic attitude adjuster. I thought it was great that there were Nativity, Kwanzaa and Menorah displays toward the end of the trail. Since we came early in Holiday Road's run, it wasn't that crowded, so I thought that the assigned time slots were unnecessary. We took it slow, and we walked the entire trail, stopping frequently to take pics, and it took us less than 45 minutes to walk.

We are…read morealways looking for new and different things to do to celebrate and get in the Christmas spirit, and Holiday Road was a perfect way to kick off the month of December and get in the festive mood! This is a great experience for families of all sizes and of all ages! The drive from Atlanta to Fairbun is a little bit of a haul, but is well worth it. Make sure you have the right address from the website plugged in - we put in the farm name into our GPS and ended up a few miles away from the entrance. It can be a bit hard to find in the dark, just a word of caution. There is a winding entrance into the farm, and PLENTY of parking. There were attendants posted along the route to direct you where to go and park. Once we were parked, we made our way through the entrance and were greeted by the "gift shop." This did seem a bit hokey but I saw several families by illuminated necklaces that were cute - we thought about getting our dog one of the stuffed animals but they were $20 which seemed steep. Be prepared that the facilities here are porta potties - not much else for them to do here since the exhibit is set up on a farm, but just a word to the wise. We stopped off at the bar to get a drink to warm up - we both got the spiked hot chocolate which was tasty, but definitely overpriced. We would have gotten a second drink each but did not feel like spending more than the ticket price for drinks. My recommendation would be to skip the bar altogether. There were several food trucks stationed before the walking entrance to the lights, but we opted to wait and have dinner after the show, because the food did seem expensive for the offerings. The lights and displays themselves were beautiful - so many great photo opportunities, we even put one of our pictures on our Christmas card this year! We loved working our way through the show and because of the way the tickets are set up, the trail was not crowded and we had plenty of chances to stop and take in the lights and get pictures with just us in them! The entire experience took just over an hour - which was more than enough because it was freezing the night we went! Make sure to check the weather and bundle up if it's cold! This was a great way to kick off the holiday season!

This is a Main Street take over type festival. They have a few things for the kids sprinkled around…read moreand the focus is on food, fun, and commerce. Yes there are a number of vendors selling home made wares and even a few wholesalers of various items but nothing out of place for a small town festival. Some features for the kids: pony rides, face painting (pro), bungee jumps, and just about any kids food you can imagine. I would recommend a wagon or comfy stroller for those still adjusting to walking as the pavement is nice but still a scrape hazard with a few lumps and dips along the curbs. For adults there are a number of eating options price appropriately for a festival. This year they had not one but two Caribbean eateries attending serving Jamaican and Virgin Island dishes. You will have to eat something the smells wafting up and down the street cannot be ignored! Overall while a simple and smaller festival it is a great day out with the kids and a good way to stretch the legs while seeing local and traveling businesses of Georgia.

Paper Plane Gallery is a new spot in College Park that just celebrated their Grand Opening last…read moreweek. They are off to a strong start with their current show, titled New American Works 2016. The exhibit showcases some of Atlanta's finest with high quality, affordable work. The gallery space is intimate but definitely large enough to move around and mingle. The owners are awesome and super enthusiastic about the College Park neighborhood and growing the art scene there. You should definitely check this place out. I know it will be on our regular rotation and I look forward to upcoming shows!

Paper Plane Gallery is a new gallery in historic College Park. It created a buzz when announced,…read moreprobably because the College Park/Hapeville/East Point area is home to a ton of artists... painters, writers, graphic designers, photographers, those who work in film, etc. The grand opening, held on June 9, 2016, justified the buzz... tons of neighbors on hand, and I for one met a lot of folks for the first time. Several said they lived within 3-4 blocks of the gallery, but I hadn't met them before despite living in College Park for 19 years... I guess that's what good art does, it can bring people together. The current exhibit, comprising works by artists from Atlanta to Portland, is vibrant, with a wide range of styles. The prices are affordable. Credit to the owner for curating a space that feels cozy - it's a smallish room - and presents the artwork in nice light. I expect to be back often.

We came here on a weekend and they were having an event with a food vendor set up in the lobby. There was also a DJ spinning chill tunes and salsa dancing. This is a free gallery that accepts donations. We wandered around and looked at the various art in all the rooms, that had different themes. As we made our way to the back, we discovered some studio space where the artists do their work. My favorite was probably the photography exhibit highlighting Forest Cove. On our way out, we stopped and got some tacos from the food vendor, which was great. We spent a little less than an hour here.
